I've been ordering glaze from these guys for about 11 years now, in the beginning with good results. They have a wonderful huge selection of glazes and the shipping is as reasonable as you're going to get. The past few years of orders have had mistakes or especially glaze exploding during shipping. I just spoke with Brant the owner who has assured me this has been resolved but was due to staffing shortages, etc. which I do understand. There was also an issue regarding emails not being read or even looked at, which has also been addressed.

This place is RIGHTEOUS. Incredibly helpful staff, fabulous selection of all things pottery, and a nice vibe, as well. It's hard to imagine what they could improve upon. So grateful they exist!! (Special thanks to Crash for terrific help!)

Deleted previous negative review. Had some shipping issues, but this business doesn't deserve a bad review. Note to self: don't post reviews online when upset. The paints look to be great quality.

I wanted to get a really special vintage looking glaze for a pot I making for my husband as a gift. I found it easily at New Mexico Clay, "Harvest Time" by Duncan. It was super easy to order online, and they shipped it out right away. I got it today and it was packaged beautifully and very fresh. I got great customer service on the phone as well. I'll be back!

This is a wonderful resource for artists and crafty people. They offer an enormous selection of clay items from actual clay to tools to glazed and even kilns. There are also classes offered in their studio space as well as firing services for people who do not own or have access to their own kiln. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable as well. I definitely recommend New Mexico Clay!!

A must stop in when you are in the area, staff is helpful and great choice of materials and tools. Support local clay, not Amazon or Walmart !

I had gone in looking specifically for green ware or molds for a specific item. I found there to be very few choices. I found the molds to be the same items on the shelves. When I went to find help the people at the front were not helpful at all. They told me to go and look at all the shelves.

Great local business! They have a ton of different clays available for all your sculpting/throwing needs. They have tons of glazes, and paints at great prices. AND a wall full of tools, kilns, and on site firing.

I've been working with New Mexico Clay as an artist and educator for over seven years and they have always been excellent at customer service, pricing and inquisitions. If they don't know something, which between the knowledgeable staff is not often, they have been in the business so long that they then connect you to those that do. They provide delivery services if needed. Assistance with kiln repair, purchase and delivery has been stellar and honestly I couldn't say I've ever had one negative experience and when I travel anywhere else in the country I end up missing New Mexico Clay and speak of them fondly. Get on their mailing list to enjoy great products, events and sales!

A treasure trove for all things ceramic! The staff (particularly David) are helpful and informed, and took us on a tour of the whole facility. Amazing chemists and artists!

Went to my first of 6 class sessions this past Tuesday. I found NM Clay to spacious, well stocked, and very clean. The instructor Dan was informative and highly approachable. I liked his teaching style. He encouraged us to get a feel for the clay and to not be afraid to struggle at first. I had been wanting to take a class for many years and it appears I've made the right choice by starting my journey at New Mexico Clay! If there's any change I'll update (for better or worse). At this point I highly recommend them! Update: I've got 3 classes under my belt. The instructor, Dan takes time to work with each person based on the student's individual needs and he takes requests. I asked for basic instructions for working with slabs of clay. He took the time to give a demo and had me participate. Now I'm off and running! I was able to build the beginnings of 2 mugs during open studio time. Can I give 6 stars!? Thus far the class at NM Clay has exceeded my expectations.

This place is amazing! I've bought pottery supplies in 3 states and online and nothing compares to the products available here. And the staff is the best anywhere...knowledgeable and incredibly friendly.

Bring your ceramics wishlist and your imagination! This is the most amazing store ever!! They have anything you can possibly need or want! This is a destination stop for sure! They are super friendly, knowledgeable and will answer any question () and give advise if asked. They make all their own clay onsite and supply it worldwide and locally to Universities, art supply stores, professional and amateur artists. They teach classes, repair and sell kilns, sell slab rollers and more. You can start an account and they can ship to you if needed. I am not sure if I go to Albuquerque to visit my dad or go to this store!!! I can't wait to go back!!
