I met Dr. Pacheco for the first time. I was in the market for reading glasses and prescriptions. However, she suggested trifocal glasses and was very convincing when she pointed out that I needed long-distance, mid-distance, and close-distance. She said, "You will see the difference." I went for it and spent close to $1,000.00 on glasses. After a long wait, I finally got the call that my glasses were ready. The long and mid-distance were o.k., but I did not see a big difference with or without the glasses. I did not get to see Dr. Pacheco, but the woman who helped me, could not believe that the close distance did not work. She let me know that I must wear the glasses as close to my face as possible, which made me dizzy and I still did not correct the fact that I could not read. She took the glasses again and tilted more, they looked so funny, very close to my chick and very far from my brows, she tilted, and tilted, and tilted until she distorted the long and mid-distance to the point that now the glasses were useless in all account. Finally, a manager came and checked the prescription against my over-the-counter readers, and let me know that the lenses needed to be done. I spent another three weeks without glasses and when they finally called me back, guess what. The reading portion of the lenses still does not work. Recently, I shared with a co-worker my experience with Lenses Crafters and she let me know that the same happened to her. Dr. Pacheco's prescriptions are just not right. Please notice that Pearl Vision on Menaul has almost the same percentage of bad reviews as good and a very low 3.5 rating. Not only the erratic prescription, but the customer service are terrible!!

No problem whatsoever with Dr Pacheco - she was great. But office manager is whole other story. They billed the wrong insurance group / ID. I realized this two days after my visit. The office manager refused to resolve the issue. When I mentioned he left me no recourse other than to contest my credit card charge, he accused *me* of planning to steal from them. Then he hung up on me.I have no problem with them getting what they are due. But according to insurance I should have been liable for $10 copay. Instead I wound up paying $80.Since my experience, I see other Google reviews with similar experiences with the office manager. So buyer beware.Again, nothing but respect for Dr Pacheco - this is no reflection on her service or abilities.

I had an injury from radio frequency microneedling that was done around my eye. I went to neurologist was told it caused nerve injury. Trigeneral neuralgia. My eye was burning still burns almost 3 yrs later Pacheco said I was born with the hole on my eye and also said it will heal over with time. I’m 45 and it hasn’t healed yet I called to get a referral out of fear of a complete retinal tear and possibly going blind in one eye. I told the girl that I didn’t trust the Drs opinion that I was born with the hole on my retina knowing it’s on the same eye that was injured and I want a second opinion. She lost her mind and started telling me the Dr wouldn’t lie and said I have no right to judge the Dr I said I have a right to a second opinion and why didn’t Pacheco refer me to a retinal specialist I had to do my own research to find out it could completely detach. The Dr never told me that I had to ask and she then said yes it’s possible now that it’s two yrs later I find this out The girl that answered the phone and yelled at me is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. She actually argued on the phone with me back and fourth defending the Dr when all I wanted was a referral and second opinion. The fact that I could possibly go blind in one eye is nothing I take lightly it’s not joke.. I have to be my own advocate

Dr. Pacheco is the best optometrist in the state. She's a kind and patient doctor who takes time to explain things to you about your eyes over all health. The ladies on the optical side helped me pick out two pairs that I love. If I can give them more stars I would!

After three years of going to different eye doctors around Albuquerque (who haven’t been able to give me the answers I was looking for or seem to get my prescriptions correct) I found Dr Pacheco at Pearl Vision. She gave me the most thorough eye exam I’ve ever had. She was able to identify the issues I have been having but also took the time to explain to me why I was having certain complications with my eyes. Finally, everything makes sense. Pearl Vision is a little more expensive than other places for an exam, but it is very thorough and absolutely worth it. Dr Pacheco is absolutely fantastic. 100% recommend.

So… here is my very bizarre experience. I came across this location last year while looking for new glasses after going to see another Dr. I didn’t find frames that I liked but I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and a customer told me that Dr Pacheco was a great eye Doctor. So, when my husband needed an exam I made an appointment for him with Dr Pacheco. He went and remarked that she was great and he had never had such a thorough appointment, he also purchased he glasses from there. Fast forward to this year and my husband scheduled an appointment for me. Three days prior to the appointment I received a call confirming my appointment and I was told I needed to pre-pay my co-pay for a total of $299.00. My Eye Med app claims my estimated co-pay to be $10 but I wear contacts so I know there’s an up charge for that and for the eye scan but still $299 sounded very high. I asked the girl can you tell me exactly what I’m paying for, and she said the exam and Optoscan(which they require)… so I asked if she had my insurance info and she said, yes, that took $100 of the price. I gave her my credit card # and I was also told that I was required to purchase a 1 year supply of contacts from them. Frankly it seemed very high and I did sort of question weather they could force me to buy my contacts from them but as long as the contact price was in the ballpark of what they should cost I was ok with that.Over the weekend I felt I needed to have a better idea about exactly what my insurance coverage was, so I called Eye Med. When speaking to Eye Med they couldn’t understand how the co-pay could be that high and they wondered why I pre-payed my co-pay and they were disturbed by the fact that I was told that I was required to buy contacts through them. I told her I had asked the girl confirming the appointment for a more detailed breakdown of the charges but she was either unwilling or unable to give me any solid information. The insurance agent asked if I would like her to call the office to find out “what was going on” she put me on hold and called them. When she got back on the phone she told me you should call your credit card company and dispute the charges. She said the girl on the phone just kept say “I’m not allowed to say anything, my manager isn’t here” over and over. She asked the girl on the phone why they made me pre-pay and she answered “we require pre-payment from patients without insurance”. The agent told her “she has insurance, I’m the insurance carrier”. The agent then told her you are not allowed to charge before services a rendered and you are not allowed to require a patient to purchase contacts through you. While I was debriefing with the insurance company I had a call coming in from Pearle Vision… I answered, honestly thinking it was the Dr or a Manager calling to apologize for the miscommunication but NO…it was the clueless girl calling to tell me that because I filed a complaint on them with my insurance company that they would still see me but they would now not accept my insurance and I would have to pay in full, $299. You already charged me $299 you idiot! What!!!I was both furious and laughing hysterically at the stupidity of that statement! I did not file a complaint, I simply called my insurance company to understand what my coverage was for each part of my exam. I’m pretty sure as a patient that I have the right to check on my insurance coverage. So, I told her I hadn’t filed a complaint but I sure would now. I probably called them crazy also, I was livid and laughing at the bizarre bullying tactics. I told her to cancel my appointment and she said “would you like me to credit you cc charge?” I said “yes, please”. Two days later it still has not been credited back. Ironically, I looked at the charge and it was for $214 not $299.That girl is not fit to speak to any humans never mind patients. She is soooo…. clueless could be new or something but obviously there is some major issue with supervision and training in that office. My husband is canceling his appointment also.
