Swear she is one of the handful of competent vets since moving to New Mexico. Saved our cats life by tracking down a surgeon to do his surgery in a state that seems to lack basic essentials for living. She always tries to squeeze us in if needed, follows up with us and is well informed.I don’t get how people are so unintelligent in this state you can’t separate this review is for the “vet” not the clinic. She doesn’t own it, she just works there. Second, if your doctor is ordering test its not to “trick” you, it is necessary to finding out what is wrong. I don’t know how you “know” the labs and test are unnecessary, since you are not a vet. If you did actually have those skills, you would not be at the vet. Your animal can’t talk and most of you are have the observation skills of a flea. Last, she doesn’t have to “squeeze” you in to an already packed schedule. Its called “emergency” service if your animal is in dire need. One would hope you take your human child to the emergency room if needed, but I can’t truly make that statement here.Children cost money, animals cost money. The exception with children is the state offsets your lifestyle. If you are not prepared to take full responsibility for a pet, don’t get one.Overall, given the horrific quality of care and education in this state, this woman is an angel from God.

The turned us away and said they were to busy. Now my dog is paralyzed from the neck down. Emergency rooms are are for when there are no other options!

Had general questions about my parakeet. First lady who picked up the phone was kind and transferred me to someone who could answer them. The next lady asked what my issues were. After describing them, she shortly said they can’t provide medical advice over the phone. I mean, I understand that, but the heck did you waste my time for?

Receptionist or whoever answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. I gave her a description of my pets issue and she would just reply "ok" I told her I'm not sure what else you want me to say, I don't know what all information you need and she said "well what do you want" I told her again, and she said "no we don't do that anymore. You just need to call around" and hung up on me.

My family has entrusted Dr.Russman with every single pet in our family (3 birds and 5 dogs) and she is the best. We never doubt her diagnosis and she's so great with all type of animals. We always recommend her whenever possible!

Called this vet for a quote on a dog teeth cleaning and was told the price STARTS at $650.00! I have NEVER paid that much anywhere for a basic cleaning. Even with a tooth removal on the last cleaning the cost wasn't more than $400.00.

Our family brings our house rabbits to Dr Russman, we feel that she genuinely cares for our guys. We don't feel that she's ever advised tests or procedures that were unwarranted. She is extremely rabbit savvy and we recommend her without hesitation.

Dr. Russman is a good vet but unfortunately like all VCA vets she tries to get you to pay for additional tests and treatments that are not needed.
