Avoid Sandia Collision – Poor Communication and Incomplete Repairs
I strongly advise against using Sandia Collision for any vehicle repairs. My experience with them has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. After my vehicle was rear-ended, I took it to Sandia Collision for repairs, as instructed by my insurance company. Unfortunately, the entire process has been a nightmare.
From the start, communication was poor. I had to constantly follow up to get updates on my vehicle’s status, as they rarely reached out. The promised repairs were not completed as they should have been. Despite explaining the extent of the damage, they failed to properly assess and repair the vehicle. Instead, they provided subpar work and refused to address the full scope of the damage.
When I attempted to resolve the issues, the manager refused to sign any documentation acknowledging the incomplete work. They only agreed to release my vehicle if I paid in full, despite the fact that I now have to take my truck to another body shop to get the repairs done correctly.
This ordeal has cost me time, money, and a significant amount of stress. I do not trust Sandia Collision to provide quality work or good customer service. Save yourself the headache and take your vehicle to a more reputable repair shop.

Fixed the right side of vehicle fine. I asked if they could repaint a small rear bumper panel. They said they would call me with quote. They finished the repair, never called, and didn't refinish the area we discussed when I had the inspection performed.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO SANDIA DIEGO COLLISION – COMPLETE NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE!
I initially left a review about the poor service at Sandia Diego Collision, but I need to update it because things got even worse. After their sloppy and incomplete repair job, my truck—a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500—was not drivable due to the damage they caused. When I brought this to their attention, they showed zero concern and refused to take responsibility. Instead, the owner/manager had the audacity to tell me that it wasn’t his problem and that I had a limited number of days to remove my truck before he started charging me a ridiculous $30 per day in storage fees.
Since the truck was left in non-working condition due to their poor workmanship, I had no choice but to pay out of pocket to tow my own vehicle to a different mechanic just to get it running again. That’s an extra cost that I never should have had to pay if Sandia Diego Collision had done their job correctly in the first place. Now, on top of everything, I have additional repair costs because they failed to properly fix my truck.
This business is completely unprofessional and takes no responsibility for their mistakes. Instead of owning up to their poor work, they try to shift the blame onto the customer and milk you for extra fees. If you value your time, money, and vehicle, DO NOT take your car here. I am now dealing with the financial burden of extra repairs, towing, and mechanical fees, all because they did not do their job properly.
I will be pursuing legal action to recover my costs, and I highly recommend that anyone considering using this place look elsewhere unless you want a massive headache and extra expenses.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They continuously lie to our faces and the insurance company about when our vehicle will be ready. My car looks worse now than it did going into the shop. I was quoted just a few weeks without a car and it has been months now. Daisy and Duke have not been helpful or communicative during this process either.

Update as of today 3/14 I have spoke to Dave and daisy they are telling my daughter to take her car for the weekend with the lane departure light on. When we spoke to daisy she said I have to turn on my computer and never called back. It seems to be games with these people as the do not care how they are making thing hard. I told Dave if we take the car with the light and anything happens you are responsible his response is I didn’t wreck you car. No sir you are in the business of fixing wrecked cars. This place is a joke and at what point do we get a lawyer by the reviews o believe we could have a few people go after this for their business tactics. Please reach out to me if you also would like to speak to a lawyer
My daughter’s car went in on 1/18/2025. The shop still has the vehicle and refuses to give us or the insurance a completion date. The worst part is they refuse to communicate with us and give any information. You feel scammed dealing with this shop. I should have done my research and seen it had 2.1 stars which it’s probably too generous of a rating after dealing with them. I asked to speak with a manager and they wouldn’t get on the line. This has been horrible dealing with them and they do not care!! Do not take your vehicle to this shop!!

TL;DR: If you value communication, attention to detail, and a solid Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program, I would highly recommend that you seek another mechanic.
Communication: The first offense I’ll forgive, as it was a literal shot in the dark from a secretary, but I was told 10 days *probably* which turned into close to three weeks. That’s fine. I called on a Wednesday afternoon asking if my car would be ready by Friday. I was told that was dependent on delivery of a part, so I asked to be informed in any case (received or not) by close of business Thursday. I had to call again on Friday afternoon to be told the part wasn’t delivered. I have no problem with that, it’s out of the shop’s control. What is in their control is customer communication which seems to be lackluster at best.
Attention to Detail: My car was dropped off after being sideswiped with damage to the door, front left quarter panel, bumper, and fender. *Most* of that got replaced with new OEM parts. That fact was instantly and immediately lost on me when presented with my car. The hood ajar warning is present on the dash. It wasn’t when I dropped it off. I had some time so I decided to do some cursory troubleshooting that a non-mechanic could confidently perform. I pulled the bumper off to find a 2 pin Molex-type connector that mates the hood latch wiring harness to another harness that was shattered. What does that mean? That means that Sandia Collision broke the connector; It means that Sandia Collision saw the critical dash warning; it means that Sandia Collision chose to ignore a critical issue and present the car as repaired. I actually have less features due to their negligence, and that is a purposeful use of that word; the remote start does not work if the hood indicates open.
QA/QC: The hood latch aside, there were at least two glaring issues that any reasonable person would assume a simple and standard quality control walk-around would catch. The driver’s side door, that I mentioned was damaged, was removed and wantonly replaced such that it creaked and cracked whenever the door was opened. When I arrived home from the shop, I closed the door to find that the molded plastic bit that covers the keyed entry point had flown off.
Honestly, what are we doing here? How has the standard, if there ever was one, degraded such that these obvious issues are not addressed? Or even worse, acknowledged and not communicated?
I don’t care that a part couldn’t be procured by Thursday. I don’t care that the techs broke a connector and would delay delivery by an hour. TELL ME ABOUT IT. I’m willing to work with honest companies. I am not willing to forgive blatant dishonesty and a company culture that promotes said dishonesty.
A fair warning to those with Geico insurance, I’d implore you to find your own shop for repairs to your vehicle. The fact that a national insurance company funnels business to *this* shop is laughable. In reference to the door, I reached out to the auto damage supervisor of the area after delivery of the vehicle, who informed me that their adjuster requested and priced a new door.
Who is lying? That’s for you to decide :)
ETA: They don’t even vacuum your floors after holding your vehicle hostage. I get my floors vacuumed at every 5 minute oil change joint in the state.
Be better, and do your job.

They sure take their time but will tell you anything you want to hear, even if it is untrue. Receptionists are snippy, quality is subpar, communication is awful.
Do yourself a favor and just pick somewhere else....

I will never take my car here again!! I feel forced since it was a car accident. They had my car for a month and it still has damage and they drained my battery. Please go anywhere else if insurance is speaking to you about getting your car repaired!! I wouldn't have put one star but in order to leave a review you have to....
