Sandia Peak Tramway is an aerial tramway that carries up to 45 people on a 15-minute, 2.7-mile ride to the top elevation of 10,378 feet. The ride is breathtaking and offers the most beautiful views. The view from the top is excellent, insane, and incredible, providing an 11,000 square mile panorama. It is a great spot for amazing, unobstructed pictures. Visitors recommend checking it out at sunset, as the changing colors make the ride down way too cool and are the icing on the cake. The top features a Forest Service Visitor Center, hiking trails, scenic decks, a gift shop, a place to eat, and the Ten 3 restaurant. It is an awesome attraction and an incredible experience, well worth the ride. Everyone is very friendly, and the operators are full of information and helpful. It is important to dress for very cold temperatures, with a winter coat, gloves, and hat recommended. Wearing good boots or shoes is also advised. Visitors can stay all day to hike, take pictures, and enjoy the breathtaking sights.
Great view and the staff are knowledgeable. There are hiking opportunities from the bottom or from the top. Or just chill. Or get some drinks. Or get some food
