Older Caucasian security guard must be racist or prone to profiling cause I got stopped for having my backpack on me and asked to leave it up front when that has never happened to me before by any other security guard or staff member. I have always paid for my things, and my backpack had very valuable things inside that I can guarantee the store has no liability for if it were stolen or misplaced. Not to mention this location is near UNM where plenty of people who also don't have vehicles walk around with backpacks. I'll be coming in to talk to someone about this issue soon. The rest of the staff are very helpful, not that security guard though.

The Smiths Yale Blvd store is an absolute hideous nightmare... I'm 70 years old and I've never seen so much chaos and mental illness in my life... The management and staff are absolutely incompetent and disgusting... Completely incapable of handling the basic needs of the customer...BEWARE.. AND AVOID THIS LOCATION...

Went there for the first & last time. The aisle was very narrow & over crowded. Could it get past other people with the shopping cart. Was very disappointed that there were no fresh salads in the deli area. There was only one cashier at checkout on a Saturday night. The other cashier called out they would take the next customer, but proceeded to walk away. What kind of customer service is that?

I have been a customer for over 25 years. I have had nothing but, problems from interactions from the employees who work there. This last event that happened to me was the final straw. I was already having to question going back after the health department closed this store for uncleanness for bad fruit, vegetables, and meat being sold but, when there customer service woman was yelling at me twice and there manager who has been at this store since I first started shopping there, did not put a stop to her behavior ( and I really started feeling threatened by her behavior ) I finished my return of merchandise I had bought that was dried out and rotten. I stated that was the final straw, and not to worry, I won't ever return to this store or any other smiths store in the future. Complaining does not work. Management does not care, nor does the corporation care how there customers are being treated. It's upsetting that this is ok with them. Well thats ok, I am taking my debit card and spending my grocery money I spend monthly ( 1,000.00 plus dollars a month) to Albertsons. Tired of the lack of caring and abuse from there poor choices in hiring and managing bad choices in employment staff. I watched the manager giving high fives to his bagger boys with his head in The clouds when clearly there many problems that he should have been addressing ( the actual description of his job title) I am only one customer ( me, my husband and adult daughter) used to get our prescriptions, gas, food at this store. So maybe I am just one customer but, my business probably funded one to two employees employment. That's why you shouldn't treat your customers like dirt when they are shopping. Maybe they need to learn that before they will do something about there management team and hiring of employees. The fact that I started thinking, should I be recording this, is so very bad. Shame on smiths and Kroger for continued failure to correct the behaviors and attitudes from there staff! I am not going to take it, one more time is too much. I done!!!!!

For quick pickup for neighbors. They alwayd run out og veggies and fruits. Only good for few groceries which aren't veggies or fruits. I wouldn't recommend unless if you got no choice.

I agree exactly with Mark W. A bit sketchy, do not recommend after dark, mostly because of the area but convenient if you are nearby.Mostly I wanted to add that even though Google lists it as having a PHARMACY, it does NOT.

Smiths on Coal and Yale, enough is enough. Being the only local market to shop and being essential to us that are limited with transportation issues such as being disabled or just poor, don't have much choice but to put up with the arrogance and rude attitudes of staff and uncaring and dismissive attitude of management. The store itself is never stocked very well, and the items that are are so disarranged that one has to shop verifying bar codes. Even this is not enough to avoid a condescending verbal confrontation from staff. Prices at checkout on a lot of items do not match advertised (marked) items. When brought to their attention all hell breaks loose. Did I mention that some people are poor or budgeted? So this just comes down to being cheated. Again not much choice for the economically/physically challenged as to shopping options. This just comes to the idealism of management dehumanizing the vulnerable of a community. My dollar is just as good as the PRETTY people, it really is!

Pretty sketch, but convenient if you live nearby. Good for quick runs to get essentials, but I do big grocery runs at other places. The aisles are super narrow, and the parking lot is pure chaos. Do not recommend visiting after dark.

5 star customer service :) didn't have what I was looking for but the employees were very sweet. One of the employees named Gilbert went out of his way to help me look for the half gallon of half and half that I wanted but wasn't there so I seen a smaller size that was on sale or maybe it was in the wrong spot but when I took it to checkout it didn't ring up the price I thought so I told employee Marie that I was gonna leave it there and apologized and instead she gave me the price I saw earlier!

They go the extra mile for customers. When they were out of a sale item the store manager gave me a comparable replacement free of charge. The other stores could take a page out of the Yale and Coal store's book on customer service.

I just witnessed the most blatant racism from a customer against employee Kobe - whose always been nothing but kind and helpful. Kobe deserves a raise for putting up with such ignorance day to day from our rude neighbors or at least employee of the month for doing so with such grace and poise. I really love this smiths but I’m disappointed by the patrons who shop here
