Excellent customer service. I had questions about the topsoil I ordered. It looked like there was a lot of wood and mulch in it. They connected me to Wnesy, their master gardener, who assured me of the quality and also helped walk me through seeding a lawn. With the soil and Wendy's detail instructions, we have now have the beautiful grass I envisioned!

Ordered 6 cubic yards and this is what I got. I've ordered 6 cubic yards before so I could tell this was not 6, more like 4. Sure enough my garden beds where only 2/3rds of the way full even tho I calcualted for them to be full with 6 cubic yards of soil.
Also, my order was delayed by a day because of apparent truck issues; the person on the phone told me it would arrive the next day between 8 and 9, but of course it arrives at 10.
Lastly, the truck driver was incompetent. I am pretty sure it was his first time operating a dump truck.
You are much better off ordering bulk from retail stores.

We have used Soilutions at our North Valley home for years with amazing results. My wife’s gardens are always overflowing! Most recently we remodeled our driveway and used their Forest Floor mulch. It looks incredible! Highly recommend.

I am not one to leave bad reviews unless justified and this is justified. I bought 2 cubic yards for my raised beds and was so excited to have a flourishing garden this year. Most of what’s planted in this specific soil is hardly growing, has yellowing leaves and some stopped growing completely and needed to be pulled. I have other plants in different soil that are thriving, even the pumpkins we threw in our yard last year seeded and are way healthier and bigger than what’s in my raised beds. I don’t know if it’s the location we picked it up from or that it was the very last of the product so we got bottom of the barrel soil which seems like mostly sand, but things are not doing well and it bums me out. I wanted to love this product because I’m sure they have some good soil at times based on some other reviews but overall I’m disappointed and will have to figure something else out next year or try a different location or ask for something more fresh.
*photo reference - The ones outside the beds are doing amazing and that’s in our desert dirt! The tomato plants in the buckets are in a different soil as well. The rest are the ones in Soilutions soil.

Always worked with them dirt Is in excellent condition ready for sod or whatever. Delivery guy was great friendly.

I had heard Soilutions was the place to go for good compost and soil in Albuquerque and was excited to support a local business instead of picking up a bunch of bags from a big box hardware store to fill some new raised beds. But I wish we had done something else. We picked up a truckload each of the enriched topsoil, and the premium garden soil from the nearest just sprinklers. Both soils ended up being hydrophobic and despite our best efforts parts of the beds still wont hold water. On top of that there is unfinished compost in the soil and two of the beds have sprouted a bunch of mystery squash, and we're having to amend the soil as none of our plants are doing well in the "ready to plant" soil, while our beds from last year are doing fine.
Update:
Despite their claims, the compost was unfinished and contained large pieces of squash, and the seeds that we missed have populated our beds.
The "ready for direct planting" and "premium" soil we bought was dried out and hydrophobic before we even put it in our beds. We went direct from just sprinklers to the raised beds, and planted our starts that day.
Maybe it is how just sprinklers stores the soil (there wasn't a tarp over it, which in our "extremely arid" environment seems like a mistake), or how Soilutions produces it, or a combination of the two.
Bottom line, even though it is labeled "ready for direct planting" you should budget for amendments, expect some recruits, and plan to figure out how to get hydrophobic soil to take up water again (even with a couple of months of regular watering it isn't an easy task to dissolve that waxy coating that has developed).

We have used Soilutions for years and it is the best. They have various soil/compost mixes and delivery for larger loads ( which we used. You can also buy it in bags. They also have a variety of mulches.

I ordered the premium soil for delivery, and should have went to check product out first. 4 yards of soil infested with fungus gnats. Pretty disappointing after spending all that money for a premium garden soil.

I had several yards of their best soil delivered. I planted flowers and they stayed an inch tall for several months and many just died. I think some of the compost they used had herbicide on it. I had to dig out all their toxic soil. Now I need to start all over, mixing my own soil this time.

I ordered the garden soil to top off my garden boxes, and plant grass seed. The process of picking up and ordering was easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, there seems to be one specific type of small weed that is growing all over where I used the soil. I can't walk on the new seed, so I'm not sure how bad it is in the middle of my grass. However, I have been regularly pulling a small weed from all around the edges that clearly came with the dirt. Overall, a great process, just unfortunate about the weeds.

So much easier and better quality than hauling plastic mulch bags home. Holds up well. I’ve ordered a lot in the past and I’ll be ordering a lot more in the future. Really helps with weed control in the summer.

Love Soilutions!
This is my second delivery order from Soilutions, just enough for another small bed and to top off my existing raised beds. Their soil is wonderful, the people on the phone are so sweet, enthusiastic and helpful, and they are doing a great thing for the city and the planet. We’re so lucky to have them!
