The owner of this location does not follow the corporate requirements for rental: they will need not just the required debit card backed by a national credit card company but an actual credit card, despite the online agreement that you may make.Upon return, the almost new vehicle had a slow to respond fuel gauge resulting in multiple trips to refill the FULL truck so as to not be charged the refueling fee. The owner was distrustful of his customers explanation and was so obstinate about charging for refueling that he failed to imagine that his vehicle might actually have an issue. When the next customer returns this truck and complains about this recurring issue (happened to me three times while using the rental over four days), I hope that the owner of this franchise does a better job with customer service. As for me, next time I will happily take my business to one of the many other U-Haul franchises available in Albuquerque instead of being belittled and mistrusted by this unapologetic owner.

The staff here has one of the worst, rudest condescending attitudes toward customers like me right off the bat. On Tuesday, October 31 I came to pick up a 10' truck at about 10:45 a. m. I could sense the hostility from the staff behind the counter from the moment I walked into the place. I greeted them, I was asked if they could help me. I told a young, skinny Hispanic man that I was there to pick up a truck and gave him my name. U-Haul sends you emails encouraging you to fill out a form online beforehand with your driver's license and credit card information, among other things, "to save about 50% of the time when picking up a rental". He still asked for my driver's license and credit card, I gave them to him but told him I had already entered all that information online. He said he may have access to it "if they were connected to the online system". Then why does U-Haul make it seem like it will save some time to enter all that information online ahead if time? I didn't tell him any of this, but that's what I thought. This young man seemed to have doubts about my credit card, so he turned to a taller White man next to him behind the counter to ask him if my credit card looked ok. The White man said it did, but then a couple of minutes later said "on a second thought, that card may not be ok", then he asked me if my card was credit or debit, "you know, one of those that only has funds when you put money in it". I told him it was a credit card. The whole time, the attitude of both men was rude, unfriendly, and hostile. They gave me the key to the truck but didn't tell me all their trucks come with a padlock and that I was going to receive a text that required my immediate attention to verify the state of the truck. I didn't see that text until I got home and it had already expired. I called their 800 number and asked to be sent that text again, I also told the agent that I had had a bad experience when picking up the truck. She connected me with a manager, who took my call already very angry. He said he had talked to the employees I had interacted with that morning, he defended them yelling at me that they had done nothing wrong, that those employees had never seen a Smith's credit card like mine, and that they had gotten in trouble before because people were using debit cards instead of credit cards. He didn't apologize for the condescending and hostile attitude of the employees that morning, the way that manager treated me was just as bad as the way the employees had treated me. Moving is already stressful enough to have to deal with employees who act like you're a total idiot or trying to cheat and treat you as if they were doing you a favor instead of treating you professionally, like a paying customer. It had been about 7 years since I last had rented a U-Haul l, I had gone with Penske and Hertz, which are superior companies by far. I will never rent another vehicle from U-Haul again

10ft truck was poorly maintained. Both door and ignition were damaged upon rental and caused delays/frustration. Staff stated that all of the 10ft trucks have that problem. Will never rent this size truck again. No ramp and no reliability.

After not getting the first truck to move, I was sent here halfway across the city. 3 people working. 2 at the desk and 1 outside with someone. I'm the 2nd customer inside, and the female here would not assist me. Instead, she wants to assist maybe a trainee next to her. She could easily have had me halfway done or better as more people were walking in. So, most of this is negative on her alone. I'm already 2 hours late starting my move by the time the rookie begins. Then, due to the prior truck in my name on a Sunday, I told me I couldn't get my refund for the other or transfer. After I finally got a new contract and a different truck.Next negative, this is the truck itself. I went around it and it was heavily damaged. I took a video of that. I go to get in, and the damn thing has the same issue the previous truck had. Both did not move asap. Upon pressing the brake and turning the key in each automatic first reverse only. Second, no movement. I ask the 3rd guy about it, and it turns out you need to be rough moving this automatic more like a manual. So that sounds like 2 transmissions about to go out. At least the last truck did not reverse unless I used it. After the guy assisted me, I got to go on my way.

Refused to give me the key to the cargo van I rented. I completed the mobile pick up online with the same payment info from my last reservation, and went in to get the key. They demanded to see my ID and credit card, even though I had already submitted it online. They said they have had too much local fraud and refused to take my Chime Visa credit or debit card, even though I had rented the same equipment with the same card in January from another location with no issues. They said I could rent a box truck for $125 more with my card and that would be fine, though. ?

Needed to rent a pickup truck to tow a trailer, we made a reservation and made sure to TRIPLE check that eveything was going to fine and was told it was. Arrived to this location and was greeted by a very unfriendly woman who obviously hated her job. I spoke with the manager Erik and he was very rude and unprofessional. Obviously very sexist towards a woman driving a truck. He was very rude and kept speaking over me when I had a question and then would tell me to let me him finish talking first. He raised he voice on multiple occasions witch I see totally unprofessional. When asked for the lady's name working they would not give me that information. Told me to call corporate and I will be doing that and filing a complaint against everyone involved in the situation. They didn't make anything clear. And when questioned about it became very hostile and rude. Definitely do not recommend.

We specifically go to this location because the process is speedy, straightforward, and the equipment is spotless. This is our second time using this location and we could not be more impressed.

Every month it is something new wrong with this place. Manager has a policy of inaction and making up policy and hiding behind the fine print in the contract. This month the card reader is broken. Last night spoke to manager and he refused to let me in. Again this morning denied access. I asked customer service for 1/2 month refund. Past broken elevator for more than 2 weeks , an unaddressed water leak in bathroom 15 feet from my unit
