I would love to give more stars!!! I actually would. But i am thoroughly upset.
This is the LAST walmart in all of Albuquerque with self check out so I come here to avoid the check out lanes. It’s always much quicker for me to check out my 20 ish items and get out. Genuinely i scan and get out within 5 minutes. I just wanna go.
Well this crotchety old lady who is beyond retirement age and honest to god should leave this job for someone who actually needs it instead of someone who gets pension and retirement money for social security told me “i’m sorry you can’t check out because you have more than 15 items”. How many items did i have? SIXTEEN.
i told her “maam, the check out lanes are busy, they are multiple self check out lanes open with no one waiting, i have maybe 20 items max, please just let me check out so i can go home” and she told me No. I understand i probably sound incredibly entitled. But the lines for the regular check out were very long and I have a system to get out quickly…
I genuinely don’t know anyone who takes their job this damn seriously. It’s a $15/hr job at Walmart. Just let me check out at the self check out and move on. You work at walmart, it’s not the damn deep. You’re not going to get fired because you let one person use one of 10 out of 15 self check outs currently open.

I've been going to this Walmart for a long time I've never seen so many security guards.

The registers and self checkouts are always packed whenever I come in, so I used pick up for the first time today. Definitely prefer that now, it was quick and didn't have to deal with the public. Thanks to the worker who loaded my groceries, they were careful and polite 👌

Had 2 items over 15 and was refused to use the self checkout. So we had to stand in line for 20 minutes to wait on the 2 cashiers they have working

Horrible customer service. This location wasted my time and took my money. My card was reportedly "declined," so I called my bank, and the transaction was successful, despite the fact that the lady stated it was a pending charge and that I would receive my money back. So now I'm short money for stuff I didn't even receive. The lady with dyed hair was quite annoyed because she had to deal with the scenario like i'm sorry, but you have to do your job. Now I have to wait to dispute the transaction absolute waste of my time.

The bike tubes were in a plastic casing like a lot of things and there was a button to call for an employee and me and my brother sat there for 20 minutes watching like 10 employees walk by and not open the case. I enjoy the store a lot of the time but i cannot stand for 20 minutes for someone to open a case when they feel its convenient.

I went to Walmart today and I feel harassed by a worker at the time of payment because I paid with coins. The woman acted as if I was doing something wrong. Paying with coins is not bad, it is money.

If I could give zero stars I truely would. I decided to go to this Walmart instead of the smiths by my house (big mistake) because the staff is usually really friendly and they r the first to have the new redbull flavors. I go in quickly before work and get dish sponges, dish scrubber, and the new redbull but sugar free bc they were out of the sugar one. I see a redbull fridge on the way to check out and so I decide to check it to see if I can get the redbull flavor with sugar, did not find it but apparently the worker standing there was watching me closely but not close enough. Luckily I talked to the worker in the other self checkout line about them running out of the new redbull flavors quickly (a man with tattoos), he laughs and agrees and directs me to an open self checkout. I pay for my items, get to my car and realize I forgot the thing I came in here for. I run down and grab it (garbage disposal tablets) and go to scan them, this time in the man’s line that was watching me. This time as I’m checking out he’s so close to me that I can feel his breath down my neck which is very intimidating as a young woman shopping alone so I hurry to walk out. He shouts at me asking if I had the redbulls earlier (I had one) I said yeah that it was in my car along with the other things I bought but I forgot this item and didn’t realize till I got to my car. I offered to have him follow me to my car to see the receipt despite me being extremely uncomfortable. He just continues to make a unnecessary scene saying that those redbulls “need to be on there too” I’m not gonna buy more? Especially since yall didn’t even have the one I wanted in the first place. I say I already bought them and he side eyed me while saying he needs to check. He then goes up to a different man (very nice, he was the one wearing I believe a blue mask and blonde hair) who’s self checkout line I didn’t even go through. When he comes over I tell him what I bought and who’s line I went through, he is being super quiet and nice as to not embarrass me further for NO REASON. He goes up to the guy with tattoos that I talked to earlier and that redirected me to an open self checkout and SURPRISE I didn’t steal anything. This whole thing was very unnecessary, uncomfortable, and offensive. He was talking to me like I was less than him, idk if he thought I was stealing because I have colored hair, piercings, tattoos, I wear baggy clothes, or because I’m a Latina woman but none are a valid excuse to assume somebody’s a thief, if he was that concerned he should’ve kept an eye on me till I bought them and left the store. I will not be returning.

The store is clean and well stocked. However, the cashiers could use a little more training in customer service. One cashier told me I was a phony for buying hair color. Seriously. Another cashier always "forgets" to give you all of your purchases. I've had to go back to the store twice to retrieve items I paid for but he did not bag or give me. My advice is go more often, get less than 15 items, then you can self-check out. At least then you will be assured of getting all of your items and not have to stand there and be insulted for buying hair color, wrinkle cream or any other item the cashier does not personally approve of.
