El Alamo Winery is considered the best winery in New Mexico by many visitors, offering a one of a kind tasting experience. The passionate and knowledgeable owner provides an incredible, personal, and one on one walk through each wine, explaining how they were created and what makes them unique. The wines themselves are amazing, award-winning, and delicious, with a wonderful variety to try including reds aged in bourbon barrels, a sweet baco noir, and riesling. The experience is highly recommended and a lot of fun, often described as a treat. Visitors are welcome to bring their own snacks to enjoy after the tasting. Many note it was their favorite winery visited, far surpassing others. The winery delivers an excellent and personable experience, making it definitely worth a visit for anyone in the area looking to meet a true local New Mexican family winemaker.

Best Winery in New Mexico. Joseph’s talent and passion for his wines come through in his tasting menu. If you are looking for a one of a kind tasting experience this is the place. We went to two other wineries after this one and this one was the best by far. Thank you Joseph!
