I am new to the town and decided to do some shopping. I entered the store to spend money, not one employee acknowledged me or tried to offer help. What happened to customer service? When someone enters the establishment take the the time to pause and greet people. I have worked customers service and a simple hello goes A long way. If you do not want to be bothered with the public and only want to gossip with your co workers stay home and call them on the phone. If your choice of employment is customer service smile it goes a long way and ask the person if they need any help. No job is perfect but your attitude about the job makes it a little easier. You have lost a customer that loves to shop. The only reason this place is in business is because they have limited shopping available. They also have limited options to choose from for customers service. Etiquette classes definitely would be a huge help.

I was in there 20 minutes buying clothes for my daughter and not once did anyone even speak to me. Not a “hello, welcome can we help you”? When we got to the register a young lady mumbled something along the line of she didn’t know how to work the register and went and got someone else. I guess you take basic customer service for granted until you see service this bad. We walked down to Ross and the first thing they was “Hello welcome to Ross”. And a lady helped my daughter find what she was looking for. Please spare me the generic respond because you know you have horrible service, I’ve read your other reviews. Curious how much it cost them to have a 3.8 rating considering everyone is giving them 1 star. First and last time going to the Carlsbad NM Melrose.

Horrible customer service. I went to check out and the lady asked “are you done?” I said yes and she walked away and had another girl check me out. Only reason this place stays open is there’s no where else to shop in this town.

Sat in line for about 30mins before someone helped us. ALL the employees stood around STARING at us while there were customers in line! Rude! Get your employees trained in customer service.

I went in here the other day with my children and I heard the older lady with blond hair making very rude discriminating comments about people of color. Does Melrose hire ignorant racist employees? I will no longer be bringing myself or my children to your racist hateful store. She had asked if saying the N word was racist to another employee, I had told another employee about it and she had said she would file a incident report and apologized profusely about what had been said. I know this has happened many times before, from some friends of mine and the older lady was making racist comments to hispanics. Clearly this lady needs to be fired or the store needs to be shut down for good.

I really did not appreciate the way the older women with blonde hair spoke around me or around my kids. I HEARD her make several comments about my children and then continued to say " if you play with it you buy it." I don't appreciate how this older women talked me to my children. I have heard several more complaints about this blonde lady, one of the store associates had to apologize to me for her behavior after I made a complaint.

I have tried and tried to get the hiring manager to contact me on employment. I submitted an application weeks ago. When I just tried to call the phone rang and rang. After 30 min of the phone ringing someone finally answered. I asked for the hiring manager and they said I would have to try back . I than asked for the managers name and they said they could not give me that information. So, I ended up giving my name and phone number and than got hung up on ????? What in the world??? People get it together…. People are trying to work and help and are met with these impossible things to overcome. Unreasonable… smh !

I'm visiting from Kansas. I shopped here on a Monday (late afternoon). There were probably 3 total shoppers in the store (including me). Although there seemed to be a decent variety of clothing, shoes, and other merchandise, I felt invisible. I walked in and immediately spied an employee up front at the shoes. She didn't even acknowledge me, although she clearly saw me. Two other young ladies were working there as well. None asked, "May I help you?" None offered a smile. I asked to try on a shirt and was accommodated. I think being welcoming and friendly is a necessity in running a business, and in brightening the world. I left without buying anything, mainly because the atmosphere was not welcoming. Hopefully, it was just the day.

Good prices but the customer service sucks. No one greeted.. we found a pair of shoes for my daughter but I put them back on the shelf and walked out because I stood at the counter for almost 5 minutes while the workers just gossiped and ignored me. I won't be back.
