We were visiting from out of town and the restraunt was very busy. We opted to sit at the full service bar. The bartender was obviously new and was struggling to service us and the drinks were messy and not made right but there was an AMAZING barback Rio that came in and truly saved the night. He jumped in and cleaned up and caught up on all the drink orders that were piling up. Employers need more employees like him. He turned around the experience we had. I hope he gets the recognition that he deserves!

Solid little restaurant in Carlsbad. The wait time was quick, beers were cold, and food quality was pretty good. The outdoor seating was very convenient for our pup as well. The only real negative was overall service. The host and bartender weren't very friendly and our server seemed new because we had to ask him for all the basics. Water, utensils, etc. It wasn't that bad but thought overall the service was the only area that could use improvement.

Yellow Brix restaurant in Carlsbad, NM is a must! I had the New York strip, which was cooked perfectly with a side of sautéed veggies. The bar was clean, and the bar tender was very conscientious about keeping the bar areas clean. Beer cold, food good, service top notch! Stop in and see for yourself!

Probably one of the WORST restaurant experiences I have ever experienced! Calamari was so heavily breaded with a very heavy thick breading and only had about 4-5 pieces of actual calamari on the plate. The rest was filled in with heavily battered carrots. The Chicken Cordon Blue was cooked to the point of almost being jerky. That was definitely not a bearnaise sauce, like the menu says either. That was definitely a gravy of some sort. Only thing that was okay, but at least edible were the crab cakes. A lot of "filler" in those cakes though. Complete waste of a hundred bucks for the food alone.SERVICECalled ahead to inquire about the patio. If it was open or not and asked of it was pet friendly. They said yes absolutely! They had a couple servers out there taking care if people. Upon being seated both my date and I both asked for some water to start with and asked for a drink menu and placed our appetizer order(calamari discussed above). The little server girl, kaylee, I think her name was, or something similar, came back with no waters, no drink menus, and had two offerings that she just tried to memorize on her way to the table. So I asked if they had any beer on draft or if it was all in the bottle. She said that they had beer on draft but did not know what kinds. So I went the safe route and just had a Bud light. So we wait about 30 minutes and here comes our appetizer. Before the drinks before any water and was just set on the table and walked away. So we have our appetizer. Nothing to drink. No silverware, no side plates. Just a pile of breaded carrots and a couple pieces of the calamari. Almost done with the appetizer (still no silverware or napkins!) Finally.... Something to drink! Asked again for some water though.By this time, it was starting to get a little chilly outside, noticing the nice propane warmers that they offer, we inquired about turning one on. The little server bee bops inside and returns with what I assume to be a manager type person. He unlocks the cage holding the propane tanks, pulls one out, sets it down, grumbles that he doesn't have time for this, and briskly walks away.So I went over grabbed the propane tank and hooked it up myself. Lit the pilot and got the thing running.Still waiting for entrees................. Still waiting ................ Waiting some more..................... Almost 45 minutes later plus the 20 minutes of the propane issue, we finally have entrees. Chicken cordon hockey pucks and Crab cakes that taste like canned tuna fish instead of crab.Guess what? Just guess...... That's right! STILL NO SILVERWARE!!! STILL NO WATER!!!At this point, we just asked for to go boxes and the check.Worst $110 of my life!!!Is this place really one of the top places to eat in Carlsbad??

Good food and a variety of flavors but a bit on the spendy side.

Surprisingly nice. Didn't come with high expectations. Space was clean and service prompt and friendly. Vegan burrito needed a little seasoning but was fresh and crisp. Not a bean or rice in sight - just nicely grilled veg and fresh tomato and lettuce.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian and vegan menu. Most items can just be made vegan by omitting dairy and meat.

Went to Yellow Brix on Easter Sunday. Had already called ahead for a reservation. Table was ready upon arrival but we opted to wait for outside seating. Valerie the hostess/ bartender/manager directed us to the bar. We ordered a drink at the new bar area. After a few minutes Valerie handed us some menus so that we could order and have our food delivered to our outside table when it was cleared and ready. Once our table was ready, Valerie met me at the door with another ice cold beer. The food was fantastic. My wife had a filet and I had a roasted grape salad with steak tips. We were checked on throughout the meal and had a great time.

Delicious food and very nice atmosphere to have lunch and dinner. I ordered the mediterranean salad with the seared tuna and it was flavorful. The tuna was delicious and soft. Will definitely go back.

We had very bad experience with accommodating us for dinner. We called ahead and was told it shld be 10-15 mins. Reached there and host said maybe 20mins. But then the manager came who clearly was not interested in serving us and clearly said it ll be over hour and that too maybe. It feltt like personal attack on us rather than actual accomodation issue. Felt bad as was really looking forward to having dinner here.
