Rancho Manzana offers a peaceful and charming retreat nestled in a quiet, bucolic setting. The property features cozy casitas that are nicely appointed and provide a comfortable place to relax after exploring nearby attractions such as Taos, Santa Fe, Chimayo, and the Puye Cliff Dwellings. Guests appreciate the tranquility and the welcoming atmosphere of the area, making it a good base for sightseeing and outdoor activities. However, some reviews mention issues with the accommodations and host interactions. The casitas are small and somewhat cramped, with no screens on the windows, leading to bugs entering when fresh air is desired. Guests have experienced problems with the bathroom sinks, which often required daily plunging, and some found the rooms to be limited in amenities, with no iron or TV available. The property has a few rules, such as needing to empty trash and paying a cleaning fee, which some guests found inconvenient. Additionally, there are reports of the host being overly involved, inspecting sheets, rummaging through luggage, and making guests uncomfortable. Some guests felt that the host’s attitude was condescending and that communication could be difficult. Despite these concerns, visitors enjoy the peaceful environment, the lovely surroundings, and the nearby attractions. The area offers excellent dining options, such as the Restaurant de Chimayo, and cultural sites like the churches of Chimayo are highly recommended. Overall, Rancho Manzana provides a quiet escape with charming scenery, but potential guests should be aware of the host-hosted experience and the small, basic nature of the accommodations.
We loved staying here last week and will be back. Really peaceful.

The area is remote but welcoming and the cabin itself is tucked away in a truly lovely corner. Inside is charming, nicely appointed, and was a pleasure to come home to after a day of exploring Taos or Santa Fe. I really miss the place and would happily stay there again.

This trip was very peaceful. I stayed in a casita on the property, it was very cozy and comfy. The host Jody was very nice and helpful with things to do in Chimayo and surrounding area.
