Fantastic local bike shop! We demo’d three mountain bikes and had a blast. Got set up with tools, helmets, and well tuned bikes. Rafael recommended so many great routes we checked out, and we even joined the local ride at the slide! Cannot recommend rift enough, what a local gem!!

Most of my experiences have been great, but early this bike season I took my bike in for brake and tire maintenance. Long story short...I brought my bike back the next day after picking it up and the tech told me my tape and sealant was old (mind me I just paid for them to replace the sealant, valves, and brake replacement). He did add new sealant and offered to replace the tape at a discount. I was not charged for the missed services (valve replacement and re-tape). But after two weeks my bike was not properly evaluated. I would recommend inspecting your bike after being serviced here before going on a long ride.

this shop is currently barely open at convenient/useful times for riders and is not responsive to inquires...hopefully, they can resolve staffing/other issues to provide Taos riders needed support. 🤞

Bike sat for weeks nothing done. No calls to discuss work. No parts ordered, the tunes were not even replaced. Then thy tried to upsell me stuff I didn't need.
Typical Taos, good riddance.

I went in to get an opinion of some clicking noise I thought I heard in my Brompton and had the staff check it out.
Turned out to be nothing after all 😀
Inflated my tires and got some merchandise 😄😄

My bike is 7 years old and the awesome folx at Rift Cycles made it feel like a zippier new bike than it was when I got it ?
They also looked out for my safety by checking for anything that might make the bike fall apart while being ridden. I’ve seen bikes fall apart during rides and it does not look comfortable for anyone involved.
Thanks for catching things that I wouldn’t have noticed (I’ll know to look now) and making sure my bike is safe to ride.
Also the It’s not sir it’s not ma’am it’s SRAM stickers make me happy - so also thank you for creating those ?

Just had my Specialized Stumpjumper converted to tubeless at Rift. Too many flats had me immersing inflated tubes in the bathtub to find the small leak and patch it, to avoid the cost of another new tube. Finally made the switch that others had recommended. I probably could have done this myself, after watching videos, but chose to have someone who knows what they are doing make the initial conversion. Reasonable price for their labor plus the new valves and sealant. Hoping to ride flat free for many more miles now.

This place is my absolute go to for all of my bike needs. I have stopped in countless times for replacement parts, random bike problems, and anything else I may need. The staff is always extra friendly and helpful and they even have cute dogs in the shop most days. Huge thanks to Ikhide for helping me get my tubeless tires set up recently!

The crew at Rift just service by MTB and its riding better than ever. I bought the bike new, rode it for two seasons and took it in for a major tune up, clean-up and overhaul, it's riding better than the day I bought it. Ikhide took extra care in finding everything that needed to be addressed and sent me off with a super clean, tight riding machine. I will recommend him for service anytime. I visit Taos 4 times a year and finally bought a mountain bike at a local rental shop. I had a flat and just wanted advice but the techs immediately looked it over and performed work. Although it had a tube, another shop told me it was tubeless. Habib looked at it and immediately pulled the tube out, put a new valve on and applied sealant. Now it was tubeless!
After riding around i managed to bend a good derailleur and called and the next day Rift said to bring it in. I was expecting them to order parts and have me bring it in when I'm back in town. Instead Habib looked at it and explained to me that the protective disk wars bent, but he'd do what he could to straighten it. Within 2 hours he replaced the derailleur with a better one, unbent the disk and tested everything and I picked it up. It rode very smoothly after that.
Overall the expertise of the techs and willingness to service a customer according to their needs is par to none, and I've been to plenty of bike shops. Plus the atmosphere is very Taos and I just had to buy a T shirt too.
