This place has reckless care for the animals being held here. The ferrets all look depressed and dang near dead, the poor birds did not have any water at all! The spaces you put these animals in is cruel and I am just baffled at how the birds didn't have water, you have almost 20 birds all in one area and no water? Inexcusable, the bowl looked like it had been dry for days, I don't understand this. The 6 blue hits are all feeders and they have 1 tiny "water bowl" as you can see it's bone dry.

This is the closest big box pet shop near me. It’s still quite a far drive from my home and I had never been before but needed some feeders for my tarantulas and was hoping to find a good deal on a small aquarium. I was happy with the selection of feeders, stoked they had great pricing on aquariums and was honestly very impressed that they knew what kind of tarantula they had in stock. The guy doing some reptile husbandry seemed to actually care about the critters which is a great thing to see. At checkout, the cashier was super nice. Overall good experience.

Farmington Petco has came up with every excuse under the sun to not sale me fish! Management won’t even call me back to try to fix the problem I’ve reported to corporate. Why, because I make them replace their fish when they die! Which is a lot. because they don’t take care of their fish.
Today I go in there to try to buy fish and was told. “ that corporate has said I can’t purchase fish there anymore because of the turnover rate.
Which I know is a lie! Bold face, as I just got my fish delivered today and have my packing slip from the California Petco! My fish come healthy now.
Buy your fish online it’s well worth it!! Petco people in Farmington know nothing about fish.

Called ahead to ask if they would be selling fish around 3:30ish, was told they were. Arrived and the girl there told us they weren't because the had to stock fish, and was told to return in an hour. I told her we called and asked about this time as it's the timeframe that were in the area, and she just gave us a lame excuse about stocking them. The next day, called again and asked to see if they'd be able to sell us fish around 3:30ish and were again told yes. We get there and they tell us the same ridiculous excuse. Tell me, if you're already working in the fish tanks of which we want fish from, why are you unable to get them? That's twice they've wasted our time because of some ridiculous, un-thought-out excuse.

No baskets for shopping had to carry a 27# bag of dog food from back of store to front. When spoke with associate “They keep getting stolen so not our problem” well actually it is your stores problem. Won’t be back. So solution is only buy what you can carry. Great business model

Had been to the store multiple times to get a rat for my snake and they didn’t have any. Called the other day nobody answered, called 2 times today still no answer… every time I go in there there are multiple employees just talking to each other so I think y’all can pick up the phone.

Went there to look at the fish today, was sad to see they were not taken care of. The tanks are messy and not clean, both inside and out. There was multiple tanks with dead fish, some tanks had more than one fish dead. A lot of the bettas didn't look healthy or happy. I get fish die but when there's multiple that look like they have been there for awhile it's saddening. The tanks need a good scrubbing inside and out. There's a lot of build up. Pets are a responsibility so to see the place that sells them not have the responsibility to take care of them or set an example of how to treat animals raises questions of how other animals there are treated or "taken care" of.

Sells pets that eat crickets but is always out of stock. Great business model guys. Simple solution would be to just order more, but god knows that overhead on crickets is such a gamble.

The fish lady is insane. Wouldn’t sell me a 0.29 cent goldfish without a water test. She should be trained in customer interactions or be let go all together. Very unprofessional for a service oriented position.

Long time customer and the store has slowly gone down hill. Store is always chaotic and always out of stock on multiple items. Lack of knowledgeable staff to help when needed. My latest visit was for dog food and it smelled so bad it made it very difficult to shop.
