We want to thank Melissa for helping us with what we needed for my sick Kitty "Boo Boo". My Grandaughter passed away and we've had her Kitty since he was a Baby. If anything would happen to him it would just make me so very sad.

I recently went to petco in farmington nm. What happened to the day's when the customer was the person who decided on what it was they wanted to purchase. Well that's actually what petco is in busness for, to sell to customers. Isn't that correct? Well that's not the case anymore. If you don't know what size of a fish tank you have. ...your not allowed to purchase a fish..._if you don't know ever fish that is in your fush tank your not allowed to purchase a fish either!! When did it become petcos business what fish you can own? Well I will never go to petco, any where again, because of being refused to be sold 2 fish for my grandkids. They can shove all their animals up their ass..., and go bankrupt I hope, because they deserve just that.. They can deny me fish...because they think I'm cruel to fish...but they can keep poor wild animals in cages, denying them their freedom...when you put poor little animals in glass cages. . You shouldn't be casting stones at others. I look forward to your doors closing for good...wish you the best, and may all doors shut in your face!!.

Not only the people working there but also other shoppers came and helped me when my dog got loose in the parking lot. They were all so nice about it

On 11/19/23 I drove 15 miles from Bloomfield NM to Farmington NM to purchase some fresh water fish for my aquarium at PETCO. I picked out the fish I wanted and after 20 minutes I finally got someone to help me. I told them I wanted to purchase some fish and the told me they quit selling fish 20 minutes ago without any explanation as to why. This was at 3:00 pm. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. No Stars

Used to love it here Not anymore that’s for sure. Never any help when I need it. Always so rude. I have to hunt people down all the time Melissa who used to be the grooming manager used to be cool she’s gotten real rude it has gotten to the point I won’t shop here anymore. It’s sad been a loyal customer for years.! I even wanted to look at a guinea pig and I waited for over 30 min for someone to help me and nothing! I have even Called the store more then once and nobody ever answers the phone. I have seen cashiers just stand there ignoring the phone It’s extremely annoying when I try to come in here and I need some help with a Purchase or I need help with little animals and nobody will give me the time a day. Product all over the isles blocking the isle nothing on the shelves I mean seriously guys come on! This place is always a mess employees smoking outside all the time. The only reason why I still come in here is because my dog loves Hannah in grooming. She’s definitely a sweetheart, such a shame if I were the store manager I’d shut this place down till it was cleaned up and organized right GET BETTER EMPLOYEES IN HERE!!!

I really do not enjoy going to the Farmington, NM store. Every time I visit, the store is unorganized. There are always pallets of inventory all over the floor. It is difficult to walk around and at times hazardous. (Lots of trip hazards.)It is difficult to see what is available because there is so much stuff in the way, especially near the dog food and litter which are near the back of the store. When I first walked in yesterday, I thought they were having a sale on pet clothing. There were 3 carts full of items. I was told the rack broke and they hadn’t had a chance to hang them back up.A dog had an accident in the aisle and I let the cashier know about it, but no immediate call went out for cleanup. I don’t know if it was because she planned on getting it herself? The store never smells clean and there doesn’t seem to be enough employees to do the work that is needed. They need a better manager to crack the whip and get that store back in shape!I would rather get my dog food at Walmart and I hate going to Walmart!

Animal enclosures are so dirty I feel bad for the animals there. Management needs to do something about this store. Everytime I've been in there over the last 6 months it gets progressively worse. Each time the store is dirtier, messy, unorganized and the shelves are bare. The bird cages and fish tanks were disgustingly dirty when I was there 10/28/23.

We love the way Hannah treats our “Duke”. He is rather difficult and she works with him every time we bring him. We appreciate her very much.

I got 6 comet gold fish. The young man who helped me was great. It wasn't even his department. The girl was out to lunch.

horrible. it was my sisters birthday and we were going to buy a fish but the worker wouldn't even let us buy one because our fish tank was too small. first of all they are in little containers where they can't even move around and the tanks that they sell for them are smaller than ours and yet still we couldn't buy a fish. I hate petco so much for many more reasons that just that. my sisters birthday is ruined.

I came here looking to get fully set up for a new aquarium. Their website seemed to indicate that they had everything I needed in stock (it said "free pickup"). Most of the stuff wasn't there. The shelves were pretty bare and looked like they hadn't been restocked in a while. I wonder what would have happened if I selected all of those items for free pickup. The store was dirty, boxes stacked everywhere, not an employee in sight other than at the registers. The entire store looked like a mismanaged disorganized mess.

Bathroom is always dank and grungy, & toilet paper is usually a loose partial roll sitting on top of the dispenser instead of in it (so it can fall on the dirty, sometimes wet floor, and people's dirty fingers have to hold the roll in order to use it).Live pet foods in the small refrigerator (mealworms, earthworms, etc) are very sparsely stocked and most of them are nearly a month since the date marked on them (some much older than a month), with a lot of dead ones visible in the containers. The fridge doesn't seem cold enough. When I bought a tub of earthworms recently, the very next day I found a bunch fluffy white mold growing in the soil as it sat in my home fridge. (I removed the visible mold and thankfully it hasn't grown back in the many days since, and I'm finding plenty of live worms)This past weekend, out of the huge array of offerings of aquarium foods, 98% of the racks were completely empty (they're often sparse, but dang...). Some time recently, the selection of aquarium filters was very small and limited and there didn't seem to be empty shelves; apparently they just keep a very small selection. I ended up having to buy something very un-ideal so I'd at least HAVE something to use in my unplanned situation. Normally I order aquarium equipment on Amazon for this exact reason, but I didn't have opportunity for that this time. One employee beautifully overhauled and organized the big aquarium containing fancy goldfish and live plants, but the very next weekend someone had AGAIN dumped the entire underwater display riser of potted plants on its back so we couldn't see what was in the pots. There are no fish in there that are even close to large enough to do this. I can only assume some employee keeps doing it. Over and over. For weeks in the past, that display riser was completely upside-down, on top of the pots in it, so that nothing in it could be seen or bought, while there were obviously potted plants still in it. I can't figure what gets into the head of someone (or more than one) working there, sometimes. On the good side, interaction with employees there has always been pretty positive and the animals at least seem to be well cared for, as much as can be seen from the customer side. I've gotten a lot of fish and live aquarium plants there, and never had a diseased fish or unwanted snails (though I did recently see one aquarium contained a whole bunch of tiny snails, and I hope people know not to buy anything from that tank because there was no "under observation" sign or anything on it). The other small animals in the store also at least look healthy, and their display containers are always clean. And the one employee they used to have tending aquariums, who constantly gave confidently-stated misinformation about the fish and thoughtlessly endangered the life of a wing-clipped juvenile conure, doesn't seem to work there anymore.

I really like it that REAL HUMAN BEINGS answer calls. Please don't ever change this. Plus, the folks I have spoken with have been professional and very helpful. You've got a great staff!

Just had my Bernadoodle groomed and I have to say, they did a GREAT job and they are so friendly and I know he's not easy to handle. So glad I took him there. He's so HAPPY after leaving. Will be taking him back. Thank you to the staff at PETCO.

I placed an order for a 5 gallon betta tank and all the accessories. I made sure the 12 items I ordered were all in stock and available for pickup immediately because I had a time crunch. The" available for pickup in 1 hour" tagline is a total and complete joke. I still hadn't heard anything 9 HOURS later. As I wanted some live plants anyway, I went ahead and drove to the store. I spent another $50 on live plants and gravel cleaner. Asked the cashier about my online order. She called another employee to get it. 2nd employee asked if it hadn't been pulled yet. Cashier said no...there were 11 orders overdue. 2nd employee went to gather my order and came back with 3 of the 12 items I ordered and said "this is all we have so not sure if you want to cancel the order or not". I said that I made sure to order items that were in stock because I needed them that day. Employee said "just because it says it's in stock on the computer doesn't mean we have unpacked the boxes". I canceled the order but then "repurchased" the fish tank as I wanted that. The cashier was nice and gave me 20% off for the inconvenience. I went home and ordered what I needed from Amazon with next day delivery and received items in one day. I will say that I am not upset at the 2 employees....they were clearly extremely busy and were very polite and apologetic. I have been going to that store for probably 17 years and can not remember a time where there was more than 2 employees at any given time. If you need help, it takes 10-15 min before someone can help you. When checking out you often wait in line for another 10-15 minutes for a cashier to appear and get everyone checked out. This visit, I did see boxes stacked everywhere and shelves in every dept were so bare that I wondered if the store was closing. The cashier was trying to unpack boxes in between checking customers out. Clearly they had a very large delivery come in but I don't know how you expect 2 employees to unpack and stock nearly an entire store by themselves while also trying to help customers. I bought the tank and live plants but I should have returned the entire damn thing. I will say that I don't plan on ever buying anything from Petco again. I spent a lot of time picking out exactly what I wanted and an hour of my time, plus gas to end up with nothing but disappointment. That store needs to be managed better and have more employees. I know Amazon has hurt local businesses but there is a clear reason. When I can shop from home and have it delivered the next day, why on earth would anyone order local and end up with nothing but frustration? If it's possible please delete my account in your system because I don't want to receive emails or regular mail from Petco anymore.
