I shop at East Main Safeway at least once a week. Last week as I grabbed an empty grocery cart at the south entrance, I looked up and a man pushing a loaded grocery cart was stopping to look down the aisle to see if anyone was looking his way. There was no store personnel at the Florist dept or in the nearby produce dept. either. He proceeded to push his cart out the door bypassing the check outs. Oh dear, I thought, I guess it's happening here too. I did report this, but I had to pay for my groceries

I've lived here over 20 years and Safeway used to be the cleanest, friendliest grocery store, but it has gone downhill and off a cliff in the past few years. The lines are ridiculous and employees walk around hiding their lanyards so you won't ask them for help. Managers are not accountable for their inaction and incompetence. I'm going to move my prescriptions to another pharmacy so I don't have to shop there anymore. This is a failing store.

Terrible. Long long lines. Self checkout closed. Unfriendly people. I'll gladly pay more and go anywhere else.

I'm very disappointed with Safeway. The push to make us scan and bag our own groceries is ridiculous. Not just quick, small orders but big ones, too - unless you want to stand in line for the one checker who is open. Plus using reusable bags is impossible because they trip the scale on the bagging area and stop you from scanning. Aren't we being encouraged to reduce the use of single use plastic?? Today I was told by the nice lady in the bakery that they are no longer "allowed" by corporate to make and sell their delicious marble cake with latticed vanilla and chocolates buttercream-my favorite treat. Not allowed. That's what I have been told when I have complained to managers about lack of checkers or whatever: this what we've been told to do. Apparently individual stores are not allowed to serve their customers now; they are just following 'policy.' I will try to shop elsewhere from now on. Oh wait - Albertsons?? Ha! Across town I guess to Smith's.

Just bought groceries Tuesday at 8:30. You would think the short female cashier could at least say hello or thank you , but I got nothing . How rude. Won't be back. She can shove it

I usually do my grocery shopping here as the selection is better than the Safeway on the west side of town. However, today I tried to order a cake at the bakery. I went up to the counter and flipped through the book they have on custom cakes. I was staring blatantly at the custom cake prices/information. There were THREE people working in the bakery not a single one of them asked me if I needed anything. I stood there for 15 minutes!? Then I left and ordered my cake at Smiths. I might just do all of my grocery shopping at Smiths from now on.

Nice clean store, great variety, well stocked, clean bathrooms. Very good stop along the way to Durango, especially with Starbucks inside.

We stopped in specifically to buy some fresh bread. We found what we wanted and picked up three loaves all marked $1.79. We took the bread to the bakery counter to have them sliced. After waiting for almost 15 minutes for the person to slice the bread (even though there we no other customers present), the guy slicing the bread informed us the loaves had been mislabeled and the price was actually $1.99 each. Usually we wouldn't even worry about 60¢, but it was just the principle of it. It wasn't our fault the bread was mislabeled. The person behind the counter did not even offer a small apology, the attitude was more like, "Oh we'll, not my problem." So, while the quality of the bread was good, the service was very bad. We will not be going back to this Safeway.
