About Gallup Aquatic Center

Gallup Aquatic Center offers a $5 shower, cheaper than truck stops, though the water is cold. The facility is clean and nice. Staff are great, but the lap pool closes early; members want it open later, until 2100 hrs, and a lower monthly fee. Many people swim aerobics on Sunday, but some worry the pool may close because the city cut lifeguard positions. Families enjoy swimming, but guests should call ahead to check the schedule and weather, as rainstorms may shut the pool down.

    I only went here to take a shower. They offer a shower for $5, versus the truck stops $20. Was good enough, water was plenty wet. My only complaint is that the water doesn't get hot.     Great facility with a great staff. I just wish the lap pool was available into later hours in the evening; like until 2100hrs. Then I could make greater use of the facility. A lower-rate monthly membership fee would be great as well.

    Kids love it, but showers need work. Water is cold and timers are short.
