Reserved a truck weeks in advance. Came in at 10AM on the day of the move and was told they don’t have a truck for me! No trucks! I was told I could drive to ElPaso and get one but I had movers coming to my house at 11AM and they charge by the hour.Luckily UHaul on El Paseo save the day and I was able to rent the truck (and the size I needed) and be to my house by the time the movers arrived. Should have used them in the first place.I was never called and informed there was no truck for me. I just had to show up and find out when I got there.STAY AWAY! Moving is stressful enough without a place like this. This place WILL ruin your move!!! Go to UHaul!!!

Arrived at Las Cruces Budget (Mesilla Valley Mall) at 11:45 A.M. to be ready for pickup at noon. I was informed that the car would not be ready for one more hour. No problem. Arrived an hour later and was informed they had to pick the vehicle up from El Paso and it was going to be delayed 2 hours. We were expecting to leave by 12:30 that day and did not receive the vehicle until 3:30 P.M. resulting in late departure and missing dinner plans that evening. Also, if you call the onsite location, you will most likely be directed to their call center. Overall, the staff was kind and honest but obviously did not arrange our vehicle prior. Keep this in mind if planning a trip. Pick up as early as possible to avoid disruptions to your schedule.

Do not waste your time. They will let you down and with attitude to add onto it. They have no shame. Leave close sign up on a wide open door just to confuse customers. A supposed “Julio” employed there ruined my sister’s business trip day. Also never answer their phone calls.

Amazing employees! Just when I thought there was no more kindness and compassion in the world, I get proven wrong. The employee here was just a great person! He took his personal time, long after he should have been out of work, to help my husband and I. He tried everything until we were on our way in the right vehicle. Without having to explain our situation, just because he saw we were in need, he was compassionate and understanding. I wish every interaction and all people were like this, it sure would make the world a better place. Thank you!

Had a reservation, neither Axis nor Budget rep were in the building when we arrived. We waited more than 5 minutes and eventually both employees came inside from the front entrance. All was well, until another customer came in. He had an arrangement that was covered by management, yet the employees still rolled their eyes and said they didn't have what he had spoken to the manager for. This caused the customer to become visibly angry and they started to speak clear threats into the office. At NO FAULT toward the customer, this still made my entire party uncomfortable. My party and I decided to leave for our safety, and then we were charged $75 for being a "no-show".Just go to U-haul, there is no cancellation or no-show fee, and they probably won't charge you for the opportunity to indirectly endanger you with terrible customer service. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I went in really nervous due to the other reviews. I'm driving my kids to college and needed a big, clean, reliable SUV. The attendant was professional and helpful (despite my grilling). The car not only met my expectations, but exceeded them in terms of cleanliness and size. The rental process was quick and professional. It was definitely a five star experience.

DON'T RENT HERE. Save yourself the time and headache. I didn't read the reviews ahead of time, and I was fooled by their (at the time) lower rates.What they don't tell you when you reserve is that they close at 12pm on Saturday and Sunday, yet they allow you to reserve a 12pm pickup time. Naturally, when you arrive at noon, the door is locked and they won't acknowledge you.This is the only location in Las Cruces, so I didn't have any other options. The lady at the 1-800 number did try her best to find me a vehicle for tomorrow, but that's too late. From other reviews, I see that they close up shop whenever they feel like and don't answer their phones.Luckily, I was able to rent with U-Haul and get a truck within 2 hours. More money, but they have follow-through.Shame on the employees and owner of this Budget location. Literally looking at me through the window at my reservation time and just leaving out the back door. No customer service, no courtesy call, and no dignity. Can't wait till they go out of business.

Did my due diligence and shopped around making reservations with mutliple shipping options just in case if something happens with one or the other company. Made the reservation for a box truck and a car carrier with Budget a month in advance of my expected departure. Called a week before departure to confirm everything was still good so I could cancel the other reservations and the operator said everything was good. Go to pick up the day of the rental and find out they don't have a car carrier and haven't had one at their location for over a year and half. No call from the store representatives saying anything was wrong or they wouldn't have what I needed for my trip across the country. They did not offer me any alternatives or options. By that time, all my other reservations were cancelled so I couldn't get any help. Spent two extra days trying to find other options and had to spend an extra $1200 for an auto transport company to move my vehicle. Also lost all my existing hotel reservations trying to secure travel for my other vehicle and had to book 5 new hotel reservations to cover the lost reservations and two extra days. Stay away from Budget unless you want to pay double what their competitor company is asking.

Worst car rental location ever. Don’t expect good/friendly customer service. Budget should be embarrassed to have their name at this location. Not sure if I would ever use Budget/Avis again after this location. There is no drop box, no one answers the phone and they leave and lock doors whenever they want, so they can drive up prices. This location is a disgrace.

Make sure you're there before 3pm... who knows if they'll be open... unfortunately we did not get there until 3:40. Doors were locked & there's no key dropbox. We still had to get another car (personal) to unload everything, made it through a snow storm on time, for us only to have to drop off the car, turn around, & drive another 4 hours home, for me to return the with the fob the very next day. Didn't catch the dude at the counters name but he also cleans the cars... he likes to argue. I didn't even go in there with an attitude. I was calm, low tone, & even tried explaining what had happened... & immediately he was defensive, didn't want to listen, & wants to argue.Guess I should have just left the fob in the car for anyone to grab like customer service had said...By the way, when I made my reservation, I requested a Nissan Rogue or something similar (not that it needs any explanation but I needed the space)... they had nothing but cars... okay, fine, we'll make it work... then, the car was 3/4 of a tank... then we found out, there was a hole in the tire somewhere & it needed constant refilling... this whole experience was a mess and this truly has been one of my worst customer experiences.

Purchased insurance on the budget website then they tell me it's not their insurance but a third party. Navigation didn't work at all. The most important part of a rental is navigation!
