Brought a found puppy in to have her scanned for a chip (which their website says to do). The employees congregating at the register were too busy complaining about their low hours to notice me... then told me they don't have the scanner. Here's a thought: If you pay attention to your customers (because, yes, I did purchase things) you might have better hours.

I like going into Petco, but I feel the price of their products are way overpriced. I think they are too overpriced, so I do not go very often.

Good store but way too expensive.

Seeing the animals in the store is very sad. The only criteria for selling the animals is if you have enough money. You don't have to have any knowledge or experience in how to care for the animal.

They stopped carrying the treats my picky eater liked. They offer decent variety of kibble, canned and frozen options as well but it's all definitely more costly than items available in grocery stores. They have the Honest Kitchen product we use, available locally. The Chicken base is the only option in the large quantity and the other meat-based options are too high price point for the quantity. We have yet to get grooming services, but must have shot records submitted first. One female representative has been very helpful and adjusted the harnesses for our new rescue pups. Overall one of limited stores in the area that carries better quality dogfood.

Went in today to get a harness and asked an individual to help. He thought the best way to help me was send me to the guy at the register who was busy. After waiting through customers the guy at the register couldn't help me because he said he couldn't walk away. I don't ask for much. This was Unacceptable.

They clip their parakeets wings, if you get one make sure to get it ladders and setup their cage to accommodate their lack of flight.

I did not find a collar small enough for my dog. It was disappointing.

I’ve gone to a few groomers, but they didn’t have soon enough availability. PETCO did so I figured I’d try it, but a few surprises throughout Petco’s process. When you schedule online, the prices are different. I usually pay between $120-$140 for two xs-small dogs depending on the package. Only one needed the service, I paid $112, and other groomers give either a bow or bandana which is just an extra nice thing they do that PETCO does not does not provide. PETCO sends an email for you to fill out forms so the initial drop off is quick, they still have you resign in person and pick everything so it seems redundant and unnecessary to fill out online. I was given a two and a half hour time frame, they took three and a half which is no fault to the employee; they probably need to hire more, but consider your appointment to take half your day for grooming and that’s not usual timeframes at other groomers. Picking her up, the haircut was uneven and I was asked how I wanted the hair around the face, I explained I needed it short so she can see and eat better and there’s three different lengths, I don’t mind paying for more if you get appropriate results, but unfortunately it seems she was rushed and do not do a thorough job.

When they're good, they're awesome! Service at this location is hit and miss. Sometimes the employees are super helpful and nice, and sometimes (even the same employees) they ignore you for their phones, they can't answer questions that are vital to pet care, and they talk down to you as if they surely must know more then you when obviously not all employees are knowledgeable in an areas and most customers are experts of the pets and breeds they care for. Good luck! Still, possibly the healthiest pets in Las Cruces. High quality supplies and pets, but marked up 40% (No kidding!) from PetSmart. Pick your poison there, I suppose. Great veterinary services, if a little pricy.
