“Just had my first overnight at the charming Castaneda Hotel. I absolutely loved it! Just the right amount of updates to the history, but the history is front and center, and you really feel the grandeur and convenience of this important railroad hotel. I'm a sucker for railroad hotels (see the one in Wilson, KS, which we book annually in the summer). I can't wait to go back when the restaurant and bar are operational, later this year. Very happy to have found this mini-break getaway from my beloved Taos.”

“Pretty old hotel, great coffeeshop on the ground floor to sit and quietly write postcards at. Historic Las Vegas is an interesting place, older than the known Las Vegas, and so wild of a place it would regularly scare Billy the kid away.”

“The hotel is beautiful and has a very charming historic aesthetic! Cool history of movies and TV shows that were filmed there and celebrities that visited and what rooms they stayed in.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the only modern amenity that I noticed missing was a microwave.

The location is perfect if you're looking for quaint small town vibes and cute shops and restaurants within walking distance.

They had a small private parking lot behind the hotel for free if you were a guest.

My only complaint is that the pillows provided were three small throw pillows that were quite uncomfortable! I MacGyvered something with my jacket, but a nice big pillow would've been much better!

The staff was very kind, helpful, and communicative!”

“Price was $173.00 for night. I thought it would be nice place but it was just cheap with a lot of interior decorating. Elevator was loud! Room was ok. Bathroom drywall joints were peeling and in the main room as well. Two tv remotes, confusing. Room fan made loud noises. I figured out it was the cover vibrating. The best thing they offered...red and green chili for breakfast! Wooohooo!!!!?”

“The sweetest little motel. The service is great, lady who works at the front is so kind. They have been accommodating to us and our 2 dogs. Hot coffee in the lobby in the morning. Great place to crash for a couple nights and catch your breath. Clean rooms.”

“This place is a great place to roll into at 1:30 AM for a clean room, a decent breakfast and then get back on the road to finish driving home from the border. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The price wasn't too much for the brief stay. I don't really have details beyond that because my experience was limited, but I am likely to return.”
