I do not recommend this location, or VCA in general, unless you enjoy being nickel and dimed for every little thing that they can think of. Their rates for labs and X-rays for even normal appointments border on pet ER pricing, and they will try to just shove an iPad into your face with every lab under the sun listed even if they might not be necessary at all. The vet will make you feel like you’re not doing enough for your sick pet if you even try to talk to them about different options or cheaper labs rather than sitting down with you and having an honest conversation about alternative steps moving forward. The entire time we were there, the vet made us feel like she didn’t have the time for us and didn’t care to fully answer our questions.

Do not bring your pet to Town and Country unless your pet needs dental services. Every time we took our dog in for an appt. Something was wrong with her teeth. In the middle of our ðog having an en ormous cyst removed, they wanted to take more teeth out. Also, if you do not have the money to pay for a treatment, even in an emergency, they will not see your pet. They use no discretion and talk load, so the entire lobby knows your financial situation. They wanted to charge 900 for tests, and we could not afford it right then, and they said we denied service. They need a box to mark "can't afford." There is a difference, and you leave there feeling belittled and judged. After 2 years with them , I won't go back.

Thank you to Dr Lincoln and the front desk staff (Ariel, specifically) for taking care of my dog Zion so efficiently. We were camping in the San Juan Mountains in CO when Zion had an onset of gagging and shortness of breath at 1130pm Tuesday night. My husband and I knew it was emergent and left immediately and we're unable to find ANY vet willing to take him in the middle of the night from Durango to ABQ- they even hung up on me when I called! We arrived before VCA opened and explained what was going on, they told me the nearest 24 hour clinic but due to the arrival time it was faster to wait to have Dr. Lincoln take a look at my boy when he arrived for the day than drive to the other clinic.VCA was fast, though and efficient, they followed up and prescribed additional meds for us as well. Thank you for your excellent service.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They completely take advantage of the clients vulnerability in wanting to their tend to their sick pets. I should have known better than to bring my cat here after another VCA location lost all medical records of him ever being a patient, but I was worried about a mark on his nose and was told the VCA is one of the only places that has an oncologist and it might be helpful to be seen there in case he does need to deal with anything cancerous. Unfortunately, after I made the appt my cat went missing in the hot sun for 5 days so when I arrived our appointment needs were a little more complex. My kitty was dehydrated and was struggling with digestive issues. My whole appointment felt rushed and like the doctor did not give two shits about my cat. She called him a she multiple times and never once used his name, just kiddo. I think she touched him for maybe 5 minutes. In my very quick consult (15 minutes or less) with her she determined he probably has arthritis, needs full body X-rays and a serious of a million other tests. They brought me a bill of $1000 which I definitely couldn't afford, so I worked it down to $700. I had a list of questions I went in with and the only thing that was paid attention to was what was going to get them the most money from me. I had to call back to speak with her to follow up about all the unanswered information and never received the microchip number I specifically asked for 3x. No instructions were given to me on how to do his stool sample, how to administer his medication and no follow up call was made to check on him.In addition, when I went to pay I used an Affirm Credit card so I could split the payment into 4. I told this to the whole staff before I paid but when I went back to pick him up, they said I owed another $185 and the front desk girl was so rude to me when I asked while no one discussed this protocol with me. I then contacted management and was referred to a regional manager who seemed concerned and apologized for the experience and told me I should speak with the medical director. The medical director then gaslit me and told me how great her doctor was and that she'd have Michelle contact me for further resolution. I had to take my cat to TLC pet hospital to redo everything because nothing they did actually helped and I felt like they could really care less about my cat. I spent half the price and both visits the doctor spent 45 minutes to hour with me, followed up when I left and never said anything about full body X-rays. When I reached back out to follow up the office manger rudely interrupted me, told me that they gave great care and that he's only willing to refund the office visit, which by the way is 3x as expensive as any other vet in town or any vet in LOS ANGELES. I did call and ask 10 different vets for their pricing in ABQ and after living in LA the last 3 years, I've never received such a high bill with such little patient care or follow up. Avoid this place like the plague. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

We had two terrible experiences here at this location. HERE IS THE WORST:The entire staff -- admin, techs, and the significantly unprofessional vet with his rear end hanging out of his pants were extremely -- and it seemed deliberately -- unhelpful. They had REQUIRED a follow up appointment to have stitches removed, then when we arrived for said appointment the vet actually asked me why I hadn't just removed the stitches myself at home!! (note again, with his rear end crack highly visible and when he turned towards me, plenty of tummy visible). I had to take time off of work in order to accommodate this appointment, by the way. They were not the only people working that day.The vet and his tech (who was openly flirting with him, I believe they had a date planned for later that evening) began to talk rudely about me in front of me, and then would not help me with my dog. They locked the lobby door behind me when I walked out!!!!My dog was very scared due to the weird circumstances and I could not get her in the car. I knocked on the door solidly and even called into the office. The girls at the desk could see me and I could see them ignoring me, and so they left the counter so I could not see them!!!!! A stranger in the parking lot ended up volunteering to help me with my dog. He also seemed very angry and indicated he would be looking for a new vet practice.BOTTOM LINE: USE A DIFFERENT LOCATION for VCA.

VCA has been my choice for health care for all the cats we have owned for at least 23 years. I have had Care Club for several years for my remaining two cats, but have decided to not continue that service, since it is very expensive and I am on a limited income. Yesterday I get a reminder for my cat’s appointments and along with the reminder I get this: Please give us a call if you need to cancel or reschedule by 4pm today. Please be advised we do have a no call no show policy, and according to our systems you have had 2 no call no shows. If we do have another no call no show, we will have to require a deposit of $118.28 (our exam fee) for future appointments. If you do show up, that deposit will be used towards your appointment. If you do not show at that point, you lose your deposit. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day. I only have recollection of one missed appointment and that was my fault, because I thought it was at a different time, but really 23 years of being a loyal customer doesn’t count for anything? This is not your neighborly veterinary clinic. They have gone too corporate. I had a good experience with the doctors and vet techs, but perhaps I need to move on.

This place will try to take all your money. Do not go here. I have a large breed dog and they kept pressing the expensive puppy food and charged me ridiculous prices for shots and visits. My dog broke his toe I got X rays and they put a splint on him for 1k and said it I was going to have to go back weekly to re wrap it for 75$ instead of just showming me how to do it. Then come for a follow up X ray for another 280$. The vets are pushy and rude as well. Staff and techs are nice but some have no idea what’s going on. I would not recommend.

Terrible place to take your beloved pet. They do unauthorized procedures, and charge you for it. They do not show you invoice before you pay. Will not ever be doing business with this clinic again.

Once your dog gets to see the Vet, service is caring and excellent. The front desk, not so much. An appointment was set up and email recieved noting 2 times; 10:30 and 11:30. This has happened before. I noted this to the clerk - she said "it is the system" and could care less.We will take our dogs elsewhere.A plus to this visit was a flyer was posted noting what dogs cannot have - and ours got into some guacamole causing the issue, so problem solved - thank you for that.

The moment Dr Rael walked in , she was absolutely RUDE, so uncaring for my sick kitten. She has no compassion, straight forward about prices and was in and out of the room, less than five minutes. I will not be taking my kittens back to her. She's in the business for money and not caring about fury pets.

Ariel might be one of the nicest most helpful people I have ever met! She is so beyond willing to help. I have 7 dogs and scheduling can be a nightmare... Ariel helps to make everything work around my hectic schedule. My dogs love the staff at Town and Country. They treat my animals like they would their own. Couldn't ask for any better!!!

We have been bringing our dogs to VCA for several years but will not be after today. They have always been expensive and upcharge at every possible chance. They have always been late in bringing the dogs into the room when I have been on time for scheduled appointments. Today, they cancelled our appointment and expected us to wait for up to 3 hours to be seen. They only offered one option to reschedule and when that did not work wanted to charge us extra to be seen on an emergency basis. When I asked for suggestions on possible best times to visit so the wait might be shorter, the staff was uncooperative and simply repeated it might take up to 3 hours I don't usually bother writing reviews - bad or good- but this was the worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. Go somewhere else -- as many others have noted - they are pricey, late and rude.
