Pecos National Historical Park is a well-cared-for site that offers beautiful views and fascinating history. The park features interesting ruins, a Pueblo site, and a Spanish mission, along with a tour of the historic ranch house of actress Greer Garson. Ranger-led programs are engaging, especially for children. The friendly staff at the visitor center enhance the experience, making this under-the-radar park a must-visit destination for history lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
We visited on a whim and hoping the rain held off. We couldn’t have had a better visit! The visitors center had interesting and informative displays, and the trail around several sites started at the center. Such a cool experience to learn about the Pecos Pueblo and its people.
