The food is fantastic. Who'd have ever guessed there is great Mexican food in Red River NM.

We drove 11 hours, stopped in at 7 for a 7:15 reservation. Sat down and the waitress took 15 my just to come to the table with waters. The food took over 1.5 hours to get the the table. Chicken tasted very off, super nachos seemed microwaved and the meat tastes old. Most of our table felt the food was inedible, mentioned this to the waitress (she never came back after our food arrived to check on us). She took off two of the Chicken quesadillas with not even a manager coming to the table to ask or say anything. We will never come back to this restaurant again, completely disappointed in everything.

Cute little place and one of the only places to eat Tuesday night. The salsa is bland for a Texan but just add some salt and pepper and you are good to go. Fiesta salad was plentiful and not bland. Sopapillas are the end are complementary and so good if you put some butter and honey on top.Host and server were both lovely.Would go back and would recommend.

Christian was a great waiter. We heard the steaks were good. Instead we chose the fajita combo special. Flavorless chicken and beef. Literally.. no taste. Not even fajita seasoning. Meat was tender but no love. The rice was white rice that had been mixed with canned tomatoes They didn’t even try to hide the white rice. We ordered a side of green chili sauce and got old green chilies as in on the verge of going bad. Shame on you. It’s New Mexico the chili capital of the world!! We should’ve gone back to Red river brewery where they do know, green chili stew, anyway. This is definitely not Mexican food. Not even close. Should’ve tried the steaks.

We went on a Tuesday 2/6/24 evening around 5:15. Hours say they open at 5. The restaurant was already full. The person seating is informed us he was short staffed so our party of 2 might take a bit. We really didn't have to wait long and we appreciated him letting us know. We had a very nice/friendly server. Our food arrived quickly. It wasn't anything special but tasted good. We are native New Mexican's and prefer our food spicy but as often is in a NM tourist town they need to be on the conservative side as far as spicy and hot is concerned so we expected that. Food was tasty and portions were normal and fine for us. Since it was quite crowded parking was a bit of a challenge. We would have walked but it was very cold, snowy and slick walking once away from main street.Sopapillas were good as were our tacos, combination plate and sangrias. I appreciated choices of meats or guacamole tacos.

Great food, even better drinks, a cozy atmosphere and super fast and friendly service. My new favorite spot in RR!

I’m not one that writes reviews but after reading some of these reviews I changed my mind. This restaurant is excellent. All dishes are prepared mild for all those whimps out there, but did you know you can ask for it spicy??? No you didn’t, because you are on here writing a bad review about how bland the food is. One review mentioned outdated???? Really?, it is very nicely decorated with the owner’s art. I really dislike those of you that have nothing better to do than go around and write bad reviews without even letting the establishment try and make you satisfied. Please don’t let these reviews stop you from trying a great place and remember if you like spice, you need to ask for it HOT!

Nice place with good vegetarian options. But food was blank for me. It was tasty but just didn't reach my expectations for Mexican food. Rest was awesome. The vibe and the service was on point.

I used to love Sundance, but this last time well, it will be my last time. 130 bucks and my portobello fajitas along with beans rice etc was all sent back to the trash. My friend had the new York steak she said it was good. My margarita taste like dish water didn't even drink it. My plate had zero flavor. My friend tasted it as well and ask "how did they extract flavor out of those beans? " absolutely no flavor at all.. the onions bell pepper etc..and yes I added salt. It's weird. Sundance used to be the place I sent EVERYONE for creamy Chipotle and the best steaks..I let my server know. But.. what could he do? I hate to leave a bad review.. but I'm not gonna lie about it. They really used to be the best IMOVegetarian options: It's worth a shot. Maybe the cook had an off night. ?

The food was TERRIBLE. The worst Mexican food place I’ve ever been. We took one bite out of our food and didn’t eat anymore. Tasted like everything was canned. Do not recommend. How can you mess up a sopapilla??????Parking: No parking lot

Everything was gross. The beans looked and tasted like they were poured right out of a can. Chili sauce tasted like a paste made with chili powder and water. Everything was flavorless. Salsa was disgusting. I'm confused as to how this place is still open.

The chili rellanos were good! The salsa was not chilled and was not flavorful at all! There is potential but need some spice. 9/10 on the Salmon though! Was not expecting that at all Mexican restaurant!
