What a treasure! The Anderson collection is eclectic and compelling and full of whimsy and imagination. We were introduced to many great contemporary artists and could have spent all day with their work. A must-see if you are anywhere in the vicinity. And by the way, admission by voluntary donation.

This museum was a real surprise. The concept is great, all the pieces are created by the Artist in Residence, selected by the Anderson team, each year since the 1960's. The diversity of art is incredible and there were so many beautiful and interesting pieces. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend going.

Honestly, the best attraction in Roswell and it's FREE! Seriously, we fell into all the other tourist traps that Roswell has to offer and this was actually worth it. I wish I would have saved my money at all the other places and just donated it to this unique little gem of an art museum. It's very eclectic and bright. There's so many awesome pieces that even non art fans will enjoy! Well done, well presented. Definitely check this place out!!

This is the best contemporary museum of art that I have ever visited. My dad and I were tourists in Roswell for the UFOs and a woman at the art gallery on Main Street highly recommended that we visit this museum. Thank goodness she did! We walked in not knowing what to expect and we were completely blown away with how large the museum is, how impeccable the facility is maintained, and the art was incredible - there were some forms of art that I have never seen before. And it's free to enter! I bought a magnet of Lucky that is proudly living on my refrigerator door now.

We came here about 2 hours before closing. We were supposed to leave for another town the next day but I REALLY wanted to hit this place up! I'm soooo glad we did ! I love a good Art Museum & this one is it. If you're looking for a more contemporary style this sure is it! I was actually shocked at how some of the art stuff wasn't like new new. Some of it was 60 years old! Which I know isn't ooooold, but I thought like maybe the oldest would be 20 years old. And actually the one I feel in love with was from 1967 I believe. The Art & Staff here are amazing !! They are so sweet & nice. They saw my kids, teenagers, and asked politely that none of them touch any of the art pieces, but this one musical one. My middle child couldn't stop touching it. lol Towards the end I bought some postcards & stuff. Later I came home, & was going to give them as gifts but now I want to keep them. Oops. So make sure to buy 2 of everything lol if you are buying them as gifts. You may be like me & end up wanting to keep them. SMH

What a fantastic museum that we stumbled upon in Roswell. Brilliant work by involved in the local artists-in-residence program and other artists in the area. The docent was so helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits and the tasteful way they were displayed.

This was the highlight of my visit to Roswell. Amazing collection of works from the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program from the last several decades. You could spend hours here, there is so much to see. The staff are wonderful and are available to answer any questions you have. This is why you should visit Roswell, instead of all the UFO stuff.

One of the reasons I travel around the world is to see art -- especially museums. A lot of museums in smaller cities have art by local artists, and it often isn't worth a trip to see. This museum is different: The artists who come to Roswell for RAIR (the Artists in Residence project) are obviously great, and their work is basically all you'll see here. The label next to each artwork tells what year the artist visited. After spending three hours here, I didn't have time for other venues. And the helpful staff person told me about even more art attractions. See the photo of a card listing them. (I'm guessing there are also galleries not listed.) I'll have to come back... maybe I can get an alien to beam me over so I don't need to drive all the way to this out-of-the-way place.

Wow, when our camp host suggested we visit here, we didn't think we had time for a boring museum. We're we WRONG!!! This place really has it all. Some of the pictures and exhibits were really something to see. If you get a chance, GO, And it's free. Of course, donations are excepted.

I am passing through Roswell but had a day to spend. Had fun seeing many of the expected things. But I had noticed, during my trip planning, that this museum got (at the time) 127 reviews with an average rating of 5. That caught my attention. So I mad certain that my visit included time here. Well worth it. This is one version of an excellent museum of contemporary art, both in content and presentation.
