My husband was about to deploy and Ruidoso was our last little getaway. We went to Midtown,I’ve been looking for a turquoise bracelet for a couple years now and none of them were exactly what I wanted. After three turquoise shops on the strip without luck, I lastly found this one. The ladies were so friendly and helpful. The best inventory & prices. I came for a bracelet and left with the matching necklace. I’m so happy with my experience here and it will remind me of this special trip with my husband and our baby son.

After stopping at another shop in the main shopping area we walked about another block to find this very nice store. The service was excellent and bought a few very nice quality pieces.
The weight and workmanship surpasses the other place we stopped (in a previous review).
I would highly suggest if your planning on purchasing some quality pieces, take the walk and try on a few items and see and feel the difference. The service is also 5 star.

The best jewelry store in Ruidoso. Wide selection in every price range. Something for everyone. Absolutely beautiful quality pieces in silver, gold, turquoise, and all colors of polished stone. Mitchell’s folks are so friendly. Helped us find the perfect gifts for our adult daughters, and gift wrapped them beautifully for us. Thanks, Mitchell’s!

While the jewelry in the store is fabulous, I was taken aback by Nancy's question to me (an African American woman): "is this credit card stolen?"I found her question racially insensitive. I will never enter that store again, and would recommend others not patronize the store either.

Mitchell’s offers a great selection of quality jewelry. The pieces are unique, creative, and their prices are quite reasonable! I’ve made several purchases here and always bring out of town guests by to shop! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This is a fabulous store! You should not miss it! Linda & Kathy were great! This is my third visit to Mitchell’s! I have made a large purchase each time! It’s like the sign on the outside says” enter as strangers, leave as friends”. They let me freely shop at my own pace and answered all of my many questions about the jewelry and it’s history. Today, I purchased a “Daniel” collection…….of Daniel Ortega and another artist named Daniel. Their jewelry has always been the highest quality and most unique. I receive many compliments on the jewelry from Mitchell’s each time I wear them. I would highly recommend this store to anyone that is looking for high quality and very stunning and unique jewelry. The staff are so sweet and very knowledgeable. They are a pleasure to work with and shop in their store!

I am very disappointed to write this review because of one woman we encountered while we were visiting the store the week before last. We were in town for a family trip and brought our 7 month old son in with us because the store was otherwise empty. It was one of his first in-store experiences ever, because of Covid. We live in a place where Covid case numbers have been extremely high, and we take social distancing very seriously, hence, why we were both wearing masks throughout our entire visit to the store. There were 3 saleswomen in the store at the time, and the woman who was helping us as well as one more were so sweet to our son, and very respectful of his personal space in regards to social distancing. A third woman who has chin-length white hair completely disregarded his personal space, and without a mask, got right in his face to say hello and even tried to touch him. My husband kept backing up the stroller to display to her that we were not comfortable with her uninvited proximity to our unvaccinated infant son, but she just kept moving towards him and avoiding our cues. Eventually, I told my husband to leave the store, because I am a new mom and was unsure how to appropriately and politely handle the situation and for some reason felt awkward/embarrassed.Everyone else had been so kind and respectful, and I had already chosen the items I wanted to purchase. I ended up spending over $300 on jewelry at this store after this incident, but felt compelled to write this review because the more I have thought about it, the more inappropriate I think the whole encounter with this particular woman was. I do love my jewelry, but in retrospect, I wish I had not made the purchase because this woman blatantly violated my infant son's safety and health. To the owner and the entire team here, PLEASE respect social distancing, consider masks when you have young visitors in the store, and never, NEVER put your hands on or your face directly in front of a customer's child. We are living an a pandemic, and regardless of your personal thoughts on the matter, children are incredibly vulnerable and should not be subjected to your disregard for their safety, simply so you can get your kicks from ogling a cute baby. This could have been easily avoided, and we will not be visiting your store in the future, and will be sure to urge our friends and family to do the same.
