Alpine sports is by far the best ski retail store in Northern New Mexico. The staff is all well trained and well informed and the owner is by far the best boot fitter I've ever had the opportunity to work with. He has also trained his staffed to meet the same high expectations. When it comes to getting your boots dialed in, there's no better place to get that done.

5 stars earned, and well deserved. Been riding 30+ years and this is the best service I’ve ever received at a shop. Why? Austin was gold. A custom boot fitting, foot to boot sizing, and thorough explanations. Knowledge about the intricacies of all boot, board, riding styles. No pressure on the sale, just help and a clear love for the sport and rider. I’m truly impressed with the customer service and willingness to work in a budget. You get massive value added with these guys. Thanks!

Unpleasant experience. The store smells like a dirty gym and the guy I spoke with was weirdly rude. I didn't quite understand why... The place is nothing like it used to be, but I hadn't been there in quite a few years. I was ready to buy some ski pants, but I just put them back on the rack.

The first time I bought Skis and boots a few years ago, the place I bought just made sure the boots fit and made a sale. The Atomic boots never felt right, and I was always struggling to parallel ski. This year I decided to find a better boot that was comfortable and didn't wreck my legs. Jeremy at Alpine Ski in Santa Fe went above and beyond in measuring my feet and analyzing my stance. They have state of the art equipment to measure my feet and mold the boots for a perfect fit. I bought a pair of HEAD boots and skis. After doing a few runs I went back to him for a further adjustment free of charge. Alpine Ski staff are experts in fitting boots. I got molded insoles and I feel like a pro with my setup. I can't say enough about how patient and kind they were to my needs and understanding the common issues associated with ski boots. I live in Canada, and they can teach the Canucks a thing or two about ski equipment. I been to dozens of ski shops and they guys put them all to shame. I just wish they had a shop in the northeast. I definitely will be coming back for all my future needs. Cheers.

Stopped in today hoping to buy some new ski clothing and the selection isn't what it used to be. I would've been happy to see what options were available but not a single employee bothered to ask me if I needed help. The whole point of going in to a store instead of buying online is customer service and it's unfortunate that I couldn't get any.

It's frustrating to try to shop at a locally-owned business and be met with smug and indifferent staff. Support SkiTech, or in a pinch REI, but pass on Alpine.

Bought a pair of Fisher ski boots. The owner personally fitted my boots. They have a comfort guarantee. I have been back many times since for adjustments because the boots hurt. I believe I was sold a size too small but they refused to take them back.

Knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with endless questions. Best boot fitters in Santa Fe. Highly recommend getting your boots here!

Respectful staff and good service. Had my boot fitting done here and bought my first ever pair of skis. The process was professional and painless. I dealt with over 4 different employees over the week and each one was as knowledgeable and friendly as the last and willing to give very solid advice. Cant recommend enough.

TL;DR - Truly terrible service, took half a year to fix a buckle.I brought in a ski boot with a bent buckle in early July for what I thought would be a quick repair. Took me 20 minutes to convince the woman behind the desk to accept my boot and fix it (a small fix from what she said, but seemed unwilling to do it).6 weeks later I haven't heard a thing and when I call to check on it I find that the part has yet to be ordered. After the boot has been there for over 2 months I start calling frequently and get very little helpful information in return. After 4.5 months I'm told that the boot is finally ready so I drive up to Santa Fe to pick it up only to be told that it is in fact still being worked on.After 5.5 months (now into December) I finally pick the boot up.To their credit, the work seems fine (not amazing but workable) and they didn't charge me. Hence 2 stars instead of 1. But I am still mystified as to how I could drop a piece of gear off in the middle of summer and not get it back in time for the start of ski season.

Didn’t carry Voile straps in stock, and the lady was confused when I asked for them. 1 star for not carrying the essential ski accessory

I've been in this store twice in the last year and both experiences were terrible. Yesterday I went in, had multiple employees look me in the eye and not only did they not greet me, but they turned away and avoided my presence altogether. Each time I've managed to get an employees attention and talk to them about getting fitted for snowboard boots, I was BARELY able to get a word in. Staff was condescending and unhelpful. I could tell they didn't want to bother letting me try anything on without signing me up for an hour long fitting where I'm sure they would pressure me to buy something. Also, they told me I could sign up for a fitting in the store rather than online - but didn't offer to help me do so. Unfortunately, Santa Fe is limited as far as ski/snowboard techs - but I will be joining many of the other reviewers who say to go to REI instead. I'd much rather spend my money "locally" than at REI, but in this case I will HAPPILY take my money somewhere that treats customers like human beings.

I wish I could give Alpine Sports 10 stars!! Their staff is beyond knowledgable and always happy to answer questions/provide their professional insights on gear! Bought skis, ski boots, and poles in March. If you want the best ski boot fitting of your life, go see Emily. Today, I went back because of some plantar fasciitis issues in my current running shoes. Austin custom fit me some insoles and recommended some compression socks that almost immediately started to relive my pain. Without a doubt, a locally-owned gem of a place!
