Staying here was a dream! Beautifully restored adobe bungalows outfitted in style. My suite had 2 bedrooms, a living room, and its own patio. Mini fridge, TV, and toiletries, but no hairdryer. Room was a little dark but added to the mood. The property is well kept. Lobby has a seating area with fireplace and adjacent bar. Complimentary coffee in the lobby, plus coffee packets in the rooms. Dedicated parking. The pool was closed for the season. I'd love to return!

My family and I have stayed at the motel twice and we just love it! Such a wonderful and beautiful property that has been renovated. The room and beds are clean. We did run out of hot water but in the grand scheme of things, it was a wonderful stay this time. I would recommend trying to get a room away from the road. Otherwise the staff and little bar is wonderful and so worth it every time. Is this the most fancy motel ever? No, but is a wonderful and unique spot to stay. A great one night spot for a stop in Santa Fe. I will definitely stay here again as I love the charm and feeling, as long as I get a room away from the road!

This Hotel was amazing I can't wait to stay here again. Was just in town for a few days and stayed at El Rey and its an older hotel that's been remodeled and absolutely just loved it. My room even had a fire place in it. They had a live band that played on Sunday night it was amazing and the drinks at the bar were amazing as well. I will definitely be back here.

This place looks very pretty. It's on a very busy road, so rooms near the front of the motel are noisy. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, pillows are not. We stayed with extended family in 3 rooms. One room had only intermittent heat, and a toilet that flushed every 20 seconds all night. In another room the gas fireplace didn't work. Staff made lame apologies, said there was nothing to be done about the fireplace, took their time to do repairs, which didn't fix the flushing toilet problem. The front desk staff spoke politely with a f--- you attitude. Ice machine is kept together with painters tape. The drink machine is broken. The machine that delivers laundry soap is broken. When we tried to do laundry, the machine threw a fuse, ditto for the drier. That led to more shrugged shoulders in the office. This place was very expensive. The property needs lots of infrastructure improvements- looks pretty but doesn't perform. I do not recommend.

We stayed at the El Rey for over 25 years, 9-12 days each August.. Each time, they took our reservation for the next year before we left, and this worked well. We loved the hospitality, and our room (we booked the same room every year). This last time, we WERE due to stay there again (early August, which is high season), when management cancelled the reservation for part of our stay only 10 weeks ahead of our high-season reservation because they had just booked the entire facility for a wedding during that time. They did NOT even offer to help us find an alternate booking at that late date. This was the last straw for us. In our opinion, after the "original" owner (the last member of a family to own it for generations) sold it to retire about 5-6 years before this event, the place had gradually gone downhill: the free breakfast was eliminated, the charming old-West room decor (including much art and craft in each room was replaced by a nondescript 1960s-type barren "anti-aesthetic", the comfortable sofa & chair were replaced by the above, gradually all (or nearly all) of the long-term staff had left, and once our arrival was greeted by a bathtub full of bugs. All the while, the El Rey raised its prices (pre-pandemic). We have now found another property to use for our annual Santa Fe vacation, and we don't miss the El Rey at all.

We stayed here two nights. Staff were friendly and working hard to clear sidewalks. Our room wss nimer 34 and it had two beds with firm mattresses. It was easy to find a parking spot for our large rv van hauling bikes in the back. Not a modern hotel but water pressure was good for a nice hot shower. Little courtyard areas about to sit around. Loved the old tile in the bathroom. Clean, spacious, quiet and quaint.

I booked this over the phone and when we got there, the clerk acted like she knew nothing about it. We did get a handicapped room which was nice and spacious. Very modern looking. The bathroom with the walk in shower was lovely. It did need a shower chair but other than that, it was great. The heater was over the door and you had to use a remote. However, as much as I tried with it, the fan did not come on. I got up on a chair and turned it on from the unit. It did work and kept the room nice and toasty. I found the hot jacuzzi which is in a splendid setting outdoors. Even though the temp was in the 20s, I went in and it was wonderful. There was ice and snow in the walkway which should have been cleared. Fortunately, I didn't fall down. That seemed like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I did think we would get vouchers for the food truck on site but she said it was not operating now ( only in the summer?). Other than the receptionist, everyone was very friendly and the rate was good for Santa Fe . It is a great location but still a ways from the Plaza. We have stayed at other places in SF in the past but this one is unique and definitely Santa Fe.

The coolest hangout spot in Santa Fe in my opinion. Super solid bar, great decor, and the gift shop is amazing. I definitely. will be coming back here every time I'm in Santa Fe.

Room was clean and comfortable. But overall I didn't feel this hotel was a good value for the price at all. There are additional "resort fees" for various vague amenities that you may or may not use. The hot tub was closed, and after inquiring with the front desk whether it would be usable, I could overhear the manager in the back room brusquely reply No!Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful, but it's clear that management is just out to make a buck. However, the worst part of our "resort" experience was in the hotel bar. The place was only half full, but the bartender completely ignored us for 10 minutes before we gave up and left. I felt as if I'd stumbled underdressed into a hipster West Hollywood cocktail lounge. And her salary is essentially being paid from my "resort fees".I didn't try the "complimentary" coffee, because I was so turned off by the bad vibe.

I was so excited to try out this hotel, but was sadly disappointed. I arrived for my checkin at 4 (which is already kind of late), and my room wasn't ready. They told me 10 minutes. I came back, still not ready – was told another 10-20 minutes and that they would call me. I went back outside and after another 30 minutes I went back in again. 10 more minutes, again. It was 5 pm by the time I got to my room. I no longer had time to nap and shower and make it somewhere for dinner, so I decided to go relax in the hot tub. The hot tub was more of a warm tub, and I was super bummed because it was one of the main reasons I decided to book this place. A few pros though: the cocktail bar is adorable, the entire premise is really well curated and unique, coffee at the food truck in the morning was really good, and its really great that they are dog friendly. I just don't think I'll justify paying that much again for a motel when the pool is closed, the hot tub isn't hot, and the pizza at night was closed for the season too. :(

A beautiful gem of Santa Fe is riddled with extra charges including being charged extra for the TV in the room. They charge extra for the swimming pool even though it is November and the swimming pool is locked up for the winter. These charges are NOT optional.

My daughter and I returned to El Rey Court in Santa Fe after a very nice stay in 2020. El Rey had some very good renovations done about that time. The rooms still had the Southwestern decor with many improvements in the interiors. Our room was spacious, had two sinks with lots of mirrors, plenty of great light fixtures, new window shades, a couple comfortable chairs, and comfortable beds. We like the courtyard with lots of chairs, tables, and trees for leisure. The Turquoise Trailer (food truck) was a great addition to El Rey. El Rey Court has a spacious pool, although we visited in October. There was plenty of parking at no extra charge. We will definitely return to Santa Fe and ro the El Rey Court. We highly recommend that you stay there too!

Room was clean and nice, but in my opinion, not worth the cost of the stay. Some staff were difficult and unaccommodating at check-in. Even though my partner and I arrived on time for check-in, we were told that our room wasn’t cleaned yet and we had to wait an additional twenty or so minutes before being checked-in. About four or five guests were assisted during this time.

On the upside, the exterior of this place, and the architecture, are wonderful. It has tons of charm, and we enjoyed just walking around the motor court and visiting the Turquoise Trailer. Also, the staff, both at the front desk and the bar/lounge, are outstanding and fun to talk with--it's a great scene. The rooms, though, are so-so to disappointing. We stayed for two nights, and our room with it's low ceiling and lack of air circulation felt kind of tomb-like. Also, forget about wi-fi--it was tough to connect, and there was no signal strength. Pretty much no wifi at all here. It's possible other rooms are better? But, although it is charming, the rooms here aren't much better than any low-end motel.

Santa Fe, NM is not a cheap destination, and the hotel rates reflect this! We were attending a wedding in Santa Fe and were shocked at the hotel prices for what we thought was off-season, late October. After researching the available hotels in Santa Fe where the rates were $450 plus a night, we found the El Rey and its rate was just over $200, we booked a room at the El Rey and couldn't have been happier. True, the El Rey wasn't right on the Plaza and it was a drive from the wedding venue, but we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel anyway because all the wedding activities and we found our room to be sparkling clean, roomy and very comfortable over all. Also the El Rey was very accomodating for out late check in.
