I can’t believe they don’t have anyone greeting you here. I can confirm all of the reviews are true. Understaffed and unprofessional. The only reason I am here is because my NP uses them, which I will be telling here to rethink.

Made an "appointment " for a blood draw. Staff here is always nice, but waiting now for 30 minutes. Always happens. I think they are perennially short staffed.

Had appointment this morning but place was closed when I arrived even though they sent me messages reminding me of the appointment. There were no road issues from snow.

It was very disconcerting to enter the waiting area and be greeted by a computer screen, rather than a live person. This kind of automation feels dehumanizing.

Santa Fe Phlebotomists were very friendly, polite and competent. Albuquerque Optum techs were not able to draw after 4 tries. Painful.

So, I was told that “some” of the blood work was NOT covered by Medicare! And the tech asked for payment up front for one of my blood tests!!! I called Quest and they said that NO ONE SHOUKD ASK FOR ANY PAYMRNT AS THE QUEST BILL MUST BE SENT TO MEDICARE FIRST!!!! Then Medicare determines how much is covered. Then payment would be made to Quest via a bill sent to patient!!! This in UNACCEPTABLE on the part of the Quest lab we go to. The tech also said that “a lot of Medicare patients are being asked to pay up front there at Zia Road Quest. He even suggested Medicare patients were seemingly being “weeded out” of the Quest labs! . This is apparently NOT the way things are done at Quest labs. So we are TOTALLY UNHAPPY with this Quest location. We will be taking ALL of our business ELSEWHERE!!!

They appear extremely short staffed. Had blood drawn for several tests. Went back to Quest 3 days later tests because results not showing up on their web site. Was told they lost everything, order, blood samples, all, I would have start over, get the order from the doctor again, and to take all tests again later after I made another appointment. Called a Quest centralized customer service number and was told they have all the tests, but one had a problem, but can not tell me what the problem or how to fix it?
I now have to go back again for at least one test, maybe all, and they give out conflicting information and do not follow up on anything, or make any attempt to help fix huge mistakes. This is obviously not a well run lab with some serious issues if they lose tests and blood, or are not sure if the tests are lost. Worst by far lab experience ever.
8/21 Update Went back for test they lost 3 weeks ago, drew blood again, test involves to separate parts and they lost one. I have to go in for THE SAME BLOOD TEST FOR A THIRD TIME DUE TO THEIR GROSS INCOMPETENCE AND LOSING 2 PRIOR BLOOD DRAWS.
These tests involve life altering news and treatment, which I can not get until the rest of the test results are in. However I have enough results from the one test they finally did and other tests to know I need to start treatment asap and each day things are delayed cost me a day of life. THEIR GROSS INCOMPTENCE HAS ALREADY COST ME 30 DAYS OF LIFE AND COUNTING.
Also in their portal they may send tests results in 30 days after they are supposed to be already posted if you have made a couple of additional follow up requests through their site. My doctor office has said Quest is the most messed up lab they have ever dealt with. They spent 45 minutes trying to get them to schedule the appointment they messed up twice. I have spent hours of on the pone trying to speak to people or speaking with them to get them to correct their mistakes. This company and lab is a complete dysfunctional broken mess. Only lab in Santa Fe who does the test I need.
8/23/24 update, went to lab for blood draw today. Doctors office had sent 3rd lab request earlier in the week (3rd time due to Quests gross incompetence by losing 2 prior blood drawn samples), doctor office followed up at my request to be sure they had newest lab order, they lost that order of earlier in the week, doctors office sent another) they now have had 4 copies sent or delivered, 45 minutes of doctors office on phone with Qeust, said my case is now red flagged everything was set and would work. As a precaution my wife dropped off same order again yesterday, they are now in possession of 5 orders for the sametest they keep failing at doing. When I arrived today with another copy of the same order in hand just is case, I was told they had no other order, or in other words THIS LAB LOST 5 LAB ORDERS AND SO FAR 2 BLOOD SAMPLES. NOTHING SHOWING QUEST CORPORATE HAD PROMISED OF A RED FLAG ON MY CASE TO BE SURE IT GOT DONE THIS TIME. AVOID THIS LAB AT ALL COST THEY CAN NOT DO THEIR BASIC, ARE CLUELESS ON THEIR OWN SYSTEMS AND PAPERWORK AND IN MY CASE HAVE COST ME A MONTH OF LIFE WITH MY FAMILY.
8/28/24 Update. Had to go back for another test, only lab in town that does it. Doctors office sent over lab order, and when I arrived learned they lost it. Santa Fe Quest has lost every single lab order or we have dropped off, total of 7. I came with a copy of the order in hand as we have learned is a must with this highly incompetent mess of a company. The person drawing my blood today was rude, I asked for a couple things like when can I look for test results and she basically told me to shut up. She never answered 2 basic questions, and seemed to not know much.

Was visiting SF and it was convenient to get blood taken while on vacay. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the facility convenient, clean, and efficient. They turn results around quickly and their app/website is pretty good. Integration with Apple Health a differentiator vs. using hospitals or other systems.

Justin was an exceptional phlebotomy technician. Professional, kind and personable. Appointment scheduling was easy and I was seen immediately upon my arrival. Clean and fast. :)

These guys are consistently great! I always know that I’m dealing with seasoned pros when it comes to blood draws as well as customer service! Kudos team! PS There are inconsistency issues when booking appointments between the website and app. Hope that gets fixed soon!

I was unable to make an appointment on-line. Every time I selected a time, it said that time was no longer available. I walked in and signed in. There was only one other person there who they took right away. I waited over an hour and realized they were taking other walk-ins who arrived at least 1/2 hour after I arrived. I asked a staff person why and they said I had to have an appointment even though the sign-in kiosk never said that. That was a total WASTE of time. I will chose a different lab next time.

I had an appt today and I checked in with ease on the digital iPad like computer. The Phlebotomist did a great job and everything went well, including handling the bill and getting the right receptacle for my 24-hour test. Thank you!
