“We saw Dr. Montrose on her last day at this clinic. We wish she was staying. She made an accurate diagnosis, explained fully what was needed and provided immediate, necessary care. We will try to see her wherever she is working next.”
“Dr. Hinko Cat,and April have been an integral part of keeping my aging cat (approaching 19 years) alive and well even with multiple health and aging challenges. The clinic is affordable and the staff is kind, competent and compassionate. They have become like family to me. This is the last Ma and Pa Veterinary Clinic that I know of in Santa Fe. Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart. - Julie and Chè Pershin.?♀️?❣️?”
“Very good with my animals. You can tell they love their jobs! Straightforward check in and pickup process. 1 star off because there was a mistake with the medication for one of my dogs but they answered right away and fixed it without a hassle”

“Dr. Thal saved my horse Gunner. Gunner broke a molar several years ago and I failed to get care for it based on some bad advice. Gunner stopped eating on December 5th this past year and then had two bouts of colic, because he had stopped drinking water. I called Thal Equine after making another mistake in Gunner’s care. I was told to get Gunner to them as soon as possible. When we arrived he and his team made us feel welcome. They examined Gunner. He was a very sick horse. Before they took him to his stall I hugged him and told him I love him and I would be back for him. Honestly, I was unsure I would ever see Gunner alive again. Dr. Thal explained the surgical procedure to remove the molar. It is a complicated procedure which involves boring a hole through the horse’s sinus to reach the root of the broken molar. Then the remaining bore hole has to be filled with an acrylic substance to seal off the sinus from the mouth.
Removing the molar was complicated because the molars on each side of the broken tooth had begun to grow inward toward the broken molar. Dr. Thal had to perform two surgeries to remove the tooth. He called or texted me after each surgery to update me on Gunner’s condition and the surgeries. After the second surgery to remove the tooth he told me he wasn’t happy with the seal and he was going to take Gunner back into surgery the next day and get a better seal.
I brought Gunner home a week later after several surgeries and a couple of days in ICU. Dr. Thal sent us home with a well written set of instructions for Gunner’s care post surgery. Dr. Thal also returned every phone call or text I sent him when I had questions or concerns about Gunner during his recovery.
I rode Gunner yesterday. The day was pleasant for February. I had my friend back. Gunner and I shared those magical moments of connection and peace you have with a horse. This was all possible because Dr. Thal is a very gifted and dedicated equine veterinarian. He is compassionate and passionate about the care for his patients. Dr. Thal literally saved my horse.
I hope he is in practice for the years I have left on this earth with horses. I feel a sense of comfort knowing that Dr. Thal is within easy driving distance from my home, if I one of our horses needs care. Thank you Dr. Thal.

“Our dogs are regular patients at Gruda. Had to take our Pug in yesterday for a routine exam and check-up. First time with Dr. Jillian McGregor and she was fantastic! So very sincere, knowledgeable and caring of our little guy! Also, very patient with all my questions. Nice work, Doc and frontline staff!”
“Dr. Kelly and staff were amazing. Couldn't be more pleased with our experience for our cat Blue. This is the place to go for cancer care!
Thank you Dr. Kelly and Staff!!”

“From one visit, I'd say this is the place I would take a pet you're concerned about in Santa Fe. After multiple visits to eldorado vet and Route 66 in ABQ, it continually felt like no one was even looking at the tests and images they took and charged me for. At the time of writing this, the best way to have a pet seen is to show up and be ready to be admitted at 7:30am. Due to their corporate ownership they are understaffed, like all of the vets in Santa Fe. Dr. Breer and the tech who's name I've really unfortunately forgotten were the first people out of 3 vets that showed care and concern for my puppy, and more so, also could tell I was pretty taxed myself and offered to let me step out and eat for the first time in the day and take a bit of a breather. We are on to a 4th vet for more tests, but under the circumstances, this was the first vet visit since my dog's illness that was caring and had a direction to pursue. Thank you.”

“Audrey is awesome! She has really made a difference in the quality of life for my senior dog who has cancer. He is 13 and even though he was never a high energy dog, he has slowed down considerably since his diagnosis. I wasn't sure we'd see any change in him, but I was willing to try.”

“Been coming back here again after using another local vet for a while. Vet care in this town has gone down hill hard recently and just having terrible experiences. So gave Smith a second shot since I used to really like these guys, and have always really appreciated how I could just walk in there when I needed to. My two recent experiences here have just been stellar. Great docs. Great assistants. Great receptionists, too! Just took my dog in for an infected lump that really needed to be seen, and couldn't have been happier or more impressed. They are super busy, like all the other vets in town, but somehow managed to not compromise great customer care. UNLIKE everywhere else I have tried. Yes, I tried to leave Smith Vet but so glad I decided to go back. My dog is happy too! I know where I'm going in future.”
“Best experience with an Avían Vet in NM! This guy is amazing. I Am truly impressed and felt like family from entrance to exit. The vet tech was amazing too. I really felt like the staff are a team who love their clients. This is the place. I found my Beto a Super Vet!”
“Dr. Levin has been Gracie’s vet for several years. She is thorough, compassionate, and truly cares about her patients. Gracie absolutely loves her! Claire Eddy Thaw is also wonderful and plays a big role in keeping our boxer happy and healthy. We’re so grateful for their excellent care.”
“I have only visited this office once but I was very happy with the service. My dog had a wound that needed addressing and fairly quickly. I called her normal vet's office twice and the second time they told me they could not see her and to try somewhere else. I was able to schedule a same day appointment here, even though she was not an established patient.
The vet saw her and addressed the issue. They even gave her a rabies shot when I asked, since she was due. I was already happy with the service but was even more impressed when someone from the office texted me to check in on her a couple days later. I will continue to take my dog here.”

“I’m so grateful to Dr. Jeannette Kelly and her team in Santa Fe for the extraordinary care they gave our dog Susie. When Susie received her bladder cancer diagnosis, Dr. Kelly didn’t just lay out treatment options—she took the time to really understand our concerns, answer every question, and walk us through each decision with clarity and patience.
Because of Dr. Kelly’s expertise and thoughtful guidance, Susie’s story did end with her initial 3–6 month prognosis from another vet- she lived a full three and a half years more. Memories we would not have had without Dr. Kelly’s care.
Dr. Kelly provided medical expertise, empathy and just as important… hope. Her staff was attentive, compassionate, and always welcoming. Thank you Lana and Kai!
Dr. Kelly closely monitored Susie’s cancer over the years, making changes to her treatment when needed. We are forever grateful for the extra time we treasured with our beloved Susie girl.”

“Smith is the best! We had been looking for a new regular vet for our dogs for several years since the vet we used to love went out of business. We tried a couple other places in town over those few years, but had some trouble with both of them. I'm so happy that we found Smith Veterinary Hospital because they have been fantastic! The vet we saw, Kelsey Dobesh, really seemed to care about our dogs and she addressed all of our concerns. Both she and the vet tech, Marisol, were really kind and thorough. The prices seemed about the same as what I've paid at other places. I feel so much better knowing that my dogs are healthy and that I have somewhere really great to take them to when they need care.”

“Dr. Martin is a down to earth, straight talking gem of a vet! We just moved to Santa Fe and after going to a vet in town, which was a horrible experience, we are thrilled we found Eldorado. They really seem to care...and remarkable as it is these days, wont rip you off in the process. Kind, experienced and were very aware of our specific concerns and needs, prior to, during and after a surgery. Been to many vets over the years...it doesn't get better than this place!”

“My cat ? Milo was so sick, very high fever, I didn’t think he would make it, the Doc was excellent, she diagnose Milo quick she gave him medicine to help him get better, I love that no matter your pet will get seen, also it’s affordable…Thank you Doc. Milo is running around so happy now with his brother….”
“I first met Dr. Cameron under difficult circumstances, when my beloved horse seemed to be mildly ailing, but turned out to be very sick and had to be euthanized. Dr. Cameron's swift response and clear communication helped me give my very best boy as peaceful and easy an end as was possible and I'll always be grateful. More recently my cat needed some teeth removed, and again, I found the care she was given to be exemplary. All the staff members I interacted with were professional and kind.
In the midst of a vet shortage, particularly an equine vet shortage, and knowing how difficult the profession can be, I feel very lucky to be a client of Cameron Veterinary Clinic.”

“We love Dr. Apodaca and Bailey! They’ve been so responsive and wonderful to work with over the years. We get the two dogs (one mini poodle and one Aussie poodle) teeth cleaned every other year and shots done there. They are a great team that work there and always professional. The prices are similar to other places in town but with better service. We love coming here”
“Dr. Garcia is always so kind and realistic at the same time about
the health of my 20 year old cat. By the way, my cat is still hanging in there and has been an Eldorado patient his entire life.”
