Can't beat the location. Nothing is closer to the lift!

It’s ok. For the price, a decent mattress would be nice. Furniture needs updating/ cleaning. Kitchen was well stocked if intended on cooking most meals. No one at the front desk in the mornings is strange. Glad we did a lot of research before we came. Location is very close and was the best feature for new skiing families like us.

Honestly, this hotel could use some upgrades, but if they did that, we'd be paying double, so it's fine with me. We booked a 1 bedroom condo for 4 nights over Spring Break. With taxes and all, I think we were a little over $400 per night. Yea...that's getting up there in price, but for comparison sake, The Blake, which is a very nice resort was asking $800 per night before tax for a room with two beds in it. Just a standard 2 queen room. So, you get what you pay for, right? Well honestly I think you get much better than anticipated. I've stayed at many mountain properties and have been lucky enough to stay at a ski in and out property only a few times. This place is the closest I've ever been to a lift. It was beyond awesome. Especially traveling with Teenagers. They could come and go at will, and everyone could go back to the condo for meals and rest without it being any sort of trouble. The condos are independently owned, so maybe that has a lot to do with your accommodations. We had room 205, which was quiet, and in good shape for a ski condo as they can get beat to heck. Our 1 bedroom condo did not have a view, or balcony as it was on floor two. That would've been nice, but still for the price I cannot complain. The staff at the hotel are hit and miss. Some incredibly nice and helpful, some not so much. Another small complaint was that the pool and hot tub were also closed. We were told because of "COVID" which is probably complete crap. They're probably closed cause you don't have the staff to open them. Kind of getting annoyed with COVID getting blamed for everything these days. :) Anyway....like I said. Regardless of all the flaws, for the price you can't go wrong. And honestly, the place is just fine, and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again.

The Snakedance Condominiums is at a great location, steps from Lift 1. The plaza where it resides contains everything you need for apres ski, food shopping, and restaurant meals. The rooms contain two or more bedrooms, a full kitchen, fireplace; perfect for a family or a few friends. The only downside is the balcony is 1 ft by 5 ft. Our room was convenient and quiet. I would highly recommend staying here when skiing at Taos.

Stayed in SnakeDance the week of 02/12 - 02/19/22, in a two bedroom, two bathroom unit. The location of the hotel is excellent. Everything else is old and tired. As soon as we walked into our unit we saw torn worn out carpeting patched with duct tape. The unit was very hot and we could not control the temperature. The only way to cool down was to open the patio door or bedroom windows. We would alternate between freezing or cooking. The dishwasher would not close correctly and would not work. We had 4 adults staying in the unit. The master bedroom was very nice and had an attached bathroom but no door. The second bedroom was small and did not have an attached bathroom. That bathroom was a common bathroom directly across from the kitchen. So while cooking or eating a meal we had a great view of the toilet. The unit had a non working gas fireplace. This was a known problem and they inserted a cheap electric insert that did not generate any heat. When we booked this property a pool and hot tub were advertised. They were closed the entire time we were there. The entire place seemed like it needs a refresh. It needs new carpets and maintenance on all appliances. Book a much nicer and updated room in the Blake hotel right next door.

My family stayed at Snakedance Condominiums for 6 days over Christmas. All in, the cost was over $5K. Our condo was decent sized with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and slope side, so I expected to pay a premium, but for more than $800 a night, I expect a nice place. This was not that. We had broken furniture, only two of four burners on the stove worked, the sofa had am 8 inch change in elevation from the edges to the center and the TV was the size of a postage stamp. Carpet was dirty and frayed, the whole place was shabby and not maintained. On top of that, the manager, Jennifer, was clearly having some personal issues and felt it was appropriate to take it out on us. She was rude and hostile. The restaurant in the building - the Historic Hondo should be renamed the Horrible Hondo. The food was inedible (and expensive). The Blake Hotel, right next door, would be the much better choice.

My wife and I own a hotel, and we are very picky when it comes to the cleanliness of places we stay on our own vacations. Snakedance was perfect. The room was spotless, the location was beautiful, and we had everything we needed and then some. If I'm ever in Taos again, I know where I'll stay.

We are staying at the Snakedance because my Husband is a contractor working on a project currently in the ski valley. We are enjoying the 2 bed 2 full bath layout with full kitchen and living area. There is a fire place in one bed and living area. Two doors open up to two (non-usuable) balconies. One bedroom has operable windows for fresh air. We are located on the 3rd floor and it's very quiet. The kitchen has almost everything you need, minus a cutting board and sharp knives. The carpets and furniture is pretty beat up, but it's a ski lodge so I understand. They were ok with us bringing our older dog, too, which makes us very happy. Beds are twins that you can push together. They are comfortable and have plenty of covers. Pillows are not that great. The manager Ashley gave us toiletries at the front desk when we checked in, soap, shampoo and lotions. There is no parking at the condo, you must park down the way in a lot after unloading your stuff. We didn't mind it, just an FYI.

We enjoyed the location for skiing. Steps from the door to the main chair lift to take you up the mountain. Our unit was clean and well furnished. The parking was a short walk but they would drop you off and pick you up if requested.

When our trip had to be cancelled due to Covid-19 Mitch with Snakedance authorized a full refund even though the trip was non-refundable. We had booked through VRBO and they were not working with us on the refund at all. Mitch called and emailed VRBO on our behalf more than once and emailed and called us multiple times to let us know what he was able to find out. He did not even have to authorize the refund much less spend his time helping us deal with VRBO and Expedia Group. I can't say enough about how much of a blessing he is and how much he helped us! There are still good people in this world!!!

I recently stayed here for the first time during my ski club's group trip in February 2020. The two bedroom, 2 bathroom condo was clean and had a decent kitchen. The best thing about this property is the location and the "Bumps" market on the first floor. The most aggravating thing about my stay was the very uncomfortable bedding with an old mattress and old, hard pillows. This mountain prides itself on their ski school, which is very good, but how can you ski your best while sleeping on some old uncomfortable bed every night? The chairs at the bar-pennisula were very uncomfortable in my unit so there was not comfortable dining, since there was no dining table. Both bedrooms have tiny televisions with Direct TV and no local channels. The tv's are too small for the bedrooms and most of us were squinting just to read the channel guide, etc. The small, dingy hot tub room was not good. I pulled a muscle on my first day and was so disappointed to get into this small hot tub with a rusted and bent handle/railing used to get into the pool. The pool also had weak jets so it basically just felt like you're sitting in a bathtub. The hot tub is also inside of one of the locker rooms used to store people's skis so it is behind a closed door and surrounded by really old tile. I would recommend walking across the road to use the facilities at another neighboring condo. This place needs upgrades and renovations, but the staff is quite nice!

We had a two bedroom condo for 1 week. The couch was so old that you sank through the broken springs. We had to use the throw pillows from all the beds to make it usable. The living room chairs were dirty. And, all the furniture looked to be about 20+ years old. The beds had no headboards, and mattresses were very old. No decorations on the walls... and the carpet was threadbare. There was nothing that would make you feel welcome in that sad condo. I couldn't wait to leave. Our neighbor, who also complained about their room had blankets covering all their furniture, because they were so worn and dirty. We love the location but staying here was absolutely abysmal. We will never stay here again.

A great place for groups or families to stay while skiing at Taos. The condos are large and well-maintained. There is a nice lobby, Hondo restaurant, ski storage, and Bumps market and foods to go. Easy access to the slopes, just steps away.
