I tried to visit coming all the way from Austin, Texas this weekend after looking forward to getting a new wedding ring for half of the year. My husband and I arrived around 30 minutes before close and had planned our travel around visiting this particular Taos jewelry shop in time for visiting family for Christmas. Taos and New Mexico have a beloved place in our hearts, so we were set on getting a ring here. We arrived to a locked door with no signage about closing early. Seeing as we needed to head to the next state and were already delayed for this special stop, I am disheartened to say I am unable to leave a favorable review.

I had antique, Art Deco, opal ring with a chip and I knew from looking at Emily Ruffin’s designs that she was the only one I wanted to work on it. I sent it to her along with some other sentimental pieces to repair: a ring with sapphires and a ring with emeralds and diamonds. Emily explained everything to me very clearly about what she was going to do to fix the rings. Emily’s staff helped me with the shipping, which is a special process for insurance and safety. Everything worked beautifully, and as I imagined, the work was impeccable. I am now enjoying wearing my rings again and I feel safe knowing the stones are all secure. Plus, they look so pretty. Emily helped me choose a stone to create a new, unique mother’s ring with representing each of my three kids on one piece I can stack with my wedding rings. Quality of work: Five stars. Customer service: Five stars. Artistry/style: Five stars. Thank you Emily and team!

Exquisite and unique designs created by a master goldsmith can be found in this quaint colorful shop in the heart of Tao central shopping area. Before you even enter, you're greeted by lovely and unique artworks outdoors so imagine the lovely and wonderful pieces inside! If you want something exquisite and designed especially for you, go see Emily, Eve, and Frank. Be sure to say hello to Emily's wonderful dogs, too. They have a smile for everyone!

Every time I walk in this store I see something EXCEPTIONAL! Not the normal pieces you can find in every other jewelry store...I mean TRULY STUNNING! The goldsmith/jeweler (I should probably say ARTIST) is full of stories and can often point out a piece that you might have walked by and not noticed. But once you've see it, you can't forget it! I can only imagine what she could make if commissioned for a custom piece...I've seen pictures...UNBELIEVABLE!!

My Husband and I took our first trip to Taos, spending a couple of days there. Wandering around, we came to one of the most unusual and creative jewelry stores we've ever seen, and we travel all over the world. Ms. Ruffin and her partner were low-key and relaxed and her jewelry designs stopped us both in our tracks. Not only did we come away with some gorgeous and versatile earrings, but we were welcomed by some really nice and well-behaved puppies. The owners also let us know about other businesses in the area, made some spot-on restaurant recommendations, and were gracious hosts all around. It is a mark of great confidence when you can highlight other businesses than your own, and we'll certainly come back.

Emily is a masterful artist. She is also very welcoming and our visit to her store today was delightful. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of her craft and her wares. I can't think of a better way to spend a little time on a Sunday afternoon than to be in her shop. A pleasure for sure.
