Ortega's Jerky is absolutely the best Taos style jerky, a traditional New Mexico style not over processed. The jerky is excellent, not all juiced up with sugar and chemicals. Favorites include the green or red chili bags and the habanero. It is also the place to get the best red chile powder. Many order it for gifts and it is becoming a Christmas tradition. They ship quickly and securely to your door. Customers report an awesome experience, love these guys, and will definitely be ordering again and again. This is not gas station jerky. Ortega’s jerky is awesome. I had never tried New Mexico style jerky before and it is so Addicting! Family owned business that really cares about quality of ingredients and taste of product. I can’t wait to have more flavors!

I like Ortega’s but the only problem I have with them is that their hours fluctuate from what they have posted. I go at 11:20 am and no one is there. My suggestion is to always call before you go so as not to waste a trip to town.

I order a couple times a year and this time I ordered for my boyfriend and asked them to put a "coupon" to annoy him and they wrote the "coupon". I love these guys. On top of the jerky Is my favorite of all time.
