The Taos Walgreens pharmacy is a joke. Understaffed and incompetent. And they charge 3x comparing their price to GoodRx.

Do not waste your time with the pharmacy, especially if your medicine is taken daily and/or necessary for your daily function. The pharmacy is either not open or there is a line 10 deep. This is no reflection in the outnumbered folks working the counter. This egregious ineptitude rests squarely on the shoulders of management. Their negligence has proven significantly detrimental to my health, employment, and personal relationships. I hope I never have to set foot in this place again. But let me tell you how I really feel...

***PHARMACY HOURS VARY***Like a regular Walgreens only with way WAY less in stock.Awesome employees, it's not their fault the chain has no bags, no more AAAA batteries, nyx make-up products, etc, etc...There's a nationwide shortage of everything -in case you're not aware.Taos is a cool place but we're going to get hit pretty hard with shortages so if you're from out of town bring your own stuff next time if you can.

So typical of a Walgreens pharmacy, we called ahead to check on a prescription because we were driving for an hour out of the mountains to pick it up and were put on hold for 10 minutes. The pharmacist accidentally picked up and as I started to ask about prescription, said, "Sorry I picked up the wrong line,"and cut me off before I could finish the sentence. Back on hold, 2 more times someone came on and said, "Walgreens, please hold". When they finally answered we were 8 minutes away and were told they were closing in 4 for a lunch break and no one could wait 4 minutes for us even though we had driven an hour and had an hour to drive back to our hotel. When they reopened 2 1/2 hours after the prescriptions had been called in, and I called to verify them, they were not ready. We NEVER do business with ANY Walgreens for this very reason. We only had scripts sent to this store because we were making plans long distance and Walgreens advertised longer hours than other pharmacies in town, when we go there, even the hours were not correct!!! So frustrating to be sick and not be able to pick up medication. An hour later and after having to get in line 3 different times we were able to leave with medication at the correct price. Tom , the pharmacy technician was very helpful, he seemed to be the only person who cared or knew what they were doing.

?tried to pick up diabetes meds at a discount today. The entire order was messed up. They wanted to charge us 216 instead of 68 as quoted by the manufacturer and claimed there were 6 pens when there were only 2. Then refused to take back the completely unopened package that was still in the stapled bag with the receipt attached to it 2 min later when we walked in from drive through (where we had wasted 12 mins) into the back of the store like we had been commanded to do. I had to raise my voice to get a manager (pharmacist) on the scene who overwrote the transaction. Total time spent 25 minus. The front desk person was Muhammed, the pharmacist was Gabriel. Although I have about 18 prescriptions to fill a month, I will not go back. Ever. Although I've always liked to female staff.

I asked the pharmacist's advice and dealt with several pharmacy technicians over the course of a week on several matters concerning my prescriptions from out of state. Every person I dealt with was courteous and helpful.

If you can possibly avoid going to this pharmacy, do it. They are incompetent and rude. They claim not to receive prescriptions that are called in an hour before and confirmed w the physicians office. Try to go somewhere outside of Taos if at all possible.

It's super inconsiderate for a company that has stores everywhere and is making tons of money to not have the pharmacy department fully or overly staffed. Sick, uncomfortable people must wait way too long for service in Taos, NM. Go to Smiths pharmacy if you need a prescription filled - way faster...
