Huge selection. Like another reviewer said, the bulk bins are spectacular. They are a throwback to old markets where you would buy your beans and grains and other dry goods out of big containers. Something I used to see occasionally as a child. I bought navy beans here, which I actually had a hard time finding in my local supermarkets. They have a bunch of nifty sections if you want to make your own... Well pretty much anything. There's yeast and kombucha and all kinds of raw and fermented stuff. Huge selection in a small store Now the bad part: if you were looking to spend $200 on groceries that you can carry out in one hand, this is certainly your place, you will have no problem doing that, and a huge selection to choose from. It seems like most of the food quality is a cut above, especially for cheeses and specialty items. However, I can't imagine people shopping here for their daily needs We had a lovely cashier named Val, I am sure we could be good friends! She asked me if we were members of the co-op, and when I asked her what was involved with that, it was a $100 yearly fee and a three hour orientation to become a member. I really admire the people who are committed to such things, but it's just a bit much for me. Happy to go there sometimes to get some specialty items though. One more thing: quite nice and interesting plant selection. Surprising in a little market, but they had all sorts of little cactus and succulents and other plans, really nice little stuff.

Great selection of food available at their hot bar and in their grab and go section. Items are clearly labeled at a glance for vegan & vegetarian suitability. Cafe area was clean and well maintained. Love the idea of having a designated “chat checkout” where patrons can take more time and chat with the cashier.

Instead of going to corporate interests shop here there's everything you might need and its in a spot that rarely changes so you can always expect to find what your after where you remember it being. The bulk section is my personal favorite where I can get almost anything from beans rices pasta all the way to ready to go vegan soup mix. But the best part is the Cooperative part with an ownership card you can actively take part in the Democratic processes that determine how it's run

I love this place I am a member. IM tired of the creepy people in the parking lot. Wanting to know if I work there. . I'm watching prices go up ,up upBecause of theft. There has to be more for these hungry refugees. The problem I have is they're being no support or education.I watched a woman give a cashier 90 dollars. When her bill was $35.She had a child with her Everyone's being taken care of. But no one's teaching. So I'm sure they have little Not everyone's honest people are desperate. The transaction did happen there

Honest weight is my favorite grocery store in the entire capital region! They have great products and amazing food as well. I’m in there multiple times a week so I would highly recommend. The workers are friendly as well

We had a fine experience here, aside from a manager (?) with long curly blonde hair loudly saying the bakery was closed when she saw me looking. It wasn't, as they were putting fresh items out.Anywhere that upsets the local racists and right wingers is worth a second shot, though.

Honest weight is a fantastic coop and I'm so grateful to have them in the community. Not only do they have a great grocery selection, they also give back to the community in many ways. Their bulk section is superb and has saved me so much money and packaging waste over the years. They have cute home goods and a decent plant selection as well. Everyone I've brought with me to HW has loved the place. Definitely worth a visit!

If you know food coops, Honest Weight Food Co-op delivers what you expect and more! Support your local co-op! The main attraction here for me is the bulk section. I heard someone say it was the best bulk section in the Northeast. I don't know about that, but it is certainly one of the best I have ever seen. You can find very rare items, and often at very good prices. Just remember to bring your own container and get it weighed at the service desk when you come in! (Otherwise, you'll pay a small charge for the plastic containers they provide.) You'll find the usual staples like grains, flours, pastas, nuts, etc. You'll also find various honeys, syrups, fresh yeasts, spices, teas, unique salts, etc. If you can't find what you're looking for, chances are the bulk manager might be able to order it for you. If you're trying to live packaging-free, also check out the health and beauty section for its bulk soaps (even cut-you-own bar soaps). Eggs are a great purchase here. If you want local, pasture raised eggs, they can be found here for under $5, which is a bargain! Bulk and fresh tofu and some other select items are quite affordable here as well. A lot of other things are quite a lot more expensive here, if you aren't getting the discount. Becoming a member is a bit of a chore, as you have to sit through a long training. That only gets you a very small discount. You need to volunteer time to get the 24% discount. I personally am not much of a fan of most pre-made co-op foods and deli foods. (They taste similar across the nation.) I go for the hummus wrap sometimes. Some of the foods are quite salty. This is largely down to taste, since I know some people swear by the prepped food. The plant and gardening section is good, but I wish there was more of an emphasis on native plants and fewer invasive plants. Service is pretty good for a co-op. I see some reviewers hate the service here. This is down to expectation setting: most these people are volunteering and may only work irregularly. They almost certainly aren't going to be ruthlessly efficient. They'll probably be a little distracted, maybe a bit frazzled, and they definitely won't know the code for that obscure produce you forgot to label. If you can get over that, this place is phenomenal as far as co-ops are concerned!

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! The food selection is horrible, almost every employee has the worst attitude or will ignore you, and everything is insanely overpriced. I wouldn't shop here again if I was starving to death.

I love this store so much they have so many things it's hard to shop it takes forever because I want everything. It's clean all the employees are so nice. They have so many things that aren't available in regular supermarkets. But the price point is higher than others which does hinder me from indulging my cravings too much.

It’s too expensive for my budget so I’ve stopped going. The few times I have gone, the cashiers are always talking amongst themselves and pretty much ignore me. It’s really weird! They do have a good selection of items, I could spend hours in here just looking at all the stuff.

I love their bulk food section and their local products. However, the customer service is very poor. I’ve been ignored by cashiers multiple times when attempting to check out. Additionally, when I asked about membership at the register I was given no information.

Days ago my husband and I went to the honest weight bakery/ cake section, met with a woman and ordered my vegan birthday cake for my 50th birthday party. He went today to pick it up and was told that they aren't taking orders now, there was a wrong date etc (neither of which is true, we saw the form). Not only was the guy not apologetic, he sarcastically thanked us for being upset. So, an hour before my party... no cake. Thanks Honest Weight, a 50th birthday to remember.

they have vegan pop-ups outside every month that are absolute heaven. The non vegan ones are great too! The whole store has an amazing selection of local meats and vegetables

A great place to find specialty products, local treats, vegan options, bulk, gluten-free options, and high quality ingredients. I also do much of my regular grocery shopping here. Certain ingredients can be pricey, but I find prices on your run of the mill items to be comparable to other places. There are food items that I’ve become attached to that I can only find here.
