Jerry Lawton is hands-down the best mechanic around. Honest, reliable, and always fair. His son Cole is part of the business too, and together they make an incredible team. They get the job done right every time. Highly recommend!

My car is a piece of junk. I have had it fixed prior with no luck. These guys are like car angels. First I dropped it off wrong spot they picked it up and took it to the other shop and brought it back. Then they found the problem I have been fighting since I got the car. This shop primo ! They are amazing and I really appreciate them for taking the time and finding the actual issue to my car. As a female most shops think they can get over but these guys really treated me well. I suggest they be your forever mechanic if you are in the Albany area. They are honest, customer service impeccable.

Today my car got stuck in reverse in the Honest Weight parking lot. The folks at the customer service desk told me to go talk to the guys at Lawton’s cause they’re great, and boy were they right! Even after I explained that I likely wouldn’t be able to give them my business because I’d need to take my car to someone local to me, the man at the desk sent Cole to walk over with me to take a look at it. Cole temporarily fixed the issue, drove it around the block to make sure it would be ok to drive to a mechanic near me, and talked to me about what he thought the issue was. Really grateful for the help!! These guys are wonderful, please give them your business!

Setting up the appointment, I already noticed how polite and attentive they were. But talk about going BEYOND EXPECTATIONS - they replaced my bad starter. Three days later, my daughter drives down the Brooklyn, where the van won't start (exhibiting same starter issues). The starter is under national warranty, so it'll get repaired for free, BUT in the meantime one of their mechanics is driving to Florida today, and IS GOING TO DETOUR to Brooklyn and check the starter (and some wire), and actually bring a replacement starter and all the tools to replace it if needed right there curbside!!! And I'm a first-time customer with them!!! How awesome is that? They've definitely got a new customer.

I highly recommend Lawton's over any other mechanic in the area. Jerry and his team are always super upfront and honest about repairs/cost and take the time to explain and answer questions simply. They operate in a transparent and ethical way and are the most considerate and professional auto shop I've ever dealt with. Thank you to everyone at Lawton's!

I did not have my car serviced here.
Jerry wasn't able to fit me in as a walk-in, but he took the time at the front desk to help me figure out what to do next, and how to do it best, when my car left me stranded. Big rec on professionalism alone, I really appreciate it.

Top notch mechanics. Had my car towed there to diagnose and fix an odd issue where the car wouldn't start(not the starter). They could have easily taken the easy way out and just charged me thousands for a new wiring harness. Instead they took the time to methodically work their way down to the actual issue which was a corroded connection and fixed it. Price was more than fair considering the time it took for them to drill down to the issue. Nice to find a shop with real mechanics who know what they are doing and are good at it. I highly recommend Lawtons.

They are very good about getting necessary work done and not looking to tack on money-making extras. If they tell you a repair is necessary, it is.

I will try not to make this too lengthy. But I found a diamond amongst the rocks. From the second I called I knew I would be a long time customer. First impression is crucial and they were not only professional but personable, honest and fair. Jerry was absolutely a Saint, listening to my concerns with patience and really wanting to gain an understanding. I'm so grateful for him. I dropped my car off and knew it was in great hands. Now as if that wasn't enough they were fair with their pricing of parts and labor. All of their reviews are accurate. Really a top auto shop. So blessed to have found them and they have a forever customer. I pray their shop always flourishes and is successful. Thank you each and every one of you.
