My wife and I went to Macy's to pick out a mattress and after trying a bunch we found one from Beautyrest that felt great. It was a medium pillow top, so nice and soft on top for comfy side sleeping while still being supportive. This was an expensive mattress but we were excited because our previous beds were pretty cheap and didn't last very long. The bed arrived and we immediately had concerns because it felt incredibly firm and nothing like the bed we tried at the store. We gave it a week and tried some tricks we found online to help break in a mattress faster, such as walking on it, but nothing. I called the support line to tell them that I thought something was wrong with the bed. Their response was to tell me that they are not responsible if my body can't adjust to the bed. They told me my only option was to return it and pay a 15% restocking fee, which is quite a bit of money because it was an expensive mattress. I argued my point that we didn't get the bed that we paid for and shouldn't have to pay the fee, so they sent a company to test it for a warranty claim, which I had to take time off of work for. When the guy got here he took a picture of the tag, pushed on the mattress with his hand, then left. Surprise , surprise, they denied my claim. Ultimately, we slept on the bed for almost 2 months and it never changed. It is still so firm that it hurts my shoulder and often makes my hand fall asleep. I got on the phone with support again and told them I was going to file complaints against Macy's and I would not be buying anything else from them if they charge me to restocking fee, but they did not care. To me this equates to theft because the 15% with the delivery fee to pick up the mattress is over $800 and I did not get what I paid for. Go someplace else for your mattresses.

A waste of time. Monkey's could do a better job organizing this place. The reason malls are dying - and should. Merchandise is mostly garbage. Sale's (non) help reflects that, except Men's dress clothes, which has some very helpful salesmen - which the rest of the store needs to learn from.

I can’t understand some of the bad reviews regarding the cleanliness of the store. I found the store very organized. They could put up Christmas decorations, but the customer service was amazing so many people helped me pick out perfume as a Christmas present for my wife. One particular associate in the moisturizer section deserves praise. Mary K was fantastic in helping me and very knowledgeable. She was super friendly, it’s was a pleasure shopping at the Colonie center location. Christmas wish is that Macy’s recognize excellence in Mary K who goes above and beyond. It is the employees that really make the shopping experience a positive one.

My girlfriend worked with Carol at the Lancome counter. Carol was very knowledgeable about perfume scents, storage and how body cream interacts with perfume. Highly recommend asking for Christmas Carol ? it was a wonderful experience.
