Bought our sons first real shoes there and had a wonderful experience. The staff are clearly very comfortable with kids and gave us good insight into how to test if a shoe fits accurately. The shoes might be a bit more expensive than something youd find at target but the experience more than made up for it.

This place is specifically designed for children's shoes, of which I know little about. But, my toddler needed new shoes and if he was anything like his father (he is) then his odd-sized feet would present challenges (they do). So, we came here. Their staff of two were helping other customers but we were called on relatively quickly. They carry only a couple of brands including their house brand (Stride Rite) but they have lots of colors and styles... which are important to kids of all ages. The woman who assisted us measured the feet, recommended some shoes, and helped our son with trying them on. We purchased one pair, but later switched them for another and they were friendly with the whole process. Shoes here aren't cheap, but the cost of everything has gone up these days. Having never bought children's shoes elsewhere I can't vouch for the variety, cost, or staff elsewhere... but this IS a good place to go for children's shoes.

Independently owned kids' Stride Rite stores are such a rarity nowadays. They are a treasure and should be patronized whenever possible. We got great service here, with my kiddo's feet being painstakingly measured, and the woman who helped us was exceedingly patient as my kiddo insisted on three laps around the store in each pair of shoes (even the ones that were just different-color copies of each other). There are only 21 of these stores left in the entire country. We'd all be a lot worse off if we lost any more! (And no, they don't only carry Stride Rite brand. They also carry Keen, Merrills, Tsukihoki, Skechers, and I'm sure others.)

There are limited options for kids with wide feet. This is soppost to be a kids store. Also, long waits, staff can be rude at times. It is expensive for quality.

Go to stride right if you want to be dismissed and a bother and watch clerks roll their eyes and belittle customers

1) staff was so rude - I asked what the price was for a pack of three socks and was told it was $13.95… the pack of six socks had a label that said $14.00… I said great I’ll take the six… with a serious face the individual at the register said, that’s just what the label sticker price says.. it isn’t the actual price - the price is $16.00. Shocked, I asked how this could be… the response was “because the owner can charge that price, the label is just a suggested price”2) already annoyed, I asked about the new balance toddler shoes… and before I could finish my sentence, the employee abruptly said “our sizes are different here; if you’re fitted for a shoe, it won’t fit the same somewhere else…” I’m confused…so a New Balance show would fit differently in another store, even it was the same exact shoe? Makes no sense.Needless to say, we left. I can’t believe a business could survive with staff that has no regard for customers.

Absolutely the best customer service. They provide something that u cannot find. They measure ur child and fit them to the correct size and width they are sopossed to be wearing in many styles and brand of shoes. Dozens of name brands and a precise fit and room to grow. They have many locations through Connecticut, 2 in Massachusetts and 2 in up state NY.
