I’ve loved Ten Thousand Villages since my mom got me a beautiful hand carved bowl from one for Hanukkah in my early twenties. The selection of goods made by makers all over the world is always superb and the ideology of bringing these goods here for consumption and paying the makers a living wage is something I can get behind. We are a slow movement family and buy a lot of items second hand due to environmental concerns, so when we do purchase new items, it is with serious thought and intent surrounding the social and environmental impacts of those items. When I come here, I know that I am supporting small makers from all over the world and our family is proud of that.Recently I purchased socks for a cause and handmade ornaments as presents and they all were well received by the recipients.

Went into this store to browse around and my bf and I immediately felt judged by the male employee working there. Although I greeted him with a friendly hello and a wave this person barely greeted us and we felt eye-balled the entire time. We quite possibly didn’t fit the upscale mold they seem to cater to. Other customers were greeted in an energetic, friendly manner which made us feel even more unwelcome. I find it ironic that this shop supports fair trade and ethically sourced items but does not treat all customers equally or with respect. Very weird, uncomfortable experience. Will not be going back and would never recommend.

Whoever the general manager was . Unfortunately I forget his name but he was the nicest sweetest man I have ever met. My family was from out of town and just doing a little shopping . He told us about all different things in the store we were looking at and where they came from . Also since we are from out of town gave us a list of things to go see !! I very much enjoyed my shopping yesterday while I was in there. As soon as we left the store I was like I have to write a review something I rarely ever do. My mom and sisters were like he was sooo sooo nice ! Thank you for an amazing shopping experience .

Beautiful store but their prices have jumped exponentially over the past ten years. The artisans should be paid fair wages, but they've priced themselves out of my market!
