One of the worst banks I’ve ever had to deal with in my 46 years! I never knew that as a worker using your own money out of your own account, you can get fired. Yes, true story it has happened to my niece that worked there for four years she got fired for using her money out of her account.

By far the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER in my entire Life.. Do not, AGAIN, DO NOT! EVER use this bank. They ruined mine and my family's life. We are totally living in regret after putting all of our Trust into Trustco Bank. We were in contract after 2 whole years of searching in this UNFORGIVING, Unprecedented and in the History of the U.S. the Worst time For a Buyer to be on the Market for a Home Purchase. Time after time over the course of 2 years a Trustco Bank Loan Officer "Pre-Approved" (Not Pre-Qualifiied) us for a Purchase/Loan amount according to and adhering to their terms and we were left with the impression that all was good and we felt comfortable so we shopped. After a very StressFul and Depressing Experience submitting offer after offer and being told that our offer wasn't takem or that we were 2nd in consideration (Roughly 30 offers) we finally had an offer accepted on an amazing home. We thought the process would be smooth and comfortable. At some point I'd say, it was during the process. Some things strained the process but nothing we didn't expect. I played my part and submitted all documents to the Loan Officer upon requests. I thought we were good. 10 days to closing, it is unbelievable what happened. 10 days to Closing and I was told that I needed to bring another 11% Down Payment to the table (70k to be exact) after I'd already agreeing to place 16% as my initial Down Payment (110k to be exact) and we began to wonder if this was a joke!. Well, the hard truth hit us and we were told it was either we place another 70k down on top of the 110k or they weren't Approving the loan. We were devastated. This was late April of this year 2022 and after a month and a half in Contract, Rates had already climbed about a Percent and a Half and our monthly payments would have become insane with another lender. We ultimately lost our deal and are now still stuck in our small 2 Br Apt we've sacrificed staying in for the purchase of a home for our family. TrustCo is full of it. They wasted our time and energy and devastated us in ways I can't even begin to explain let alone fathom. STAY AWAY! from these Liars, they are conniving and a bunch of Clowns.. They had the nerve and the audacity to think that I'd keep my Accounts open with them after all this. If I'd known better we'd have our home today.. Do Not Trust Trustco, they are WORTHLESS!.

I go here all the time and am content with the service. Plus they have a coin counter.

There are some things I absolutely love about Trustco and many things they could easily fix but don't. I love the number of branches available and the times they are open. I love that at least the Glenville branch has a coin machine that is free to customers. I appreciate the architecture of the branches that have tried to blend into their neighborhood. I'm not a fan of their employee rotation. Another BillP mentioned not being able to cash his check because he forgot his ID & none of the employees recognized him. I get it. I've never seen the same officer on duty at my small town Trustco branch. I could go to multiple branches of my old bank and see people who knew my family and the ones who weren't from Scotia recognized me as a good customer. I really hate Trustco's online banking. If I mistyped my password a couple times I get totally locked out. When I do connect after hours the data is often wrong and I can't depend on my current balance being accurate. Bill

This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Their customer service sucks. One time, the employee even hung up the phone in the middle of the conversation. These folks have made my account dormant for silly reason. Just because I was not using my Trustco debit card for months should not make my account dormant. I ask the authorities to investigate the wrongdoing by this bank. Why can't I use my money now? coz you have made my account dormant, wow.

I have always like Trustco since I got my mortgage with them in 2012. I opened a checking account as well so that I could get 1/4 percent off my loan for having direct payments. I don't use checks very often, so the original checks I had when I opened the account just ran out. I tried to order on line. No go. I called and was told they had changed check distributors, and they didn't transfer my information over unfortunately. The representative originally said I should stop into a branch (at my convenience - NOT if you actually work for a living) because it would not be easy for him to order checks for me from customer service. I said "well that won't be convenient for me." Then it became "I cannot do it from here because I need a picture id." What?? I am not changing anything on the checks, just ordering more. They have my checks at the bank. I am not trying to change anything on the checks. Just order more. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. I said you must have a boss. He said no not in customer service. I spoke to the king of customer service. NOT

Every employee in this branch is rude and on some sort of power trip. Between making you wait in line while talking with other employees, to making me show ID every time when I come here 3-4 times a week. This branch offers consistently bad service and there's always an issue with even the simplest transaction. Find another branch like I did.

My grandmother managed this bank, I have used this bank for 8 years, 3/4's of my family members use this bank going back to the beginning and I couldn't be helped because I didn't have my id, I don't care if they were following standard protocol this branch is awful and I've had un related problems to this in the past. I would never recommend anyone to use this branch of trustco.

Trustco is a regional bank and you can actually speak to real human beings if you need services. Recommended
