Been dealing with this post office for roughly 15 years and rarely had an issue. All issues were fairly minor and easy to fix. I don’t understand all the comments about the desk worker being “rude”. She just tells it like it is.

We moved to New York 3 years ago, any dealings with this location is a nightmare. I suffered a heart attack in July, the post man came to my house today, rang the bell and gave me less than 30 seconds to get to the door. Needless say, I didn't make it in time. He didn't leave what appeared to be a letter in his hand or notice (we have cameras) at my door or in mailbox. I called in to the lady working at desk, she called him and now my letter will not be available till Monday to be picked up. I tried to explain about my health issue and the need for more time. She said he doesn’t have time to visit with people to get to know anyone, she has other customers and needed to hang up. She has used that same excuse in the past and I was in the parking lot before and no one was there and she wasn’t on the phone. The list goes on with the workers at Alexander post office. She claimed his vehicle has a label on the side, he doesn't, she then retracted and said its on the rear of the car and since he drove in and out in a hurry you cannot read it. Thankfully a neighbor identified him so I could track down where he was coming from. This place needs shut down and the federal employees with high wages fired. Go to Attica or Darien. Why do people work in a customer service based industry if you don't like people? In the middle of this review she called back to say its now available for pick up. After saying earlier by the time he gets back she is always gone. Its 9:46am and this crap started at 9am. Oh her go to is, thats neither here nor there.

So I know little to nothing about sending packages, I was hoping once I got here with my packages I would be able to get some guidance on what I needed to do to send them.Well I enter through the door and I tell them that I need shipping labels, the lady behind the desk was extremely rude and treated me as though I was stupid, when all I needed was to be told "we don't print shipping labels here but here's what you can do instead" and she made it very clear that I had the wrong boxes and told me I need domesticated boxes which, and I will elaborate, I know very little about shipping anything as it is as I do not use the postal service often and had never needed to before, so safe to say I didn't know the difference between the boxes I had in my hand and the boxes that were at the store.I was so flustered and embarrassed because I didn't know what I was needing to do and this lady was treating me so poorly for walking through the door.I just wanted to send some Christmas gifts to my friends.I will never be coming into this post office again after the embarrassment I felt being berated by the lady behind the desk and would advise others to go elsewhere.

Woman at the front desk is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with... Just drive to Attica, the parking sucks but you won't be berated!
