My comments about this are not a complaint towards the staff - they are wonderful and try to accommodate as best as they can with what they have.My concern is this location has a strong failure to communicate to their clients. Their dropoff service that is considered normal is worrying that you should drop off your pet in the early AM, and not receive a phonecall or regular updates during. It's not only until you call 3+ hours later yourself that you see or hear any activity updates. The front desk at most only has 1 individual to handle lines of clients and check-ins. They are doing what they can (again this isn't towards individual staff). There needs to be dedicated receptionists, and dedicated staff behind the doors for better communication levels across the board. An xray or standard visit should not ever take 4+ hours just to hear back from the facility. This is a lapse in scheduling based on the Practice Manager, and Banfield corporate and how they assign their staff. I am pleading that corporate Banfield truly review their efficiency metrics with their centers and ensure there is enough staffing with more than 1 vet for an entire day. The bottleneck that you put your facilities through is not indicative of a business that respects not only their clients as well as their trained staff. Help your employees so they can better assist their clientele. After my dog's concern is mediated I will need to find another vet after my experiences so far with Banfield in general as a company have not been satisfactory. The staff there are doing the best they can and I appreciate their efforts, but I can easily see when the corporate levels above each facility put handicaps on their employees.

Dr. Atwal operated on my dog's hernia, the 2nd one in just 5 years. She did an amazing job; Dali Llama came through the procedure perfectly, and the scar is nearly invisible. She is a very capable vet. I highly recommend her and Banfield!A++++++

Have been bringing my pets to Banfield for 10+ years. Their care plans are reasonable and the care they provide my fur babies is beyond any other veterinarian. I just know my babies are in good hands at this place

100% unacceptable service. How do you take in a dog for a simple ear infection at 9AM and think it is ok TO NOT UPDATE THE OWNERS ALL DAY and not answer phone calls!! I am so frustrated and upset. It is 5PM with zero call or text from these people. The other half of this is I was told this appt was for his ear, then we get a text it is for a dental service and not to feed him breakfast. So my dog is sitting at this place STARVING while his owners have no clue what is going on. How is this ok?

Great experience. Visiting from Toronto where our dog's prescription food is scarce. Went to Banfield w/the Rx from our home vet and they sold us all the Rx food they had in stock no problem. Very friendly and compassionate.

I am floored by the level of communication from the team and lack of accurate information. I am waiting for a call from Corporate before I go more into what happened. I am a long time wellness plan member with 2 dogs and if there is not a resolution they will lose another member.

Banfield is only good for annual visits and vaccinations. Every time we have an issue that needs immediate attention, we have to either wait a week to get an appointment or else go to the emergency clinic (which we've done). They aren't able to give special care and attention when needed because they are taking care of way too many animals.

Horrible. Have a pet on their "wellness plan" that's bleeding in pain and needs emergency attention? They'll put you on hold for 46:06 until they close and disconnect the call

Since COVID we've had trouble finding a vet that would take new patients in our area. Our cats recently have had some eye issues and needed rabies vaccines updated.Banfield got us an appointment a few days after our initial call. The staff was great and took extra time to make sure that my daughter understood everything that would be happening with her cat.My daughter was concerned that she wouldn't be able to be with her pet during all of the tests that needed to be done but the staff assured her that they love cats and have cats of their own so they would take the best care of her.We received medications for her cat and were out in just over an hour.Great experience all around.

I’ve been a banfield customer for approximately 7 years and visited multiple locations and loved them, but this one is just awful. They NEVER answer their phones, prescribe incorrect medication, and take days to call you back. Luckily there is another location in Orchard Park that we can go to to finish out our plan, where they do actually answer phones AND call you back within the hour usually. If you are okay driving to Orchard Park, then give them a try, otherwise try any other vet in Amherst.

While I'm sure they are kind to the animals, they over medicate, their health plan isn't worth what it costs. Don't pay for the year in advance, they will not give refunds. They take your pet into a back room and bring it back when they are "finished", leaving you sitting in a tiny room just waiting. The staff is kind to your face, but in the phone extraordinary rude. The person I spoke with did not listen to me. I was simply trying to get heart worm meds. Since my puppy is still growing it's obviously a single dose not a 6 pack. I asked if I should bring the dog in to weigh her to be sure the dose was proper. They told me that she was 26 lbs the last time she was there. Probably not over 44. I said she was weighed 3 weeks ago by the rescues vet and she was 35 lbs. she said it's still the lower dose if she was just weighed a week ago. I said it's 3 weeks ago. She said it won't matter. I said I want the proper medication dose so my puppy doesn't get heart worm. Told her she wasn't listening to me and then she hung up. Yes I was irritated and raised my voice but these people need to listen when dispensing medication
