Big store with good selection, great service

Exceptional in so many ways. A day before my first backpacking trip, I visited the store to get advise on gear I had already purchased - which of the two backpacks to use, how to setup my tent. I also needed a few items. Frank (store associate) patiently answered all my questions and offered expert advice to set my mind at ease. Over the course of my visit, multiple customers joined the conversation - some newbies like me, others sharing personal advice. I walked out feeling like I had it all together, plus with the items I was missing. And my trip went fantastic. Frank, you are a rock star! Delighted that this locally owned store exists in my city and will happily give them my money next time I need gear.

Great local store to buy hiking/camping gear. The people who work there are super nice and have really great knowledge. The quality of the product is amazing and the crew there goes above and beyond to help you pick the right stuff.

I would rate more if I could! The associate was super helpful and was very very kind! Super knowledgeable about what I needed. Will definitely be returning when I need my next pair of climbing shoes!

First time here and I loved it. Came in for Keen brand sandals and Darn Tough wool socks, and Jake was wonderfully helpful.Now that I know this place is here I will never go back into that big chain sporting goods store across the street - which will remain nameless!Thank you for a great experience, GFA!

Stopped in on a whim and it was great. I had some questions about running socks and Frank who was working that night was amazing. He took the time to explain differences between the two kinds I was considering with honest information. He also gave me some great insight about footwear. Was kind and never made me feel dumb as I'm just starting out my running journey . the store was clean and organized .Definitely recommend

I found Gear for Adventure by chance while looking for MSR stove fuel. I was very glad to find a locally owned alternative to the chain hunting store I had planned to shop at. This store is small, but has an amazing selection of products from the most reputable brands. I’ll definitely be back.

What a gem of a store! The inventory was just what we needed. It wasn't overwhelming to shop there & the prices were VERY reasonable. The associate assisting us was helpful, knowledge, and friendly. Thank you for helping with the gear!!

I’m a member of REI. I’ve always loved REI. It’s a solid store and I get cash back. However, I’m a supporter of shopping local if the selection and price is on point. Staff was super helpful! I was able to get out of the store with a good pair of boots and various other things I picked up. I recommend checking this place out before going online or making the trip to REI.
