Went to Banfield clinic, and had the best experience with Dr Artero.. I'm switching Veternarians because of her. Due to prior experiences,I can tell this place is ran on some kind of bonuses for clinicians, but Dr. Artero is different, she showed genuine interest in my dogs condition, I'd even go so far as to say she saved his life. So whether she's at Banfield or another clinic, I will forever be her client. Well done, and thank you for saving my little guy!

I now understand the bad reviews. After taking my dog to a different location with great service - I came to the Amherst location and it was “recommended” I pay $25 for upgraded shampoo. I asked for clarification and said I’d pay but I’d like to speak with a manager as this was never a requirement in over 10 years. NATALIE introduced herself as the manager and said she would not groom my dog - I again calmly asked why and she said because I did not agree to the shampoo upgrade.
There is a difference between a recommendation and a Requirement, sadly Natalie does not understand this or it should be stated as such.
Happily left as I would not feel safe leaving my dog in NATALIE’s care.

Cat grooming- second time I've gone to this location and they shaved my cats belly unnecessarily. All my cat needed was the time to have a wet wash and a brushing. She came out of there with a bare belly all shaved and she is long furred. It's been almost a couple months and I'm still pretty upset by this. They should of called and asked me to shave that much. I thought the shaving of the rectal area and paws was all they would have done, not her whole belly area! Be careful if you take your cat for a grooming they save time in brushing by just shaving your cat. She also was given to me wet and not blow dried in the month of January! My cat was not in good care! Shame in the groomer. I won't be returning to this location ever again. I'm glad they have grooming at more locations now.

The people that work at PetSmart are so helpful and nice. I usually go to the one in Orchard Park NY. They have more of a selection. PetSmart helps animals find a home and they also treat the animals with respect. They are animal lovers like me. I bring my cats to the one in E Aurora for nail trimming and once for my one cat who needed some matted fur removed and they are so good with them. They have rewards as well. My friend and neighbor got his Birds there and he really likes PetSmart too.

Went to get my dogs nails cause saw yappy hour on ad. They will not cut your dogs nails if they growl or show any signs of aggression when nails getting done. The girl kept lifting and shaking my legs dog to see how my dog responds before committing to do my dogs nails. My dog will not bite but sensitive to nails and just needs breaks. I have been taking my dog to petco for last 4 years and never had an issue where they would not cut my dogs nails. they said they do not muzzle dogs. When I was waiting in line, an owner picked up their small dog and the petsmart employee said we could not do your dogs nails and she needs to be sedated.
Do not go here. Go to a place that can do nails and work with any dog temperament.

I was at this store today 9/19/24. I could hear an employee loudly complaining to another about “ if Sam comes back here it will be my two weeks, I told her I will not work with Sam. If he comes here I’ll punch him. I can’t stand him”. I’m paraphrasing only because this went on nonstop. This was going on in the small fish and bird alcove. She didn’t stop even when I walked over into that area to look at the birds. There was one parakeet who vas visibly struggling to breathe and had his eyes closed and was having a hard time balancing on the perch. I said to the girl that the bird was sick. Over her shoulder she said oh he’s fine I was just with him this morning. Them went on about cleaning the small animal cages and how they should move people up and not bring in new people (Sam?). I will never set foot in this store again. First because of the way they care for the animals and second they allow an employee be such an undesirable reflection on the company.

"Cone of Shame!????!'
Made an appointment for 2:30 for my cat's nails to be trimmed. Got there and was told I would have to wait till 3:00. My cat was in his carrier for over an hour till they could see him.
Then the lady trying to get him out of his carrier tells me that he cannot be done due to him hissing at her. I said well he has been in there for almost an hour. What do you expect. Then when I suggested I take him out her and her boss gave me side looks and muttered stuff to each other.
Finally got him on the table and got a few nails trimmed then brought out "the cone of shame" so he wouldn't bite them apparently.
At that point I had to walk out of the grooming room. I wanted to cry. My mother stayed with my cat. By the time I came back they said they cannot continue and refunded our money.
No thought that the two dogs that were in the room was the problem. No questions about how my cat would react to dogs.
The minute we walked in the room they were dismissive of trimming his nails.
Terrible customer service.
Will never go back to PetSmart for ANYTHING! I cried on the walk to my car because of the way he was treated.
