I’ve had AT&T for over 15 years, have countless upgrades and new phones and have only had issues with this store! Opened up a new line and a few months later upgrades another. Both times I’ve had to call into AT&T to help me adjust the charges for features that I did not approve or were not discussed with me first. I specifically request no insurance, insurance was put on both times. After they told me about my trade in option, I was ready to leave my phone that day but they would not accept and told me I needed to come back in 24 hours (the phone was already backed up & I let them know that). I take the trade in the next day, THEN they tell me the phone needs to be sent in and inspected to find out the true value, so the installment charge they told me the day before was not the case.
The reps tell you one thing, add whatever makes them commission and then you get a nice surprise on your next bill. So much that when I called the 800 # was told this store is notorious for it!

I've been to this store many times over the years and have been less than pleased with the customer service., but I had to go today to get a new phone for my wife and I have to say I was very pleased with the customer service I received from Kevin a really down to earth guy who made my time there feel more like hanging out catching up with a friend than a buissnes transaction and trying to rush me out of the store ,or not helping me .he answered all my questions and made sure I was allset before I left so I don't have to call customer support for help. So thank you Kevin I really appreciate the hospitality the knowledge you have shown.

the manager of this a store Emily is a very belligerent person she should not be allowed to work with the public. I see that Emily has many complaints against her and many bad reviews she should be removed from this store. At this point I'm contacting the attorney general about Emily the store manager.

zero stars! Do not shop here unless you want to be promised discounts they do not apply to your account and give you insurance you say you don’t want. Then when you ask them to correct it they say you have to call the 800 numbers and they can’t waive or do anything because they aren’t corporate! terrible customer service terrible attitude!

Add services you tell them not to so they get higher commission, loses your trade-in and then ghosts you so you can't get your phone or money back. Take the extra time and go to the ATT corporate store in Niskayuna or go to Verizon across the street. You'll pay less, guaranteed.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star but had too just to do a review. Was lied to from day one from the store in Amsterdam. Was told we couldn't put number on plan because it was a pre pay. Which was not the case. So we would have to get new number. Then they said they could and other number would come off and install menus would go to that line. Never did. Was told bill for unlimited plan would go up $40. More like over $100. I have called multiple times and spoke with Manger Emily. Who states she is waiting to hear back from District Manger about credit and taking off line. Never call backs. Just spoke with someone at customer service and they told me the truth. NEVER do business with Amsterdam AT&T. They are liars and give out false information. Going to the Better Business Bureau next.

It felt like the guy at the store accused me of writing a fake letter from my fire department and wouldn’t help me with verifying my first net account even though the guy at the Albany store helped my boyfriend with verifying his account and Amsterdam has helped him several times… contemplating going back to Verizon

I changed my review after seeing how my mom was taken advantage of when going for an upgrade. The promotion in Sept. was for a ‘free’ upgrade but now we noticed months later that not only did they charge us for her phone but added on additional insurance (which we already had coverage for all 4 phones on plan) and added this Next Up yet continued to promise her that the bill would not increase. Clearly they get some sort of commission for adding this on plans. Check your bills closely you too could be paying double insurance charges and this ‘Next Up’ charge (which makes no sense if phone is a free upgrade). Our fam has been with AT&T for over 25 yrs and seeing how they took advantage of an elderly has me doubting my decision to stay with them. My bill is outrageous and now after talking to customer care I see why… thanks to this store!

AT&T Amsterdam store is horrible! No help offered. If you are smart, go to JOHNSTOWN, NY. They are knowledgeable and helpful. If I could I would give a minus star review.

Went to the store to get an upgrade on my phone and I used to work here so I know they make commission off of certain sales. Was told that I had no choice but to put next up and insurance on my phone when I said I didn’t want it from the beginning. It still got out on and I had to call customer service and get it off. Other than that I was in and out very fast. Watch out when you go there because they most definitely will try and upsell you. Always have and always will.
