The incompetence at Ardsley CVS pharmacy is so bad, it almost seems comical. I don’t know why I haven’t left a review sooner, as it is EVERY SINGLE TIME. Our doctor has a running joke about it. Funny not funny.
The latest issue is in progress, as I type. My son’s prescription is for 70mg of Accutane. The way it comes is one box of 30mg and one box of 40mg, for a total of 70mg. The prescription was called in on 6/19. The other day, they tell my son there’s no prescription waiting for him. CVS says it’s the doctor. We know it’s not, based on the past; but, we have to call the doctor’s office, in the middle of a busy day, to accuse them of not sending the script (which, ofc they did). So we clear that up.
Yesterday, my son goes to pick it up and they tell him only the 30mg box is ready, and he’ll have to come back tomorrow (which is now today) for the 40mg. Okay. TODAY, we attempt to pick up the 40mg. And are told there is no 40mg script. CVS says it’s the doctor’s fault.
Here’s the thing: On the box they did give us (on the prescription papers that they staple) SAY it’s for a total of 70mg. The box of pills that are 30mg ALSO has a sticker attached saying it’s part of 70mg total.
But ofc we had to call the doctor’s office, AGAIN, in the middle of a busy work day. To accuse them of CVS’s failures once more.
The office manager sent me a screenshot from their computer of what they sent on JUNE 19. For 70mg of Accutane, one box of 30mg, one box of 40mg. I know my doctor is not stupid. I know that. AND my son’s father is a freakin dentist…I think he knows how to discuss a prescription when he calls the CVS pharmacy. Like…we’re not all misunderstanding everything here. It is LITERALLY EVERY TIME. Not even the same issue. Myriad issues.
WHERE IS MY SON’S MEDICATION? Do you keep it and sell it on the side? Why are you holding it hostage? And omg please don’t respond to this review with some bs explanation. It is EVERY TIME. Just give my kid his medication. He’s already missed a few days. It’s Accutane. You don’t get the script without being seen. We needed it when the doctor called it in. And don’t worry, this is the last time. I don’t have three days to waste every time we need medicine. I saw a review saying they can’t believe the bad reviews. Well, I sure do. I’ve maybe left one other bad review in the last twenty years. So there you go, folks.

I'm really surprised by the bad reviews. I think the pharmacy staff are fabulous and friendly. It's a very busy place so you need patience. They are nice and all very professional.

Rudest pharmacy staff I have ever encountered; the one thing they are consistent with. Extremely unpleasant and filled with attitude and then I overheard the pharmacist actually questioning why they don’t have good reviews- it’s because of your staff!!!

I’d shop at this CVS before any other CVS and that’s simply due to the pleasant individuals who work here and are always very helpful from MANAGEMENT down to cashiers ….. the manager does an exceptional job at this location

I was very satisfied with my stop at the CVS in Ardsley, N.Y. The main item I was looking for, Gillette Razor blades, trac 3 were not there, but a suitable disposable razor was on sale. I enjoyed discounts on a few products which I hadn't planned on buying, but are good, i.e. mouthwash. I was also happy to find Folic Acid, buy one, get one free. There was no Folic Acid at Walgreens when I checked. Lastly, a cashier kept my glove safe for me when he found it in the aisle. Thank You, CVS!

Unprofessional ! If you do not want to deal with customers, this is not a job for you@ cvs customer service failed again about treating people with respect when they send you a text saying your order is ready for pick up. It shouldn’t be a problem. Don’t wait until I get to the store to print something up and on top of that to lose it and to carry your attitude about it because you’re tired of dealing with customers, I mean really!

I stopped going here two years ago when I couldn’t handle their pharmacy department any longer. It would take 2+ hours to get someone on the phone (even my doctors office tried multiple times). But every once in awhile I would stop in because I was visiting a nearby establishment and each time I regretted going. The staff there is so unprofessional. Awhile back I went to pick up a photo order and they couldn’t find it and told me that they must have never printed it. I asked if someone else could look and they found it after 10 minutes of searching…in the printer. The next time I went they said their machine was broken but no one ever called me to say they would never print my order. Then I went yesterday to pick up holiday cards after getting a notification that my order was ready for pick up. The lady at the front who I believe was the manager because she didn’t have any CVS name tag/etc. said “oh those are just automatically sent.” Which I know not to be true because I spoke to someone later about it. She said that their machine was broken and that they couldn’t print my order. I asked if I hadn’t come in would they have called or something to let me know and what they would do to fix it (and from the looks of their computer screen when she pointed to it - a ton of other people had orders waiting to be same day filled). She said that it wasn’t her job to call customer service - that I had to call to redo the order to another CVS. She was so unfriendly and rude. This was so unprofessional and my absolute last straw of visiting this location. The place is so dirty and I just don’t understand how they are still in business. Stay away from the pharmacy and photo departments if you must visit. The one in Scarsdale is so much better.

Tyler at this CVS store was very helpful. He was very polite & had excellent professional manners. He asked me if I needed help and came over immediately. He was very patient and helped me till end. I wish we had more employees (everywhere) like him.

Just returned from CVS, have not been to the store in awhile I was surprised how empty the card section was, they always had the best cards. On a second note the customer service was also lacking. It was sad on so many levels the store is not pleasant place to shop any longer.

TLDR: wow… stay away from the pharmacy - especially if you’re new to the area and trying to find a new pharmacy to fill prescriptions. My experience with pharmacist Mari Kim was unhelpful, unclear, and unprofessional. I now am driving extra to the CVS in Yonkers just to have a PNR prescription filled that i’ve used for over 5+ years. Mari’s reasons for being unable to fill my prescription at this location are exclusively concerns for her and not concerns that have ever caused issues in the past, or concerns that exist with other pharmacists or at other CVS locations (i.e. this exact same script was filled at the CVS in Yonkers without a hiccup).
Full Explanation:
I am new to the lower Westchester area (Hastings) but over the past 3 years have only worked with other NY based CVS pharmacies. I have a “take as needed (PNR)” prescription for a controlled substance and have never experienced issues getting refills. I see my prescribing doctor frequently and when i ran out of the medication my doctor sent my usual script to Ardsley CVS (as it’s now my closest CVS after moving.)
Then the issues began with the pharmacy - first I received a call asking for more information, i returned the call and provided my updated address, but pharmacist Mari said she had to go on her lunch break and told me she’d return my call after (no worries). But I did not hear back from her, so I followed up the next day, she had forgotten our conversation and began pushing back on my updated address and asking why I want this CVS location to fill my prescription. She didn't seem to understand that I am new to this area but still have other registered addresses where I do not reside. She pushed back multiple times on my new address information, telling me this CVS isnt “close enough” to Hastings on Hudson to justify filling my prescription? Then she gave me an unsolicited “piece of advice” that I should try to develop a good relationship with only one pharmacy. This was upsetting to hear as I have not had the luxury to permanently reside in only one location long enough to “develop a relationship” with a pharmacy, which is also partly why I thought staying within the CVS brand would be helpful (my mistake)?! And with my recent move to Hastings this year, I was hoping to use CVS Ardsley as my new local pharmacy (guess not, thanks Mari lol)
Mari did decide to google my address and then realized that the CVS in Ardsley was indeed the closest pharmacy. Now she started to push back on the nature of the prescription itself and began asking questions that I’ve only ever heard prescribing doctors ask. At this point it was clear she would simply just not fill my script and said she wanted to first confirm some things with my doctor. Ok… my doctor was equally confused as to why there is suddenly all this push back and asked me to just find an easier pharmacy to deal with.
I understand this is a script for a controlled substance but i’ve had this same script written by different doctors and filled at different pharmacies over the past 5 years and this is the first time i've ever experienced this type of headache. The most ironic part is the CVS in yonkers filled it within a day, no issues… yikes. If there is concern on Mari's part for safety or legal requirements, then she should be more clear in what myself or my doctor need to provide so that her concerns are alleviated. Additionally, Mari never clarified her concerns beyond that there are more regulations for controlled substances so there would be more legal work for herself to complete if I wanted to pick up this prescription... Mari was very unhelpful and made my interaction with this CVS a poor experience on many fronts. STAY AWAY
