“Oct. 2020. Good service, good selection of liquor and wine. I've been going to Four J's for over 15 years. I often buy a case of inexpensive wine, and they always automatically give a 10% discount. They're very honest. Their prices are often slightly cheaper than nearby liquor stores. They answer their phone and can tell you what they have in stock, or will order for you.”

“I have enjoyed buying wines from Daniel Posner/Grapes for 20+ years. While I definitely do not agree with all of his recommendations, his wine knowledge is encyclopedic; more importantly, his wine prices are very competitive. If you can survive his delusional writing about the Jets during football season and just pay attention to his deals, you will be as satisfied as I have been. Really should be 4.7 Stars but that's not an option.”
“Since moving to New York, Half Time has been my go to store for online and in person shopping. They have a great selection of local gems (Mortalis mixed packs and fresh Marlowe ?). Most things are available as singles for those that like to explore different styles. Prices are generally pretty reasonable based on the market and are often running promotions online. For those looking for variety, I would definitely recommend. Cheers!”

“this is my first visit to Gary’s. I loved the depth and breadth of their wine inventory. I really like South African wines and many wine shops either do not carry them at all, and if they do, have a very limited selection. Gary has a nice selection of South African wines as well as Italian wines, with the Italian wines featuring a lot of regions that most other wine shops do not. Kudos to Gary’s! Oh, and by the way, their wines are priced very fairly .”
“Store is wall stock with a wide variety of wines and liquors. The prices are also quite competitive and reasonable. Storage clean and staff is quite friendly and ready to help with your selection and answer questions for your purchase and for your interest of wines and liquors. I would suggest trying them if you like call them see what they have for you it might surprise you and you too may be a repeat customer.”

“Full disclosure: I've only placed one online order with Bottle Grove, so I can't speak to the experience of shopping there physically. But what an excellent experience I had.I placed an order in late August 2023. Within minutes, I received an email from Chris that the following week would be too hot to safely ship wine, but that if this was an urgent order, they could make it happen. I never would have thought of this, and never would have expected a vendor to put this much thought into their fulfillment. I accepted their offer to hold shipment until the weather turned around, and received a follow-up note confirming the bottle was gift wrapped and shipped (with tracking number provided!) from another member of the team, Matthew.Bottle Grove is doing customer service and fulfillment the right way! Thank you!”

“As much as I would like to, in good consciousness, I can't gatekeep this place. While, yes, the space is small, they cram an impressive assortment of product on their shelves. I had the privilege of being assisted by the owner of the shop who was unbelievably helpful in finding what I needed - a mix of liquor for my engagement party. I have not a single clue about flavor profiles of Champaign, I just needed something that was delicious and price effective. The owner made his recommendation, and I walked away with a bottle to sample at home. The bottle ended up being absolutely delicious, so I returned the next week for a few cases. Main Wines also has an extensive Whiskey and Wine selection - again, small shelves, but they seem to pack the hits here as well as some allocated bottles. I bought some whiskies and vodka along with my cases for those who imbibe, and was all set for my party (I even received complements on my selection...spoiler alert, I didn't pick them, the owner did). I hope to see Main Wines grow over the next few years, and I hope all the apartments they're throwing up around town will help with that effort. I'll certainly be back for my future needs!”

“i highly recommend giving this spot a visit. I went in confused and lost, but i left an enlightened man. laconia liquors got that juice. it has everything i needed to get on one and so much more. I saw whiskeys i had never seen before, wines and rums from the furthest corners of the globe, all with the convenience of being close by (and they deliver???). this is not only a community service, but a (spirit)ual one. Its run by a day 1 BX family, you couldn't support a more deserving local business.”

“The best prices in the area, though their selection is somewhat limited. The sales associates are friendly and very well versed in there products. They allow customers to order cases of items they don't sell, and delivery is available through Uber and Doordash. There are free tastings almost every day and occasional bottle engravings.”
“I rarely write up a review, but it is needed here. They offer such an amazing selection of wine producers with very difficult to come by vintages and they actively restock their collection. I have purchased here many many times, the condition of the bottles are always in such superb condition even considering the 20-30-40+ year old bottles. The customer service is always on point and their pick up turn around times are very reasonable, considering they have the store front and the collection is held in temperature controlled storage facility nearby. Truly a gem of a place and it will continue to be one of my go to's for particular wines to add to the cellar. Great place of business definitely one of the best and most reputable in the area that is for sure!”

“Thierry, the owner, is incredible who has a contagious passion for wine.. I’ve had a hospitable experience at every visit. This place has a fantastic, diverse portfolio of international wines at great price points. (I’ve noticed I’ve been ripped off by some other local purveyors and shops who apply silly, unfounded markups… they shall remain nameless but it’s terrible!) I LOVE their detailed notes on each bottle and the care they take to do their research. It’s really clear to see this spot was opened with real dedication. “Specializing in Italian wines from all over the country, San Pietro provided an overwhelmingly positive experience to learn about wines for every region in Italy. They even have a few domestic wines to choose from. Lucia was so helpful and knowledgable providing insights into some rather fun, obscure wines. She was even gracious enough to provide change for the parking meter so we could talk longer! I'm planning to make a visit to San Pietro a part of my quarterly visits to Yonkers and the surrounding area!”

“Been coming here for about 8 yr now. Exceptional selection that is carefully curated for your palate and price point. The staff is knowledgeable to a fault : be prepared for a lecture about the grapes, climate, structure of the wine and vintage. Always love to get their picks because I rarely have an off wine from them. It is a wonderful little tucked away gem.”
