Guys don't typically write reviews for nail salons, but I felt I really needed to as they're great here. Try to come for a mani/pedi every other month and they always do an incredible job. They make you feel comfortable and pampered and are courteous and professional. Once I asked to have my fingernails painted 10 different colors for a party, and they came out amazing and lasted for two weeks.Services: Nail painting

Huge no! Never coming here again!!Got a manicure + tips done some time ago. It was my first time getting tips. Since I mentioned I'm going on a beach vacation, it was suggested I get the most expensive one they had to last 3 weeks or so! Costed about $90+My skin around the nails is sensitive (just like everyone's) and I kept telling them it hurts while they did the manicure. so they can be careful but They kept hurting as they were distracted. I regretted every moment of it. Blood started to come off by the end. What a horrible experience!

Agata is my go-to nail salon in the neighborhood. I am always pleased with my mani/pedi and they usually last for a solid few weeks without chipping. These ladies work really hard and are always so lovely to work with.

I have searched far and wide for a good nail salon, in many neighborhoods and even states! No one beats Agata Nails, their costumer service and quality of work remains unchallenged, and Nube is a talented artist . I get regular manicures and it feels like many places unfortunately start to put less effort and attention to them.. Not everyone wants to get Gel. Thank you Agata Nails!!

I was able to come here once and have my nails serviced. The service was okay and my nails came out okay as well. My issue with this place is that they claim to be appointment only. The first time I came I didn’t have an appointment but subsequently I came on three different occasions and each time I was denied. The final time I came, I was told to wait 5 minutes. A white woman shows up after me as I’m waiting outside and they come outside and tell me I have to wait 20 mins now. Suspect much? I ask why and they say she had an appointment and they didn’t think she was going to show up. If that’s the case they should have told me that before telling me to wait 5 minutes that there was a possibility a person with an appointment would come. Either poor communication or racism. Never coming back here. They are unprofessional and don’t do that stellar of a job to be so selective with their clientele.Services: Gel manicures

I was talked into getting SGS extensions for $90 and told they would last 3 to 4 weeks. Less than 24 hours later, one nail already fell off. And no, I wasn't doing anything intensive that might have put extraneous pressure on it, I was just styling my hair. I am livid and want a refund.

I was visiting Astoria and looking for a quick and cheap basic manicure. Agata Nails was nearby and didn't have much of a wait. Mary was my nail tech and did a great job. She was kind and patient. The place is very small, but they do have a bathroom. Head to the back of the shop and take a spiral staircase down to find it. Looks like they offer other 'spa' services in a room down there too. The price can't be beat at $13 for a basic manicure that lasted maybe 5 days before I got a little chip. I should have gotten the basic pedicure too. Just $20! Overall, good for a quick manicure. I'd recommend bringing cash as some places charge for credit card use.

Besides doing a very nice job, the women at Agata Nails are so nice and kind. While the place is tight, it still has a very relaxing atmosphere because of how nice and relaxed the ladies are. The new appointment system works great. I recommend it!

NEVER I repeat NEVER get your eyebrows done here. It’s a 50/50 gamble of whether or not the girl you get will be able to successfully do your eye brows. My eyebrows are now ruined. I told her to not take off too much and not only did she mishape my brows when I asked for an arch; she left me with thin lumpy brows. Never again.Service: Waxing

I got a good manicure and I was essentially a walk-in on a busy Sunday. I didn’t know the business was appointment only, so I called from outside and they said I could come now. I waited 5 minutes while someone who wasn’t helping someone came to help me. She did a wonderful job. I wanted my mani to have a bit of a cuticle cleanup but not a deep cut cuticle and the specialist got it just right.I thought the place was well organized given how whoever was free answered the phone. As the place filled up while I was there I heard them telling folks who called they were too busy right now but they would come in x minutes when there would be someone free to help them, so they were managing the flow well. It’s a small neighborhood spot so I would have been happy to wait or get an appointment at a time that worked better than them.

So after reading some reviews, I can see I am not the only LONG TERM client whose business is unappreciated by Agata nails. I almost never write reviews but the way they treated my 14 year old daughter today definitely warrants one... Ive been going to Agata since they first opened abt 10 years ago. Since my daughter has been in Kindergarten, Ive been bringing her with me. She would get a quick mani while she waited for me. My daughter is now in highschool. 10 years we've been bringing our business to Agata. I've always praised the cleanliness of the shop, and recommended their work to friends some of who are now also current clients. They were very friendly as well. Please note, I wrote WERE. Also, any time you call to make an appt, they are never ready when you arrive. This past June (2021) I made an appt for my daughters graduation. When we arrived they were busy with other clients. I don't mind waiting a little bit, I know things happen, but we ended up waiting almost 2 hours. During the wait, a man walked in and sat down right away for a pedicure. When I complained, the condescending remarks started in spanish and the man was answering his tech in English. He thought he was some kind of VIP. I know they were responding to me bc I could understand most of it. However, they wouldnt acknowledge me, or that we had been waiting for a over an hour. My daughters graduation was the next day, I had other errands to run and they took up my time. I knew most places nearby were also booked due to the time of year so I didnt want to make her leave. I was trying very hard not to let her down. Some classmates were there also waiting, so we tried to make the best of it. (One of her classmates was a walk in) Our 3pm turned to 430. She got her nails done, but I did not bc I would have had to wait for her to finsh, and I would have never made the dry cleaners. But as long as she got hers done, it was her day. Fast forward to Dec 2021. My daughter wanted Acrylics for the holidays. I allowed her to go without me because I had another appt. I sent her in an Uber with her friend. Uber had wrong pin location, and she ended up 10 minutes late. So Agata gave away her appt. bc she didnt call. BUT, wait for it.... I made the appt, my daughter didnt know she had to call, and I didnt know she was running late or I would have called on her behalf. They told her she had to either wait for the lady who took her appointment to arrive and ask for her spot back, or come back the next day at a later time. I told my daughter just make a new appt, but then I realized wait, where is the Acrylic nail lady now? She was doing someone else's nails! So, had my daughter arrived on time she would have had to wait for that person to be finished anyway bc they were running late! Good business practice, you already have someone in the chair, dont overbook! I guess its ok with them for a 10 year, multi appt client to wait for 2 hours the day before her graduation, but she's 10 minutes late and they practically kicked her out. My daughter was crying when she got home bc they were so rude abt it. I was on the phone trying to reason with someone for abt 10 minutes who couldnt justify making her leave so she hung up on me. And I also picked up on the other nail techs making comments in Spanish. Hello! Many light skinned people ARE hispanic and we can understand you! I guess its ok as long as they make the $$. They dont care about customer loyalty. I gave my daughter $100 and told her to add $20 for a tip (bc its the holidays). So Acrylic nail lady lost that tip, and Agata lost our business and our referrals from now on. (Oh and I am a really generous tipper). Sad, bc my daughter used to feel very comfortable going there after all this time, but ever since covid they have a terrible attitude and don't have any people skills. Agata nails need to learn how to appreciate ALL of their customers and to be more accommodating! They are greedy and unprofessional! Their business is thriving bc of returning customers, and neighborhood support. And sinc

It was my first time here. I had a powder gel before. I wanted them to take it out first before applying powder gel. They literally soaked my hand into a water full of nail polish remover, made it wait for half an hour. My nails got so thin and when the lady was removing the gel, she broke all my nails. I couldn't use my own nails for the powder gel since it was all broken. not professional and not on time. also it is overpriced. it is sad because It is only two blocks away from me. I wanted to give it a try however, I had a bad experience. I don't recommend this place to anyoneService: Gel manicure

Do not come here for acrylics. Everything from the start was a mess. She used unsanitized tools, I have a solid understanding of health code, product knowledge and application but try not to be a "backseat driver" I saw mistakes, only pointing out grave errors, which were met with excuses. I thought maybe she will fix it in shaping. No, by the end of acrylic application my nails were crooked, thick, lumpy, unsealed, and looked like I already needed a fill in. I gave up. I knew by this point there was no fixing this mess, I told her i was sorry but I couldn't wear the nails. She threw a fit, demanded I stay, in the end I told them to cut them off, where she flat out refused to do a removal until her manager stepped in. The manager never spoke to me. The nail tech was furious, She stuck my hands in acid and never came back. I asked for a scraper and began trying to do it myself. Eventually a kind nail tech stepped in and offered me assistance. Everything from the service to product were awful
