i stopped in to get a bank check for my former tenant who was kind enough to pay for a emergency plumbing repair and the other yelp reviews are on the money (no pun intended). the customer service works in slow motion, tellers are half asleep and the amount of proof i had to show is way beyond whats necessary. after 15 minutes i finally got the bank check and not even a thank you or have a nice day. this astoria capital one branch needs a complete customer service overhaul. one star and thats being really kind on my part.

Unfortunately this is the only Capital One Branch in Astoria. Majority of the tellers have zero sense of urgency and are more worried about internal gossip than helping customers. Capital One Policies have changed regarding depositing and withdrawing funds but none of the Tellers/Associates are on the same page. I've been told different information regarding the same matter every single time I go in. 1) ensure your employees are up to date on all policies and procedures so they can share the correct information w clients and so clients time is not wasted 2) all clients should be treated equally and with respect 3) there's not always a Branch manager working during regular business hours 4) avoid one of the Associates, her name is Lidia Vinas - how this woman got a job in customer service is beyond me. She discriminates against customers, has a nasty attitude and is misleading with the information she shares with customers. I will be going into the branch tomorrow to final a formal complaint with the actual branch manager.

Awful Bank. They discriminate against people and they were asking for way more ID than necessary to do a transaction. They charge for everything (maybe that was personal against me) This location should close. It is trash. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

During this pandemic having 22 customers in one place and only 2 tellers!!! That is the best way to spread germs. I like to know who is responsible for this branch, don't they see this? They better shut down completely. This is ridiculous, they have been always bad but where are the precautions for Covid.

Two " homeless guys " have set up their living room inside the bank by cash machines one coughing up his lungs after smoking his cigarette. On vacation this week I will be closing my account.

Horrible! One clerk working the floor! Incompetent couldn't answer why & who attempted to access my bank account several times. Their phone customer service is beyond disaster! It's time to move to another bank! I have no access to my money and there is no one to answer what needs to be done to rectify the issue!

This branch has provided by far one of the worst customer service experiences with a bank that I have ever had. I knew the fee for my safe deposit box held at this location was coming due. I never got a bill for this fee, so I called the location to understand why. The branch that I called transferred me to customer service, who after close to an hour of my waiting on hold, then told me they did not handle safe deposit boxes, then cut me off. After I called back, I was again sent to customer service, where I had to wait ANOTHER hour before someone was able to briefly speak with me again AGAIN tell me they could not help with safe deposit boxes. That person transferred me to another person who again put me on hold. I have a job, and cannot afford to simply wait on hold all day, so I had to hang up. I called back a third time, and this time, someone at this actual branch in Astoria actually answered my questions instead of sending me to wait on hold AGAIN with their "customer service". This time, the person told me that they will not be sending out a bill, and they will not be able to just debit my account. The only way that I can pay the bill for my safe deposit box is to physically go into their location. This location is only open from 9-5 on weekdays. So, in other words, in order me to give them money, I have to take a day off of work or leave work early, or travel 30min to an hour both ways to walk into the bank and make a payment on my weekend. They were neither going to tell me, nor bill me, and the only way I found this out was by spending over three hours being tossed around from one department to another. This branch and the entire CapitalOne customer service operation behind it is a complete and utter failure. I'm looking to close my account with them as soon as possible and I would recommend everyone else stay as far away from Capital One banking as you possibly can.

I've been a customer for many years of this bank and never realized how terrible their customer service was until I had an issue with their capitalone credit card online payment and had to call for assistance. It was the most annoying phone call ever, trying to convince them with the verification of my identity over the phone, since they only went by a passcode that I didn't remember even creating. Due to this "huge issue" (apparently), they couldn't give me any information even though I could've provided other ways like social security number, cell number for them to send me a code through text, email or land phone like other banks do like Chase. In addition, second time around today, I called the Capital One Broadway, Astoria branch and when an agent picked up, I briefly explained to her that I needed help with a payroll check they had on hold and I would need them to release so that I would have money in my account. She gave me the choice to hold because she had a client at her desk or go to go back to their central services which I refused since I had already done that for 35 minutes before I called them. She left me holding for 45 minutes and not once did she get back on the line to check on me and let me know how much longer I would be holding for. This is not the way to treat a customer and totally unacceptable, especially when they charge service fees, and then they can't even take care of menial everyday issues. I'm extremely disappointed with their customer service and as soon as I get a chance, I will take my business elsewhere! Btw...their new ATM machines are awful and are slower than the ones they had before. Definitely, a plus for thieves to attack you while making a transaction since it takes too damn long to go through the whole process. Their customer service team needs to be retrained and learn the basics of how to handle a call! Not a satisfied customer!

Terrible customer service. No matter how much marketing money you spent on customer acquisition, your client managers are the ones sending your clients away one by one. They are not here to help you, or find a solution for your banking needs, they gave you the "told you so" attitude. A simple request of a wire money became mission impossible. I just opened Capital One 360 Checking, all positive experience until I stepped into this branch. To be fair, the tellers are much more courteous and professional. People sitting in the desk act like they are the boss. If you give your clients the boss attitude, you get your a** kicked right away. If you are concerned I'm closing my Capital One account, you are the reason I am closing my Capital One account. Also your client manager complained about your own IT ticketing service in front of servicing me. Took your internal bitching off client facing. You dont b**** about your employer in your job to your clients.

Horrible customer service. THEY RUINED OUR DAY. We stopped by this branch with one of my friend because of urgent situation . Huge line , no body is there for work, there is impossible to find someone to ask basic question. Obviously they don't care about customer appreciation. I am using Capital One too, never see those kind of attitude on employee or remembering I waited more then 5 minutes on my branch(in Manhattan). WE WAITED 33 MINUTES to see teller only, and when we got in bank , there were only 5 people front of us. Plus ,when we were leaving the branch, 15 people were waiting on the line which is shame for business owner , and shame for manager. My advice is THEY SHOULD SHUT DOWN THE BUSINESS on this branch because they are victimizing people by wasting their time for very basic process. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRANCH!!! ATTENTION TO OWNER OR MANAGER ( whoever is in charge for this branch) , if you don't have any knowledge what is the customer service or managing business please don't waste people's time. Shut down the business or improve yourselves, get some education about managing business.

I would give this zero stars if possible. My parents are customers here and have been victims of fraud THREE times. Both checking and savings accounts have been taken from. The investigator on the case has told us it's most likely the bank tellers or someone else from the bank who is giving away their information and making it possible for others to take money from their accounts, victimizing them because they are immigrants who aren't proficient in English. This is disgusting and it's embarrassing for such a well known bank to allow their employees to do this. I am currently in the process of switching my parents over to another bank, but they aren't making that very easy.
