This is the most poorly managed CVS pharmacy I’ve ever been to (and they’re all pretty poorly managed). I got in line to pick up my medication (which was ready) at 7:45pm and when it was my turn 5 minutes later, they said I couldn’t change my insurance because they “close drop offs at 7:45pm”, even though everywhere else online and on the signs at the pharmacy itself says they close at 8pm. In the time the manager took explaining this to me they could have just updated my insurance. I had to leave without my medication even though I needed it that day.

I originally gave this place two stars. Well today's experience drops them down to zero stars, but the lowest I can give is one star. I got to the pharmacy line five minutes before they close at 1:30pm for lunch and was told I couldn't get in line because they were going on lunch. Anyone who arrives before 1:30pm should be able to get in line and pick up their prescription. I asked for the manager "Jasmine" and was told she wasn't in today. The employee guarding the line was snarky and rude to me. I went to the front of the store and spoke to two other managers who said I should have been allowed to get in line. But by the time we got back to the pharmacy they were closed. They told her they would take me first in 30 minutes when they come back from their lunch break. So now I have to sit here for 30 minutes and wait until they open to get my medication because I'm having dental surgery tomorrow and need to start taking the antibiotics NOW. This place has the poorest customer service of any CVS I've ever been to. All 15 of the pharmacy staff has to take lunch at the same time instead of staggering lunches. I am LIVID and will be chatting with "Jasmine" as soon as she shows her face. Avoid this CVS at all costs if you are able to. They treat customers like trash. ORIGINAL REVIEW:This CVS location is the worst I've ever seen. They are always out of stock on everything! Don't come here if you need basic necessities because they don't have them. And don't get me started on the pharmacy! The line is always twenty people deep. There are never enough cashiers working although there are at least a dozen people standing around behind the counter. And in the front of the store there is no cashier at all. It's all self-checkout and half the time those machines are not working properly. Oh, and 90% of the store is locked behind glass so if they do have something you need you have to push a button and stand around for five minutes until an employee comes to unlock it. There is nothing"convenient" about shopping in this store.

The pharmacist Joe denied me access to a booster, even though I had successfully registered for one online. I'm high-risk and cannot be around people for extended periods of time, and yet he had me wait for 30 minutes past the appointment time in a packed corner of the store, surrounded by those not wearing masks. He was also not wearing a mask.He used his personal phone to call other managers to seemingly find a "good enough" reason to deny me the booster. Here's some of what he said: 1) they go by CDC guidelines, not what their own website says; 2) the website is a computer so that's why you have a human to "help" you; 3) there's a new booster coming out in a few weeks so that's why I couldn't get one today; 4) when I asked if Id be able to get it at that later date, his answer was "I don't know"; and 5) when I asked this man with a doctorate what I was supposed to do to stay safe then, he said "there are no guidelines for you."......so if there were ever a physical manifestation of how little the US Healthcare System cares about those with disabilities, it's Pharmacist Joe* from this CVS.*he wouldn't tell me his last name What a waste of time and now I guess I'll pray that I didn't get covid from waiting for a booster that they had access to, my doctors recommended, and Joe decided not give.

Pretty sad place - it it OBVIOUS that corporate is not giving payroll or support to the store staff; it's dirty, out-of-stock, messy and to combat shoplifting many items are locked up. You're going to age while waiting for help - there's no one there to do so. The pharmacy was closed when I went to pick up my scripts, no notice they close daily for lunch (makes no sense that a pharmacy in NYC would be completely closed) so I'm in queue with 20 other people waiting. The staff are friendly enough, but you can tell they're underserved, get shit from customers who aren't patient etc. I'm going to have to change my pharmacy - it's just too sad coming here.

Incredibly long lines, I’ve often waited 30+ minutes of a prescription. They also close 30 min in the middle of the day but don’t bother to re-open on time even though the line already extends past the end of the aisle

The Pharmacy Staff, especially Gregory , Jasmine, Fadel and Chris are very helpful and attentive every time I pickup my prescriptions or have a few questions regarding my medications. I'm always given exceptional service at the CVS Pharmacy located at 30-97 Steinway Street Astoria New York location.

Lied about prescription being in stock, and only found out after my dr was closed for the day. Should be illegal. No care for the responsibility they have for their patients. Only go here if your medication isn’t important and you have a day to waste waiting in line.

I've been going to this CVS forever and always have some sort of dilemma. They're always out of supply, I thought it was just during the pandemic but I went in a couple of times in the past month and they never have any basic items that I need, whether it's shampoo or a simple pack of gum.So basically I had ordered photos to pick up last week and received a email confirmation that they were ready for pickup. I went in Monday and the lady behind the cashier said the printer has been down for a while... I showed her my confirmation & she replied "not possible." I was like ok, fine I'll come back tomorrow... so I come back the next day & they said there were too many orders & to resend it. That's exactly what I did and came back the same night to it still not being printed. I show up Wednesday ... and thankfully a sweet manager noticed how frustrated I was getting & took it upon himself to get this matter resolved! Overall was very annoying and a simple fix .. thankfully the manager was great and his customer service / positive energy gave me a different outlook; however now I know not to print photos here if I need them asap.
